This is definitely one of those cars at a car show that would steal a lot of attention away from everything else. It has so much character and heart put into it.

I LOVE it! It pisses off so many groups of people all at the same time. It pisses off Chevy guys because it has a Ford motor, pisses off Ford guys because it's a Chevy body, pisses off environmentalists for obvious reasons, and pisses off show car guys because it gets more attention than their fully restored car. Nothing he said was wrong oh even if that engine is used in other manufacturers it was pulled out of a factory Ford application and was presented to him by the owner as an engine pulled from a Ford so go cry in your pillow because your upset your still living at home with your mom and driving a broke ass 1996 Toyota Camry with a cracked window, mold in the carpet and your used ASS tampons in the back.

Y'know, i've watched this vid like 4 times now and each time I catch myself smiling like an idiot. What a cool truck.

I got to see this thing at Nebraska Diesel Show a few weeks back and this video doesn't really do it justice. That thing is amazing and has such a personality of its own. The guy who built it is a super cool dude too.

Wow, so many fails in the comments section. First off, is that all people do anymore is hate? I tip my hat to this guy, he's actually being creative and it's his taste. Not like he's trying to please anyone else. Secondly, that isn't even a Ford engine, it's an International DT444 which Ford used in their trucks, just like GM uses the Duramax which is made by Isuzu, and Dodge uses the Cummins. And lastly, is the 7.3 the best diesel? No, but in it's day it sure was one of the best! And for all we know, it may have been the only engine he could acquire at the time he was building the truck. I personally love the 7.3, and although the 5.9 Cummins is great, it's nice to see someone think outside the box and use something different than everyone else.

Meanwhile every prius driver is crying in a corner

That's actually one Bad Ass Rat Rod pickup, really creative with it, The button in the back, the gas filler in the side and the dual big pipe exhausts just keeping it rusty and original.

Rat Rods show more class, style and fun than any other car. It takes more to dream up stuff that works for these ancient beaters than cruising a parts catalogue with a MasterCard. Long live the Rat!!

Amen my first hotrod will be a rat rod (mainly cause that's all I can afford) but you can see the passion and love for them in the build and if you do it right you can daily drive them

This guy's from my hometown. i've seen it in person about 5 or 6 times. I freaked out when I first saw those stacks I could fit a basketball into, haha

Nope! Troy's wife also owns a rat rod. When I was at his shop today, (H&S Auto Repair in Lincoln, Nebraska), I think he said his son owns one as well. It's a pretty cool thing to do with your family -- build project cars and karts together.

I love that thing, especially the door bell button. I also like that the air suspension isn't just for show, it makes hooking up the trailer a whole lot easier.

Gonna be cool in world of Mad Max.

Although I run the risk of sounding like a fan boy, the Powerstroke swap is a let down. Either a Duramax (for the sake of keeping it GM oriented) or a 5.9 Cummins would have been a better choice. Nonetheless, I'd drive this thing every day if I could!

When I started this project I bought 7 trucks... 96 F250 which is 95% of the truck... and the rest is 2 47 Chevys. I originally was going to use a 47 International KB5... I wanted to be different with the PSD and not use a Cummins... and didn't have the money to buy a Duramax at the time.. we did build a truck for my son with a cummins... his is a 42 Ford with Compound turbos and making 35 MPG

That truck probably pulls that trailer just as quick down the quarter as without! Awesome!

Johnny HA Diesels put out less Carbon monoxide than petrol engines, its just that everything petrol engines emit is invisible. Having said that, a properly tuned Diesel would be the same, the black smoke is just carbon (soot) and is not half as bad for us or the environment as the CO and CO2 which are heating up the world (allegedly).

Some people are just materialistic idiots with no taste, they complain and spend their lives drooling over cars like Lambo's and Ferraris that they'll NEVER own. Pollution has nothing to do with any of it... What says you couldn't make a Rat-Rod from a Prius? It'd be gay as fuck, but it would be a real clean burn. And yes, Medial Fluxocity is correct to the best of my understanding; Diesels can make a much, much cleaner burn. Get your facts right and whine somewhere else. No one here is jealous of the cars you only wish you could afford.
