19. How to Make Stunning Faux Opal Dichroic Glass Pendants Easily with Scrap Glass

Opals are such beautiful stones and I wanted to replicate them using dichroic glass. You can get all sorts of opals such as white opal, firestone opal, black opal, australian opals etc. Here I show you how to make faux opal pendants from your scrap dichroic glass. The end results are AMAZING and you can make these easily once you have watched this video.
Firing schedules. These may vary depending on your kiln.
Full fuse used for both with and without molds

Hola Thank you for your kind comments. You can buy molds from Warm Glass if in the UK. Their shipping cost is very reasonable to the UK. Hope that helps :)

Can you purchase a singe mould to fit in the microwave kiln?

Hi Poison. Yes there are lots of individual moulds you can buy. If you google search "single glass fusing moulds" you will find loads. :)

I've just started using dichroic glass in my microwave kiln, other tutorials say not to let bits of dichroic glass touch each other as they can repel each other, I take it that doesn't happen so much with the smaller pieces?

Hi Charlotte. Yes pretty much. Its the parts without dichroic that fuse together. So with all these small pieces facing different directions then there is plenty of opportunity for those parts to fuse. Plus the mold holds everything in place. Hope this helps. :)

Are you heating it to fuse it or adding epoxy?

Hi Jacklynn. No epoxy - just fusing. I use glue on the bail thats all. :)
