I understand that argument but that's also been the argument of anyone who's ever stolen music, ever. (Or software for that matter.) When Napster was the thing everyone said either "I would never pay that for an album" or "If I like enough of the songs, I will go out and buy the album." People really did not. It's a really weird balance of interests.

The song was written long before Henley wrote a song. It goes back to Del Shannon’s 1963 release.

Just for the record I'm 77 in July and well aware that Don Henley was in grade school just like I was when Handy Man was composed and had lots of AM radio play. Jimmy Jones Handy Man was a very big hit. I was only suggesting that when I saw that Lee's posting was blocked and not yet knowing what song he had played that was blocked my first thought was that Mr. Henley had something to do with this. But it was fun reading both of your comments.

It was blocked because of Warner Music Group copyright. Oligarchy and art are like mixing oil and water.

Appears WMG has this song blocked globally. Not JT’s call…makes no sense but there is almost nothing one can do….

you still can dispute and plea for fair use, but by the time it will be done, you will probably already have uploaded a dozen of videos over it and if for wathever reason, you dont win it, it will translate in a copyright strike. yt is just getting crappier with time.

It was probably blocked by some very experienced young analyst with vast historical knowledge of the music industry...upset that someone (!) was trampling on a James Taylor copyright! If you asked them to read the album/sleeve...their eyes would glaze over.

I saw the title and was so looking forward to watching, as Handy Man was one of the earliest songs I can remember actually putting on the turntable as a kid. I had the 45 and played it over and over again. You may have to come up with an alias a la "Grinnin' Face"... maybe "Custodial Engineer" or "Tim the Tool Man Taylor" or "I Don't Give a Fuck What You Do, Mrs. Olson, I'm Just Trying to Fix the Fuckin' Leak." ASCAP and MCI (and others) are massive rackets, Lee. We all appreciate the effort you put into sharing your music. You hit the nail on the head. You won't make money off sharing with the world the genius of your artistry, but the publishing companies and unions will get a few bucks when people are motivated to buy the music. I've become VERY disillusioned with the Musical Industrial Complex in the last 10 or 15 years. The music means nothing to them, only the dollars. It makes me wonder how much truly great music we have missed out on because some music executive decided it wasn't "de rigeur" at that moment. There should be no moments. With Taylor Swift's recent successes, which she fully deserves, all we're going to have for the next few years is producers bringing us an endless string of Taylor Swift copycats trying to cash in on her success. It didn't used to be that way, but it has been that way since the 80s when music started to suck. I haven't paid for recorded music ever since for that reason.

I'm almost getting to where I can recognize when it's Leland playing on a record now without being told..and it's because of these play alongs that has caused me to be able to detect his signature sound on base now .l was listening to some old toto albums this weekend and I knew that had to be him.Those records showcase his distinctive sound for sure
