    Tom ty for the compliments. i do have crown molding installed but it's painted the same color as the ceiling & walls so hard to notice. the room is in the basement and the ground has a moderate tilt (towards the drain in another room in case of flooding) so i never bothered with baseboard molding.

    What a clean build. I can't believe that's a 140" screen though. Is that a 7' ceiling? I want to do a 150" 16:9 and that would be 130"x73" (134"x74" framed).

    yes, 7' ceiling. i've actually since changed the screen to 157" (16:9) with velvet masking for scope movies. it gives the pseudo imax feeling for 16:9 and keeps the screen as wide as the room allows for scope, i love it!

    Love how clean the front wall looks. You have done a great job with your theater Jonathan. I remember when I upgraded from a 103" Elite Screen to a 150" AT Screen and like you said, not only is it completely immersive, but having the sound come directly behind the screen is incredible. Subscribed. ;) I really wish I would have documented my entire journey with video instead of just photos in the AVS Forum. Keep up the great work.

    Youthman thank you. i have a couple of videos showing progress on the room that are further back in my channel but yeah most people aren't as interested watching 2x4's & wiring get installed haha. when i bought the projector is when i felt like i should video the room's changes over time. i still have plenty more i want to do too. i want to install 2 more atmos channels directly overhead (speaker drops already there), fix the side & rear surround height, put a felt border on the screen, create screen masking for cinemascope movies, upgrade the projector, upgrade the surrounds, better acoustical treatments, real seating (possibly a 2nd row)... it feels never-ending but it will eventually.

    Like I've commented on your other videos, you have a badass room! I have question though, why is your projector at 19' away? Is it just your preference to have it at he back of the room? I have a 132" screen and my Epson 3500 is about 13' away from the screen and i run it on Eco mode and natural. I didn't think you would have to go so far back for 140" screen.

  • @aaromon43

    @aaromon43

    5 жыл бұрын

    Alberto G i used to have the projector 13' away when the screen was smaller (110"). that throw distance was not enough for 140" so i needed to find a new home for the projector. i chose the back wall because it's made of masonry block and the projector won't vibrate/bounce from the bass like it would have had i mounted it to the ceiling closer to the screen. it was previously mounted to the main support beam for the house and it still shook a bit (not it doesn't shake at all). yes this means that i have to run the projector brighter to make up for the throw distance but i'm really happy with it. another benefit is i don't hear it running as it was directly overhead before. also - the day will come when your UHP lamp starts to flicker from running it in ECO mode (they all do it eventually). the only "fix" is either a new lamp, or run in full lamp power. mine already had that issue after a couple hundred hours and i've been running high lamp ever since.

  • @betitos11

    @betitos11

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@aaromon43 - Yeah that makes sense. Plus you can never have too much bass : ) I been lucky and haven't had the flickering yet. Im on my second lamp at a little over 2k hours i think. My original lamp i changed it out at like 6600 hours of use and about 2 years. It was still going but i changed it before it went out. You have a badass theater dude👍
