1948 International Rat Rod | Custom Built Truck
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
1948 International rat rod truck that was custom built and fabricated locally. I have seen this truck around a lot so I decided to shoot it for you. Looks to have a small block Ford engine and the owner said it is sitting on a Chevy S-10 frame with an air bag setup they configured them selves.

Sick truck. Owner of truck listed this online a while back. Here is the description: Truck is sitting on an 1992 S-10 chassis that's been shortened behind cab 7 1/2 in. Air ride on all 4 corners. All front end parts were replaced when this truck was put together almost 7 years ago. Motor has been bored .60 with all new pistons, rods, and crankshaft. Engine has been balanced. Double roller timing chain with roller tip rockers, and custom ground camshaft. Weiand tunnel ran intake with two 450cfm non-choke carburetors. Still features stock ignition. Rebuilt C6 transmission. Small compressor fills a 3 1/2 gallon tank. Gas tank is modeled after a tractor tank that we had replaced a few months ago. Brand new battery installed about a month ago. 15x7 and 15x10 wheels front and rear respectively. Fenders widened and bed narrowed. This truck has been excellent fun for me and my dad since we built it my senior year almost 7 years ago. It has been an absolute blast to drive, take to shows, and just overall enjoy. It is still quite the attention getter no matter where it goes. It is very much the true definition of a rat rod. It's uncomfortable over long distances, squeaks, rattles, and is devoid of any amenities apart from power steering and brakes. It completely lays flat when the bags are deflated to the point that it creaks. This truck was built to cruise, not race. It has held up very well and I would drive it anywhere as long there was a gas station close by.
I LOVE IT!!! THE PERFECT DAILY DRIVER!!!
I own this truck now and its still a blast to cruise!
INSANE TRUCK BRO ! GREAT VISION !

Awesome, i love trucks like this. I'm thinking of doing something like this in the near future but not sure, i have a donor car i want to do a drive train swap into something, but not sure what to. Also have an all original 1948 F5 in the barn that I might fix up.

DJ Inclined Sweet. The Ford F5 would be awesome, I kind of have the itch to build me a ramp truck out of an old truck. That F5 would be just right for that. Post the build on the forum...I would dig it.
cool truck.
Awesome truck,

+Hailey jastrzab Some people have tunnel vision and are only able to appreciate what is in their wheel house at that very moment. The sad part is that people that are like that will always be followers of what others create and never creators of cool them selves.
so bad ass I have one the same year on a Toyota chassis here in Australia I love the shape of them and the rat look suits this thing to a tee

Will the RTA make you rego it as an international or Toyota ? Reason I ask is Iv seen a Bedford J1 on an 90s f100 chassis and they made the guy comply with 90s compliance .
Did you chop the bottom an lean it forward I like the look
❤❤❤❤

I got my hands on a 1949 International KB2 and I really like these wheels I was wondering if you can tell me the bolt pattern needed to fit the international, i'd appreciate it - thank you!

The international was a 5×4.5 , similar to older fords, mopars and jeeps. In the comments it says it on a S10 frame, many are on S10's and dodge Dakota's. I plan to put an inline 6 oil burner in my newly acquired '49 kb-2. 👍🛠👀
Would have been awesome if the builder had put the 345 diesel from international. My dad has a 71 international scout II and he may do the diesel swap.
