Gosh I never knew I was interested in old sawmills till I came across your content. It is wonderful that you explained some of the machinery as I know NOTHING about this topic but can't seem to stop watching. I have a 27" saw blade on my living room wall that a local gentleman give to me several years ago that he used for an advertising sign for his sharpening business. Thanks for the great work!

Saw milling is a fun pastime , one idea i'd like to pass on is getting an older farm tractor , doesn't even need good tires but something you can park in one spot and block it up off the ground then hook up the pto shaft . this is what i did several years ago and it work great

The sawdust chain looks tight and comes up off the ground real quick. Theres multi holes on the adjustment mechanism and dowels go in the holes for 1" or 2" etc

Boy, I would love to work with him for a while, the older gentleman. The knowledge to be gained would be priceless. The guy doing the filming, and talking is a bit of a tyro.

It is a 4-71 you can tell by the inspection covers on the side and the general size of the engine. A 53 would have a hard time with an "0" In fact you gonna wish you had a 6-71.
