He could not save the army because of Abdulhamid. He was planning attack and save army from execution or surrender but Abdulhamid refused that plan and he surrendered after some wave attacks of Russians.

As I've navigated along the comments I noticed that many people defined Ottoman Empire as a dying man or sick man in Europe etc. So I would like to ask these people if Ottoman Empire is as weak as you portrayed, why it managed to come and conquer Europe from Athens to Vienna? The most accurate adjective to define Ottoman Empire is the "Third Roman Empire founded and ruled by Turks." After the age of empires is over, it receded in favor of the nation-state of today's modern Turkey. This very similar process has occurred in France, Russia, and Austria.

Its called that because that is what it was, the old dying sick man of Europe. Once strong, now weak and weakened from the interior. And about Vienna, ottomans lost there if I recall. Yeah, nobody is arguing the empire was not strong, it was. My people where under the influence of the ottomans for centuries. But it all ended, did it not ?

When you are fighting with almost 7 different nations at the same time, you can be defeated at some point. But we are still here for 1000 years and we have never been completedly lost.. Ukraine is not alone. Almost all countries are with them. But we were always alone, we are Turks, and the glory days will come to us again, history repeats itself.

​@@torabbu986 What i meant is, at that time, we were alone. Yes, Ottoman Empire was consisting of Arabs,Greeks, Armenians and many different cultures. But the majority is Turk, and formal nationality is kinda Turk again. But there was no nationalism at that times like now it to be. But around 1700-1900, it was very hard times because of nationalism was rising. I call Turk, because people have to believe this reality. Allah created us for fighting. And eventually we got the khilafat for this reason. And what i saw from history, when Turks around, there is no such other country who could replace us. So Arabs and other muslim countries must learn to follow our lead again. Because this is our nature. we know how to fight and conquest. But it does no mean, we are superior nation or something like this. Arabs has other pros, or some other countries has other pros. But when we talk about military or battle, we are better and even maybe best. This is historical fact.
