    I definitely agree with the no music while riding! I can't focus when I'm trying to ride with music on, plus i like to hear to the motor and exhaust of my bike.

    Ah, my favorite adventure river crossing at 2:10 appropriately named the "Awww SSHHHII" river crossing. Thanks for another great video RIDE Adventures, great lessons as always.

    The illusion that that River presented was unbelievable. From the edge, it looked no more than a foot deep the whole way. Unbelievable. Thanks for commenting, more videos ahead.

    When I traveled through Turkey a couple years ago, I was told by fellow Americans to avoid the Syrian border (and Turkey in general). Got the chance to visit Nemrut Dagi, almost had enough time to check out Gobekli Tepe but unfortunately too many miles to crunch. I enquired to our Kurdish host at the Nemrut Dagi visitor center about ISIS in the area, and he responded with “oh, we’ve kicked them out for over 5 years now.” I rode away with gorgeous sites and fantastic mountain roads to remember.

    Excellent! And yea, a good reminder that sometimes.....maybe sometimes......"that which we see in 'the news' is overblown, and exaggerated." Glad you got to see at least 1 amazing site in Turkey though. Anytime Graham Hancock or Randall Carlson are on Joe Rogan......I know what I'm watching : ) Thanks for commenting. --- Eric

    Great tips! Thanks! Stay hydrated. It's easy to become dehydrated when riding and it can lead to fatigue, loss of attention and delayed reaction time. It can sneak up on you and you probably won't realize you're becoming dehydrated.

    Good one we haven't mentioned enough. Like allowing oneself to get cold, dehydration slows us down for sure. All that air moving around, easy to not notice when adrenaline is present and water isn't. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the video. Always good to review these things. Another one - Pick the right bike. I sometimes see novice ADV riders buying huge heavy bikes as their entry into the ADV world. Better to get something smaller and lighter, build up skills and confidence, then buy the dream bike later. Less is often more. Cheeers

    This video is a MUST for anyone embarking on adventure. For me personally #1 and #6 are the most important. I got the 790 R after watching Eric’s review and I’m still getting comfortable after 4000kms. And technical offroad is exhausting unless you’re an Enduro champ…no rush to finish the trail, take your time. Happy riding!

    If you are new to Adv Riding take heed of this advice, its the best I've heard or seen on the internet in any genre of motorcycling. This is 'to live by' advice in a sea of some very doubtful or half arsed advice from some very differently motivated self-appointed, self-satisfied 'experts' and 'instructors'.

    Great advice... Third eye = Situational Awareness. One thing I have to constantly remind myself of is "Which side of the road should I be on?'. So easy to pull out of a scenic stop on a deserted road and end up on my 'usual' side of the road. ...

    Good stuff. Things you should always at least consider. Over the years Ive learned that I really dont care for riding with others. Its a lesser experience for me. The trade off is that I am necessarily more cautious about the risks I take and turn back or reroute much earlier than I would with a partner or team. I tried music on an early long trip where I knew I had to cross some flyover area...nope. Just cant do it. It makes that "zone" you mention impossible for me to achieve.

  • @RIDEAdventures

    @RIDEAdventures

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yea, bit of a trade-off riding alone. We meant to mention in the video the obvious "safety in numbers" benefit of ...... "if you have a crash," but hope folks can figure that on their own. We totally support Self-Guided/Solo riders though, as being Self-Guided/Solo is actually a large part of how RIDE Adventures came to exist in the first place. --- That "zone" is definitely a place that has its own music anyway :) so thanks for commenting. ---- Eric
