if you modify them properly they can run. With lightweight pistons and rods, stiffer valve springs they can rev to 6,000 and higher. But they will waste lots of fuel, make tons of smoke and see some drop in performance.

How did he achieve over 6k rpm without a lopey stutter from the p pump?

My KW semi truck makes 550 hp and 2050 tq and revs up to around 1500 rpm stock from a 15L Cummins ISX, so the fact that this rat rod makes the same power, revs higher, and weighs 26 times less than my semi is just insane!

Yeah but imagine now If you could or if it was possible to put the same amount of modifications into your 15L motor. It would blow the 5.9 out of the water.

I just bought a PriusV because I wanted a daily driver with enough room to fit lots of stuff but still fit in small parking spots, and if the environment benefits, so much the better. Now I see this whole world of Prius hate, wtf, it's just a car?! I like sick cars too. I don't realy see a problem with the cars in this video, as long as they're not rolling coal on me. I used to own a 77 Chrysler Newport with House of Kolor paint, fender skirts and a killer stereo. I wish I still had it, it rusted faster than I could weld. I'd still drive it for fun, but not great as a daily driver. No one's driving their kids to school in smoke-belching rat rods every day.

it isn't so much the hate of the car, it is the hate of the people driving them. So many environmentalists thinking their cars do no harm to the air quality and diesels causing most the harm where it is just the opposite. Lead battery production is extremely toxic whereas diesels actually the least harmful on the environment cuz the smoke is 99 some odd percent carbon. Even rolling coal at a sustained rate as in this video it would be like having a big bonfire and leaving the ashes on the ground. The ashes will eventually soak into the earth and be turned to dirt.
