@@dank980 Back when it first went up, we thought it was just the original but repainted. As time passed, we learned more of the story, until eventually the news fully came out about the original being in town.

@@Whyyoutubewhy.. It won't go full speed when running forward, so that needs addressed first. It can overload the motor and cause other issues if it can't get to full speed.

@@Whyyoutubewhy.. We changed the oil, put in new grease, changed blower belts, oiled the relief valve, and swapped blower wires around yesterday morning.

My ears: im bleeding My eyes: FUCK YEA! My brain: siren fan sees 1003A, cool.

Amazing! This is legendary.

The tb 1003 sounds like a “goose” but when I turn the volume up, the hi low is audible.

I don't get why people are upset about the blower being reverse wired. I honestly prefer it being reverse wired. Also, I'm assuming that the solenoid issue is temporary? Anyways, its nice to see this bolt back up and running!

I can tell the siren has been refurbished because it has a black horn screen and a new paint job

its alive again!

Its back again lol and sounds just like before maintnence. Looks like its 2rpm now as well

@@CYang-pe1sk it's been 4/5, the chopper swap on this thunderbolt was a very long time ago. Edit: They swapped it at some point between 2016-2019 I think

@@ChicagoSirens I'm wondering the same, but it could also be because of the attack timing which is also easily fixed by merging 2 wires at the agastat. Either way, the blower being reverse wired probably isn't good for the chopper motor as it's spinning at a higher speed than it's rated for.

Lies. Some bolts in existence have been backwards for their entire service life (like this one, though the original chopper died) Brushed universal motors (the chopper motors used in bolts) are tanks. They can take a beating and give it back (especially considering this has a 50s chopper assembly). A good example of brushed motors not giving a shit about how they spin is Clyde. That thing has sounded exactly the same in every recording for the past 7 years. Brushed motors can spin at pretty much any speed and be fine.

We intentionally set the belt for 2 RPM at the shop. We did this in hopes it'd reduce stress on the main gear and reduce chances of it becoming worn/damaged more quickly.
