My father had a 1962 Fleetwood Sixty Special for many years. His cylinders and brake pump were Bendix and his Servo Brakes was a Delco Moraine. His braking system was absolutely perfect, even with the car heavily loaded and running at high speeds, about 100 miles an hour.

these cars had good brakes, assuming the brakes are in good shape at the wheels and no air its likely you have a vacuum booster problem, its certainly fixable

I purchased an original owner one (convertible) in excellent shape. I was able to put disc brakes in that made a huge difference. Kept original undercarriage look by retaining the original drum backing plates & master cylinder.

This car is extremely more desirable, attractive, valuable and timeless compared to the 1996 model early in the clip.

I have a question about the side marker lights. Do they stay on when the directional lights are on? In other words, they light up the curb, and do not blink. We have a 62 that has been rewired so the side marker lights blink. I think the side marker lights should light up when the directional light is on, and stay on, but not blink.

Correct, the cornering lights should NOT blink, but stay on constant as long as blinker is on....and only when headlights are on.

My 67 Ford F100 Stepside Pickup had King Pins. I had that truck for 12 years and only needed a front end alignment one time and I beat the hell out of that truck.

Keep in mind cars did not have electronic brake assist in 62. That didn't happen until probably the mid to late 80s.

Something wrong with your brakes. I remember those as feather touch. My mother drove one, she had no problems stopping.

The reason of the right mirror in those days was to tell the wife she was too close to the cars on the right side .the right mirror was designed only for the passenger and thats why it was an option a verrrry rare option

There's something wrong with that car if it doesn't feel like it has power brakes.

The car is almost 60 years old the brake fluid is probably sludge with rust imbedded in the brake lines.

matrox you honestly think it's original brake fluid? If not it's a terrible joke. Plus electronic assisted brakes???? It has power assisted brakes, you don't know much about cars do you?

Yes. I drove a 63 Fleetwood with a 390 for 7 years for 7 years. Four speed hydramatic. It was a bit slow but plenty of torque and a real highway car.

It was new when they made the video; now it’s 25 years old.. Not a stylish year for Cadillac at all that year.. That thing looks like the box the 1962 came in.
