Correct me if I'm wrong, the bond car was a DB5 not a DB4. Also would have been right hand drive. I have a lot of knowledge and experience with DB4 GT's.
@TedwardDrives

@@jamespicking1140 Yes I will correct you. The Bond car was a modified DB4. A DB5 Prototype. It was in fact a DB4. I think you misunderstood. This car isn't the movie car.

It's amazing that the exhaust sounds like a Chevy straight 6 with the trick split exhaust manifold (two groups of 3 cylinders) and dual exhaust that was available for years in the JC Whitney catalog 😉 that exhaust definitely livened up a Chev straight 6!

Oh my gwaawwwdddd. I'm just here for the exhaust note. Thanks for making this one.
That car just oozes class and elegance. I'd be too afraid to drive it unless I was wearing a tux.
The sound you get from a straight six, either German or British - but I’ll favour British, because that’s what I am - from the 50s and 60s just sound so sweet. The little burbling over-runs off throttle, delightful.
The sound is so iconic and i absolutely would love to hear one of these get into a highway entrance ramp from 2 to 4
I love the super mechanical sound when changing gears, the engine is pretty good too.
the car is a masterpiece of design and has more charisma than anything that is built today.
The exhaust note on it literally makes me want to sell everything for one...
Inline 6,s with duel exhaust and triple carbs, pure racecar sound👌

I saw one of these on the road a week ago. They're so much smaller than you think, and god that soundtrack is to die for.
Just lovely! A pity to be limited to suburban, congested Massachusetts roads which do not do it real justice. This car should ideally be driven on remote mountain roads in Switzerland!
Oh that sound!!!! Wrooom.....wrooom! DB4 is still very best looking and sounding Aston ever.
What kind of MADMAN leaves a can of paint in the trunk of a car like this? I'm cringing at the thought of it spilling

@@marceldemir7514 I don't think that is physically possible if the can has been closed properly (or never opened) , I think you guys are looking for problems where there are none. I mean it's correct to be careful with an classic artifact like this car, but it's not the Mona Lisa. That being said, I would still remove the can from the trunk, it could roll around and damage the owners manual. Wait, he should remove that owners manual as well, or at least put it in some bag or something.
Omg this is why I love your channel so much, the diversity of content. Ultra rare Italian cars, supercars, EVs, Unimog, van etc. The color combination is so beautiful! One detail that wouldn't surprise me is, white could show those beautiful lines under less light rather than dark colors during an auto show (only my guess) but this cat being the very car from the show feels special. I mean it survived until 2021. This is why I like cars, for their history too, it's like a piece of history. Thanks for sharing as always!

There's something special about an unrestricted exhaust on a classic 6 cylinder motor.... this, and the xk120, amongst a few others. Ear p0rn. Love it.
I was never an Aston guy, till now! That is motoring heaven. Wow!
I wonder if someone would let Tedward borrow a 300sl gulwing
Definitely the kind of car I would drive everywhere to be noticed! Beautiful
An Aston Martin of that era should catch everyone’s eyes. It’s more appealing to see something you may not have seen, such as the DB4/5, pull into a gas station while you just so happen to be there. Definitely would turn heads more than seeing a Lamborghini! But it’s not all about what people think, it’s about you, and the car, you know enjoying each other
"I don't want to redline a valuable old antique car". Then nearly succeeds at 9:58 :) I would do the same. Great to see too the art of downshifting by double-declutching hasn't died. Great video man.
The sound was so good... Id listen to this the whole afternoon
Seems dangerous to leave that can of paint loose in the boot 🤯 (Heat, thermal expansion, shaking)

Great presentation. I think you're absolutely right about its coolness. Thanks for putting this on here. I used to lust after Carlos' DB4 in the UK tv show, 'The Sentimental Agent' (broadcast in 1963).
Man it would be am honor and a privilege to be able to drive this car. I wish there was a company out there that reproduces old cars with more modern engines.

Nothing like the sound of a nice revvy I-6 engine with a proper exhaust! Closes I've come to driving an Aston was being driven in a '67 Db6 I helped restore, as far as driving something with an engine like that, I've worked on several Jaguar XKE's of different years, and they're glorious cars to drive.
Thanks for this video. What a lovely car. It realy feels easy to drive. It looks so controlable.Very classy car to own.
i got to drive a 1964 DB5 at work a few months ago, the sound is just lovely.
I tingle watching this. In 1978 there was an Aston Martin silver with red interior for sale for 10K at Monte Sheldon’s British Motor Cars. I bought a Scirrocco.

Straight to the point. Love the channel.
Aston Martin actually provided 2 cars for Goldfinger, one as you say was a DB4 Series V which was BMT216A (They kept the real number plate) and this was the car that was built for and shown at Earls court motor show essentially as an advertisement for the coming DB5. Originally it was red and it was seen in an episode of 'The Saint' called 'The Noble Sportsman'. This was the stunt car that was modified to include all the gadgets and later toured the World as the promotional car. The other car provided WAS a production DB5. Externally, the way to tell them apart in the films is that BMT216A had side indicators ahead of the vents.
Amazing content, Tedward. Love this channel!
What a fantastic car and that noise is absolutely brilliant
Thanks for posting this. I wish you’d talked more about the cornering and handling generally, but it was great that you kept quiet at times and let that wonderful engine note be the star. Really enjoyable: thanks again.

This sound ! I rode one of those as a teenager in the early 70s, actually the successor DB5. It set my ears on 6 cylinder engines forever. Never could afford such a car, but owned 5 BMWs, all R6 engines.
Awesome reviews and straight to the point. 👍 No unnececessery presenters ego talk that one could find in some car reviews.
Straight 6 sound or Boxer 6 sound, both amazing. Correct car. 💯
