St. Augustine is quite a charming place any time of year. It's the oldest continually occupied (by non-indigenous) city in the US.

One day that bouncer at the bar with the band playing will realize that he was in the presence of greatness holding a camera phone. If that was me that velvet rope would have dropped so quick to get Lee to come in and hear the band and order anything. I am pretty sure someone in that band would of noticed who was standing there and yelled at the bouncer.

My in-laws are from St .Augustine & I’ll never forget my first visit . The history alone! It’s definitely nothing like south Florida ! I’d say go to the “Fountain of Youth”but you definitely don’t need it!!! Safe travels!✌️♥️

👍👍 This was great!!!! I have actually been to St. Augustine (not Fort Lauderdale), but all I remember is the fact that it's the oldest European/African settlement in the US, the amazing color of the water during the day, and the fortress. Don't remember seeing anything like this.

I don't imagine you have the time, but the Ghost Walk tour is amazing.

If you’re going to be there tomorrow try to go to the Saint Photios shrine. It’s an island of meditative calm on a historic but busy street there, and really beautiful.

You are quite the night owl! And a decent sounding Thin Lizzy cover band!

I just did this tour over a week ago on a trolley and your video and highlights was way better. I had never see the Night of Lights and, in hindsight, I would have done it on my own and walked different parts of it, even if it took separate nights. The trolley tour was disappointing, the traffic so congested, and we couldn’t experience seeing the lights and taking it all in.

I was lucky enough to live their for a few years. Hated moving but job required it.

Seeing the Palm Trees lite up reminded me of Jimmy Buffet's Mele Kalikimaka. And hearing the Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak was classic! Phil Lynott's spirit makes a cameo! (The Bouncer was giving you the side eye - probably had no idea who he was looking at!)

I play gigs up there every once and so- the old architecture is the bee's knees!!

It a great place to visit

St. Augustine is THE oldest city in the USA. Founded by Spain, it was a thriving metropolis150 years BEFORE the British were starving and freezing to death in Jamestown, VA! Castillo de San Marcos is a major highlight.

Everytime that bouncer glared at you, Leland, you should have said, "Aaaaargh, me hardy!" 😮 🎉

I live here. It sucks. Stop visiting. Stop moving here. What he's not showing you is the hour it takes to park. The droves of people. You have to wait in line for almost anything. The city does the "nights of lights" for about 2 months every year, and they and the business owners make a ton of money. Meanwhile local residents and laborers get shafted with double the work and headache of legions of tourists. Ask any local and they'll tell you they avoid downtown like the plague
