Cold War Motors gave your Stude some air time on their weekly drop, it's got me excited that you and your content have left a good impression on one of the best paint and body channels! To be fair, I think your interiors may have given him some encouragement when he reupholstered the '60 Fury.

On that old Grant wheel, if you want to stabilize it, try penetrating epoxy. CPES is a good formula. Apply it and let it soak in. Just before it kicks off completely (while it'll takes a finger print, tacky) apply Min-Wax polyurethane varnish. I suspect semi gloss would be good. Needs to be Min-Wax to work with CPES. It'll create a a bonded finish that is durable and most weather resistant. If you want darken the wood prior to CPES, use alcohol based die like dark walnut. As soon as you hit it with the CPES it'll pop color wise. I use a scotch brite pad between varnish coats, but bronze wool works well too. No steel wool as it'll make rust spots in the varnish as it ages ...

I just got my beloved MGB out of the storage it's been in since the first COVID lockdown. Your recent videos on the hot rod are the encouragement I need to finally tackle the restoration of the interior. It's black with velour seats right now which was "year correct", but I'm going to ignore the people who insist on keeping it original and go for red with leather seats.

I always enjoy your videos and have learned a ton from you over the years of watching. I never witnessed some of the things like adapter plates to connect obsolete motors and transmissions that you build. You amaze me and motivate me to do more metal fab projects around my place. Was wondering what happened to your homemade motorcycle? I dont remember a video of it being driven. That project was also amazing! Thank you for sharing your videos and your knowledge. I never get tired of watching.

A possible easier way to do the carpet is to lay it crossways. Fit it over the hump and cut all the edges straight to the body. Cut it straight across at the rear edge and put a welt on the cut edge. Do the rear section the same way but lay it under the front section. May have to do a couple relief cuts in places and sew those up or use carpet fusing tape, but less work than going the whole length. Cars from the 60-80's had two piece carpets.

Jonathan, I'm sure a lot of people have already told you but it is nice to see more car videos lately. I enjoy the steam engines but I've been pining for the good old days. I'm waiting for the steam engine car, I'm sure you can find you an old steam engine auto, Put out some feelers and I'll bet you can get a lead on something just right for a guy who is not afraid of fixing something. Whatever you do I'll be watching. 😀✌❤

i believe u can use chalk on carpet to lightly mark out lines/cuts if that helps, sewing shops sell a little chalk wheel pizza cutter type deal to help mark (lay out patterns) on fabrics and carpets. then after its finished you can vacuum of wash the chalk away easily long as you don't over do the chalk :) just an idea hope it helps in future! :)

Since that metal piece lives below the door, I believe it's called a "Threshold". ???? I've seen lots of carpets with a color matched vinyl piping at those cut/seam points. Don't know what the sewing procedure is for using the piping but it results in a pretty nice looking "joint". Watched this entire build when you did it. If memory serves, I've seen people use JBWeld to repair the cracks in the steering wheels. They used to also have "restoration" kits. Without question, you ended up with a very nice looking car!!! Enjoy !!! 👍👍👍✌🖖⚙🛠🗜🔩🔨😉😉
