The 1980's cars are very ugly. The 1920's and 1930's large engine cars are beautiful, and the engines are far cooler than anything that came after. Cadillac made a V16.

When Jay stopped the car at the end that guy breathed a huge sigh of relief and then two more after that! I think he was pretty worried about his baby on the road. He loves it for sure.

I really enjoyed this gentleman, very humble considering how much work and effort he put into it. He knows about his car as well, not just random facts the guy is intelligent and knowledgeable. Nice work sir.

Wish I had more friends like Jerry. Seems like a genuinely nice guy - and terribly talented.

As a Packard fan, I'm just in awe of this vehicle. When they opened the side and I seen that motor gleaming just wow! What wonderful work, and dedication to recreate such a vehicle. I myself can not afford a Packard, so I have to live vicariously through others, and this one was a thrill.

You can afford a Packard!! Just not a senior model. A late 30's through 50's junior model is very affordable. I love my 1938 Packard Six Coupe and did not spend a lot to get it.

The best part about this car is that it is driven and a hundred years from now it could still be driven.

This was a fun show. Jay's guest today is one of those creative types. He has a twinkle in his eye.

Whenever I see a fine machine like this, the word "motorcar" immediately pops into my head. A forgotten word that I think goes perfectly with these great old machines. Incredible re-creation!

Beautiful car. This is exactly the type of thing this channel needs more of, pre war excellence (especially Packard!)

If you ever find yourself near Dayton Ohio I highly recommend visiting the Packard museum. Beautiful cars from all eras + a few Packard aircraft & marine engines. Packard built RR Merlin (P51 Mustang engine) V 2500 v12 (PT109 engine) Liberty V12, even have a Packard built turbine engine. Works of art on wheels, masterful engineering and craftsmanship.

What a great episode! Jerry is one cool/accomplished man! Had some really rare gigs and knows how to put together a tremendous piece of rolling art! Really nice chemistry in this episode too!

I get emotional watching these. Such a beautiful piece of art and all the work and passion that went into it.

Beautiful work, this guy put heart and soul into a classic build. He made something that will last a long time. The preservation of past and know how of these classics is just awesome. I'd say he assembled a Packard from the parts bin of the world, and not a recreation, but an assembly. The style and look is perfect.

agreed, a bike rider like Jay should know that even at 40mph, a bug in the eye can be extremely painful, please Jay- goggles!

My father is currently making this exact car from all original packard parts. My grandfather once upon the time was the largest packard parts dealer in the western half of the United states. He sadly passed away just over 2 years ago. He sold most of what he had, so sadly we only inherited 2 Packards. This 1929, and a 1953 clipper. RIP Gary Wendell Brinton

I think the beauty would be lost in a cacophony of daily traffic if every car was still made to look beautiful. Classic cars were once just thought of as outdated junkers before time gave us some perspective. It's the contrast between then and now coupled with the rarity of seeing them that really helps us appreciate them now.

Jay Leno seems to know everything about every car that was ever made. Here he demonstrates that he knows the wheelbase size of these 90 year old Packard's. Astonishing! As a teenager I bought a 1948 Packard. It was also a straight eight. Loved that car. I only paid $20 for it.

That guy's moustache is legendary.

That oil level gauge is something all new cars should have. I know a few cars had them in the 80s and 90s but its such a no brainer of a thing to have.

The original is faster due to aluminum body panels.

I'm very surprised Jay didn't jump on this one it's the most complete copy of the original car ever done and it would look so good in his Packard line up

I enjoy seeing your collection and your guest's cars. Many of us love the old cars, but so many of them are disappearing into private garages and rarely see the light of day. I know their value and rarity makes many owners reluctant to drive or show them. Thanks Jay for sharing these cars with us.

Old guy here... Beautiful car! Fun to watch

I love Packards, anything Packard, even the engine placed in the P51!! The Packard Speedster was a fave of mine!! Built a model of the speedster when I was 6... I did a great job on that paint job!! I just LOVE the sound the P51 makes on a high speed flyby!! Thanks for displaying this Gem of history!!
