She's playing hard to get, "You ain't getting lucky for free just because you answered the call big boy" lol..poor quality as to managing camera, but excellent job attempting to capture the moment, we get to see & share rut behavior.. my deer I walk with are DEFINITELY showing signs of the season.. the big old 5-6 year olds are coming out, the older does are heading to the older bucks who hide. To watch deer age, hold smaller "concentrated territories" as they get more experienced, know their territory & routines, get bigger bodies to defend their territory ..just amazing animals.. I've come to another understanding of these magnificent creatures. My 5½yo matriarchal doe Zoe(& her prior lineage over 20 yrs) have allowed me to follow them & stand alongside while going about their daily natural activities. To be able to walk w/whitetails is such a precious experience, seeing how they use suburban development to their advantage for nurseries and rearing territories. The combination of wetlands/ridges/flats/woodlots/suburban development & agricultural lands immediately outside of town comprised the perfect territory for my local herd.. we have beautiful 8-12 point bucks that are just huge bodied..give them 6->8 years, they "bloom" into hulks!🦌 This
