18 Animated Characters Changed In Other Countries
Фильм және анимация
These animated movie characters look totally different in other parts of the world! Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant
When you think of your favourite animated characters, you'll no doubt have certain looks, certain voices and, obviously, certain names in mind - and you probably think everyone on the planet sees and hears those characters in exactly the same way.
But that's not actually the case at all - far from it, as a matter of fact.
Given the nature of animated characters, it's fairly simple to alter them for different audiences - and special effects wizards around the world take advantage of that fact in order to cater to different demographics.
Characters in the likes of Cars, Planes, Moana and the Shrek series have all been customised to suit certain countries better - and in this video, we'll be taking you through eighteen such examples.
The characters in question include the likes of; the news anchor from Zootopia (2016), the heroine of Planes (2013), Minty Zaki and Dr. Brad Scott from Wreck-It Ralph (2012), Harv from Cars (2006), Jeff Gorvette from Cars 2 (2011), the hockey team from Inside Out (2015), the titular character Moana from Moana (2016), and Doris the Ugly Stepsister and the Red Carpet Announcer from Shrek 2 (2004).
You'll just have to watch the video to find out what aspects of these characters were changed, as well as which other characters were altered in different countries - you might be surprised at some of the inclusions!
We hope you enjoy the video! Please leave a comment letting us know what you thought about it. And don't forget to subscribe to Screen Rant's KZread channel, so you never miss our great new video uploads in the future.

changing riley's dad from watching hockey to soccer doesn't make sense though because their family is from minnesota where hockey is extremely popular, riley even plays hockey and one of her core memories is playing hockey with her dad. it doesn't make sense for the dad to be randomly thinking about a soccer game when the family otherwise has no ties to soccer.

Half of these changes make no sense. IDK why they even bother changing voice actors when going from the USA, to Canada or to the UK. Sure one actress or actor may be more popular in a different country, but I still see no reason to change them. Even the Buzz Lightyear with the American flag. It's a movie that takes place in the USA, no need to change it. Just unnecessary changes to me.

How about “Whisper of the Heart?” That’s my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE one! Heck, this is how I started learning Japanese! I was watching a blu ray copy of it, (that I had borrowed from my local library, until I ended up getting my own copy) which had the ORIGINAL Japanese version) with French subtitles, and fell IN LOVE with the song! I thought; “Wait a minute here! I think that I can TOTALLY learn this! I just need time and patience!” So… I then did a little research, and found a KZread video, that I downloaded onto my phone and iPad, that had the lyrics in Japanese, English and Romanji. All I did to learn it was: I reread the Romanji one line at a time, over and over again, until I got the pronunciation down in time to the tune. I then went on to the next line, got that one down, then reviewed it with the previous one, so on and so on, until I got the whole song down. Heck, it ONLY took me a month to master it!
This would be more interesting if it explained why they made these changes.

Hey guys! I have something to add about the Dori announcer. I'm Russian and I was very surprised when I heard Nikolay Drozdov, a very famous Russian zoologist. He's hosting a tv show about nature for 42 years now. I felt super old at that time... Have a nice day!
6:42 small correction, most of the Italian words that end with "ino" or "one" are a single word which has multiple-word meaning. So it's "Topo" (mouse), "Topolino" (small mouse) or "Topolone" (big mouse). Us Italians just put "ino" or "one" at the end of the name of an object to say that it's big or small, like "Tavolone" instead of "Grande tavolo" (big table).
@aricelacuneo7513
Жыл бұрын
Its just about the same with spanish, where we have things like "ito", "ita" and "ote," for example. Like take table for example. In spanish its "Mesa" Mesita=small table Also big, "grande". Grandote= really big And small, "pequeño" Pequeñito(a)=really small/tiny. Although "ito" can refer to masculine, and "ita" is femenin.
In Planes this character is russian plane in... well Russia :D And in Finding Dori voicing of the same role goes to Nikolay Drozdow who is well known zoologist who had his own tv program

Not sure if you noticed. The original voice actors are not really used for most part when movies are being dubbed. Names often also change based on country but you do you.
When I heard him say "2016's cars..." I was in so much disbelief I had to play that part 20 times with captions on just to take in such a mistake. At least they put the correct date of 2006 in the description.
The Fairy Godmother was also voiced by different people in the German and Austrian Version of the movie.
When you forget jeremy clarkson was in cars and you realise you should have remembered...
Everything aside, I got an iPad ad that said “a brand new flavor of iPad“
Cars 1 is a 2006 Movie Cars 2 a 2015 Movie and Cars 3 a 2017 Movie.
Howl's moving castle is my favorite movie. Where i am from it is called "Det levende slot" which means the living castle
Donkey was voiced by Eddy Murphy in the US but in Mexico he was voiced by Eugenio Derbez who is a very big comedian and tv producer with a very funny voice so it was an amazing dub in Spanish just as is in English
I’m from Sweden. And it’s funny, because Mickey Mouse has a weird name in Swedish. The obvious translation in Swedish would be “Micke Mus”. But for some reason we chose to name him “Musse Pigg” which means Musse Alert in English. I don’t know why, Sweden is a weird country!🇸🇪
Hey, about that the movie Wreck it Ralph 2. The Eboy voices by different cast. One voice by Sean Glambrone, but for the UK version, it was a KZreadr called DANTDM voice the Eboy.
Actually, Jeremy Piven (4:30) has a tenuous hold on the world of cars: in a scene late in the movie, "The Crew," he's on the lam in a Porsche and ends up being chased back to town by a fellow police detective he's been trying to get back with (but she hates his guts for the slime-ball he is) and a whole fleet of police cruisers. This little known comedy is a total hoot and one of my favorite movies. Look it up!
Winnie the Pooh’s voice in japan is absolutely scary
Well, if you watch polish version of any animated movie, you will see that a lot of dialogues have been changed. Generally because the orginal ones can't be translated properly, or just to make it funnier by adding some juicy jokes 😉
E-Boy was vocied by Daniel Middletown (popular youtuber) in the UK version of Wreck-it-Ralph 2.
Bumblebee man: *In a very thick American accent* "Hey qué día miserable a trabajo." Me, a Mexican: "¿Qué?"
8:10 so the UK was ok with swords but not nunchucks?
Pretty much the entire cast of Magic Roundabout (it was also renamed Doogal!)
Also in finding Dory there is a scene where Dory sees the name ‘Destiny’ on a bucket and slides in. However not everywhere ’Destiny’ has the same name. So they changed the scene to suit the name used in that country
Lol I just watched Wreck-It Ralph yesterday😂
The way he pronounced Hayao Miyazaki 💀 I’m crying
When Jeremy Clarkson voices harv in cars: Oh, no... Anyway.
We’ve all seen 2016’s Cars... hahaha! I like spotting the mistakes in these videos. It’s like hunting for Easter eggs in Pixar movies. Like 2016’s Cars!
Watching these hearing the release dates makes me feel old and I’m only in my teens 😭
I'm really confused I've seen this video In my recommended for like months, why does it say it was posted 3 days ago
I'm from sweden, and i yeah, i thought sausage party was a kids movie. But after seeing that used condom with left overs in it...... hmm yeah i'm not so sure anymore

@@brattfacetasha Apparently there was a famous pornstar in Italy called Moana that died in 1994 so they had to change the name to Vaiana, so that kids wouldn't find her instead when they are looking for the Disney movie online. Also there was another movie called Moana made before that one so they had to change the title, because "No two movies can have the same title. They can only have the same title if one is the original and one the remake."

Sweden’s age rating on Sausage Party is really weird. Even worse is that the people who decided the rating seems to have completely missed the ending to the movie🤦♀️ And now with the movie Good Boys they’ve put a weird rating again because that’s also from 11 years here. (I’m from Sweden) But they put the rating from 15 years on Suicide Squad and on that movie I feel like 15 is too much, but 11 is too little. So I don’t get why Sweden doesn’t have a rating that is from 13 years

9:31 No, it’s have a good travel.
It would've been nice to hear some of the different voices...
Moana is also called Vaiana in Germany btw. Uter (Simpsons) is from Switzerland in the German version and given a heavy swiss accent :D
The Zootopia change is probably my favorite. Its pretty cool seeing each country yse an animal that represents them on some level.
