I had a 66 4 door hardtop Crown, it was sliver with silver cloth seats trimmed in black leather. I thought these model years were the best-looking of all Imperials. They were originally designed to compete with Cadillac and Lincoln but never sold as well. I can't understand why the Imperial didn't sell better than it did. In 1966 the Imperial was fitted with Chrysler's famous 440. The power, the handling, and the comfort was far better than Cadillac and Lincoln. The Imperial is beautiful and elegant. One of my favorite features of the 65 and 66 was exclusive headlights under glass, a typical Chrysler styling que. The glass had a gold line that framed the headlights. I was always thought that all Chrysler Corporation cars had the headlights installed with a slight angle that gave the cars a look that they were looking up at you in a cute yet confident way. That gave the cars a pleasant personality. I really loved my 66, I wish I still had it, which is what I say about all the cars I've owned. After all I wouldn't have owned them if I didn't feel that way. "To death do I part." Funny how I only feel that way about my cars. I've never felt that way about any human that I've known. These Imperials look like royalty in all black.

@@pennise yeah, I actually SAW the problem with that. The smog over San Diego in the 1970s was literally visible. Since catalytic converters have been on cars for decades now, most people are too young to know how much these cars polluted the air. Saying things like “back when Chrysler used to build real cars” sound like a cheap attempt to sound nostalgic. You think cars aren't real now?

@@michaeljordan9879 Overpopulation is the real problem my friend. These electric cars will pollute far more with the ultra toxic guts of the battery which can't be recycled just thrown in some top secret waste dump polluting our waters.
This is like a dream come true
It's hard to envision a more majestic looking car.
Beautiful. I feel like this era of Imperials were the closest thing to American Rolls-Royce, without neoclassical styling. The Mid-century modern luxury car.
This car is another American beauty. Imagine taking a long haul from say Chicago to San Francisco, using I 80 as your pathway. It would be fun, even if a bit boring.
the Green Hornet's Car..Black Beauty 🐝🐝
Off the chart stunning
A clean, restrained, and very elegant design.
I think I've fallen in love. This car is gawjuss.
When we were growing up in the 80's, the LeBaron was one of the biggest pieces of poop you could get. A rolling embarrassment. This car, on the other hand, is pure coolness.

Stunning. Always liked these better than the Lincolns.
It's a beautiful and stately motorcar! Mr. Drysdale is close by.

Mr. Drysdale drove a convertible, didn’t he?
Beautiful car
The only flaw with the 65 Lebarons was the removal of the Eagle on the C pillar. They put it right back on the 66.
Very nice car then and now
Stunning!
Work of art
A true work of art !
Your "Perfection on Wheels" is very photogenic, just like my Cabriolet topped DODGE MIRADA. No matter the angle, click, click, click! And then some.
Imperial was the most luxurious American car ever made.
