When Ford rolled out the Mustang for 1965, Carroll Shelby’s team immediately went to work building a road-racing version called the Shelby GT350. I'm surprised he didn't mention the gap at the roof line at the rear windshield. When racing this model, They found that air pressure would build up in the rear of the car, almost acting like a parachute, slowing it down. they put the gap there to allow air to flow out, to alleviate this problem.

A few faux pas in this vid. there were 36 r-models made. there were no R-coupes ever built. no plexiglass side windows (voice over) R- model had aluminum panels like on this car. also the originals r-models came with 15x7 magnesium wheels. good luck getting a set of those today!
