1938 JI CASE CC - WILL IT RUN?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I go over some needed checks that need to be done on my 1938 JI Case CC that I recently purchased at auction. The widow that sold it said that it had not ran in over 10 years. The video covers operation and maintenance of a Case CC which will be similar to a Case DC and SC. Thanks for watching and please hit that subscribe button!

With Pa's '33 CC Case, we set the crank near 9-10 o'clock, stood on the left of the tractor, placed our hand on top of the crank with all fingers and thumb over the top. DO NOT GRASP THE CRANK LIKE HOLDING A GLASS. with the thumb over the top with the fingers, pull back on the crank. If it back fires, it will pull the crank from your hand but you will save your fingers and thumb. It will usually start near the first two cylinders firing. And, the disengage mechanism will spin free of the crank handle. Thank you for sharing this case model with us. It brought back many memories from the 1960's.

Great video. I have a 1936 Case CC just like yours. I haven't run it in 13 years but it ran and drove well back then and one of these days I'll get it fired up again. Thanks for all the tricks on spark, throttle, and choke positions for starting because it's been so long I forgot! I feared for your life when you were turning the crank. Like the other commentors said, try to stand away from the crank as far as possible, then pull the crank up to about the 10:00 position and you just want to pull it up over past the 12:00 position TDC until you hear the click, then immediately let go of the crank and get your crank arm out of the way as fast as you can so the thing can't attack you. A Farmall F-20 crank almost removed my arm from my body once when it kicked back and whacked my arm with incredible force. Yes, all fingers and thumb together on the top side of the crank handle so the crank can easily slip out of your hand if it kicks back. I bought a pair of the CC rear axle extensions on Ebay also which, when installed, make the rear very wide, which is great on hilly land. Keep up the good work!

The Pto is up front on the right hand side. The linkage in the back was for the power lift for lifting equipment such as the cultivator or attached lister. The Pto must be running to use the power lift. The switch is aftermarket, there was a tab on the original magneto to ground it out or just shut the fuel off. For safety reasons always stand off to the left of the tractor when starting, if you stand over or fail to release the crank when you pass tdc it could kick back and break your arm! Sounds just like a Case, nothing sounds quite like them.
