I agree Glenn. Thanks for watching too.
Dane that is a cool old GMC. And the Peterbilt looked good too.
Another great video Dane these trucks from back in the day had the best design so art deco... Look at them today all you see is. Fiberglass.
Definitely a really cool 😎 find!!
Gorgeous 359 Pete too!!
The story this ol gal could tell from the 50s until the 80s thanks for sharing 👍
What a cool truck👍
First of all, love the Verse from Peter. It really goes with old trucks, and life as well. This is a great old Jimmy too. I love the small collectors with their hidden gems. I love old trucks still in their survivor work clothes too. Another great video.

Another beautiful shop...with the right toys...it's a good day when guy opens his doors and shows you his toys...He has good taste...
That’s a cool looking GMC , nice setup, but 4/71 Detroit would be sweet. Thanks for taking us along. See you on next one Dane. 👋
Wow a 50 (51) Jimmy .. how cool is that! Got a covered bridge nearby too. Keep finding and uncovering gems like these
Boy that’s a neat old truck. Boy they didn’t have much for comfort in those old trucks. That’s neat he got it working with the Cummins gotta go with what’s available tho. He’ll be able to get parts for that easier at least. Hope the boy can drive it to school when the time comes.
hi Dane. Norwalk Truck Line had some of these Jimmy's back in the day.
What a neat old truck! 🔥🔥🔥
Really nice rig like that PETE too. Thanks for SHARING DANE
Good. Morning buddy hope you had a great weekend good to see you again take care buddy
Amen brother!
That year, still transitioning from pre-war art deco styling. From the gauges, and chrome trim on the dash to the headlight pods that are partially integrated.

MY FATHER WAS A CPA & BACK IN THE MID SIXTIES HE WAS INVOLVED WITH A GMC DEALERSHIP IN MI. I USED TO GO TO WORK WITH HIM ON SATURDAYS & DO ODD JOBS IN THE TRUCK GARAGE & TRAILOR SHOP !!! LOVED THE CRACKER JACK BOX TRUCKS & ALSO FELL IN LOVE WITH THE V-12 & V-6 GAS ENGINES !!! GREAT MEMORIES FROM MY TEENAGE YEARS !!! I OWN A 67 GMC ONE TON DUALLY WITH A V-6 ENGINE NOW . ALSO HAVE A 4cyl GM Diesel in my shop for overhaul at the moment , Keep up your fine work !!!
Also, I really like your videos!

Totally awesome ! Never paid attention how the cab was configured until he explained it ! & it was so simple ! I liked being schooled on these pioneers of trucking ! & that would look so cool with a lowboy trailer hauling his I-H Farmall behind it ! I really like the way the air line hoses hook up to the back of the cab ! & while it's neat it would be awesome to find a 53 or 54 5 window cab to put on it ! & the engine upgrade is really nice as well . Old Jim has my imagination running wild , & old school is cool again! Thanks for another great video , & content .

I agree VC, I love old Jim! Very cool old truck.
Amazing truck. I'd like to see some 4-door dodge d-300's if you ever come across them, then have them next to a d-800 or the CNT-950 "BIghorn"
My uncle the Buckeye Agitator drove a yellow one like that with black fenders

Some car transport company out of Kenosha. Any 50s or 60s truck with black fenders look cool even gasser R190s
Very awesome classic iron. I'm kind of wondering though why it would have a Cummins engine. A GMC without a Detroit seems kind of out of place, especially the earlier ones.
Sweet!
Very Kool
Nice one. Love the old wheels on the front. Probably not geared to do more than 50 MPH (at least Chevy and GMC pickups weren't!)

You’re right on 48-50
That would make a sweet 5th wheel hauler.
You should find a radio to put in the dash where the open is in the middle of the dash.
I had a 50 520 coe same cab as a pickup
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 I like the story behind the truck & the fact that it had an Ohio title still. Those old GMCs were quite cool.🥰 My dad had one like it & also had some interesting stories behind it as well…the trailer crashed going into NY tunnel, etc. Hey, I don’t care what engine it has in it…If it runs & rolls down the road then he can enjoy it some more. Better than sitting in the weeds & rusting away! Amen!!! Love the wheels! Very unusual! The fuel tanks were odd as well. I’ve never seen the saddle tanks that split like that. And he plans on reusing them? Wow! And his grandson wants to drive it as well? OooooWeeee! Did you enjoy riding in that thing or what! I love riding in the old trucks. Talking about a piece of history! Was it originally a 6 volt truck? Just wondering. My REO is still 6volt…for now. Good stuff!🥰🤩✌️

Better than NICE !
Lovely truck. Its should have been a Detroit Diesel in it(in my humble opinion)😁
That truck should have a 4 53 or a 671 screamin demon detroit

I’m pretty sure that parts for a DD-453 whether they’re new or sourced from a junkyard are probably few and far between. Besides, that 5.9 Cummins in stock form would run circles around the old engine
You didn't have to go far to look at that one. Some sort of shortish period flatbed trailer would look good behind it, but where would you drop on a good condition 1950s tarp?
GMC, Ford, Dodge shared their cabs with the half 3/4 ton cabs on 2.5 ton trucks or bigger.
I know that guy and his grandson
you try to find and this guy that lives out here in the Boise area close to the Oregon board that has a cherry 51 GMC
Why do them old bridges have roofs on the and side why were they not just open bridges ?
Sweet rig not sure about the flexi hose tho
I have two questions. Would either a 6V-92TA fit? Or the current 6.7L I6 or 8.3L Cummins fit?

@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE ok. Thanks for responding to me. You have a blessed rest of your week.
There's no way that 59 Cummins come out of a '70s model f600 650 because that engine didn't come out until the middle early to Middle 80s
Is that a Mico Brake Lock on the right side of the steering column? Looks like a chicken drumstick 🍗 What were they using this truck for originally?

Or maybe it has a Diamond 🔹"Dana" logo on it? I still don't know what it's for.
Beautiful truck, absolutely the wrong engine. Gm 671 or 6v53 or 71. Detroit all the way for that ole girl.
What’s its top speed?

So….how long til we hear of Joyride being peddled to bring this to live at the Trucker’s Lounge?😂(just teasing ya) Cool old Jimmy…..yes, the purists will cringe but that 5.9 B-series Cummins makes it a lot more livable! Very heartening to hear that his grandson has taken such a liking to it…

Well I gotta tell ya, Joyride has stolen my heart for sure. Don’t think it’s going anywhere. Of course sometimes I’ve been known to change my mind lol. I know, his Grandson gives us all hope lol. 👍
I enjoy the old trucks and the info but I have to say I dislike the black n white in your videos. I live it a color world and I don't want to see black n white. Just saying.
5.9 Cummins isn't good power. Kina wimpy.

For someone who finds evangelical Christianity and American patriotism two of the most odious and destructive ideologies on the planet, you lost me long before the truck content got rolling. Wow! Personal beliefs are just that, designed to be kept personal, as in not pushed on anyone.
