I had a cat that I grew up with from 4-21 yo (my age) and she was like a mini dog. She was also either a siberian or a main coon (we don't know since SPCA rescue) but she was the best

The fact that she pushed the chair over to the countertop to climb up and lay down is amazing.😂😂😂😂

Right?! Looks insane! If they hadn’t showed him getting up I would almost belive someone had lift him up there. However I firmy belive that some dogs just think they’re (or maybe ”identifies as”🤭) a cat, just like this one, we have one of those at home too. He’s a lot smaller though - just about 13 lbs😅 He: • jumps and sleeps on tables (if there’s a chair pulled out that he can jump up to and then from that to the tabel) • sleeps on and casually walks on the sofas backrest and armrests • loves to lay on his back and play by having you ”tickle” his belly and him trying to catch your hand with his front paws and kicking with his back paws - just like cat’s do. • prefer cat food and milk over his own super expensive dog food • wants to lay and sleep on top of you • can jump crazy far, much longer then our other ones that is the same breed and size. • is super graceful in his movements. Like he jumps and moves so smoothly. • have crazy good balance and can for example stand super stable on his back legs and walk easy on super narrow passages Im sure I could make this list longer but this is what I got at the top or my head. Pretty much everyone who meets him asks if we or the breeder have cats, the answer is no - he have never lived or played with cats 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Very kind. And no judgement about the counter top surfing.

Its easy to get upset over things with our kids or pets when they do something that might look like “bad behavior” but if we stop and think about it, most of the time it’s done out of pure innocence and silliness. I try to always remind myself of this and it’s made life so much better, especially since I was raised to always maintain myself with perfect behavior as a child. As long as nobody is getting hurt,disrespected etc, embrace the unexpected.

I would never fault the dog for doing something that I don’t want unless one already trained it (and then it’s a matter of stopping them and not punishment). For me personally, a kitchen counter is only used for food prep and as dogs walk outside, lick their private parts and shed, I wouldn’t allow it. It’s also vey unsafe for dogs (slippers for their paws, not enough room for a big Newfie especially) and all tables and chairs are reserved for humans in my household. If I had a dog that loves sleeping up high, I’d try to build them a safe place or make them a safe place on the ground instead.

One of my favorite stories on your channel because: 1) still trying to figure it out😂and, 2) her human partner is so cool with it. For what it's worth, I think Cocoa knows this is where a lot of happy things happen and she's soaking up the energy. Plus the eye level thing. Plus, dogs are smarter than we are, so will always be an element of mystery...💕🐕

I faithfully went to the Vet twice a year for his physicals and spent thousands of dollars during my 11+ years with my Blarney on medication for his arthritis, food, monthly grooming , toys etc. I was his Mum. I grieved his passing. You are a hater. Your comment says a great deal of what kind of person you are and are not.

Clearly nobody claims they’re giving birth to their fur babies or that they’re human & not still an animal, but if we raise, train, love, feed & support financially, as well as take them to expensive Vet appointments & skip trips because we don’t have a dog sitter, etc. then our dogs are close enough to being our children that we will call them whatever we want. Your rude comment & unwarranted opinion is irrelevant & people like you are why I love my fur babies more than people.

Fair play to the owner. I wouldn't have the patience to have to pay such studious attention to cleaning every five minutes. This dog is lovely, but if she were mine, training her to stay off of the kitchen bench would be a requisite move.

In my house she would’ve learned real quick to sleep in her own bed

I had a big mutt, mostly bloodhound and collie, who would only sleep on the tiled floor of the small bathroom in the basement. If I put a rug down there, she'd manage to push it aside. After she died, my somewhat younger spaniel then took the exact same spot.

What gentle giants! They are so sweet. My Border Collie started laying on the coolest spot in the house too as she aged. Because she has a fur coat and arthritis, I bought her a fan and ice collar. Now she is content and doesn't always look for a cool place. Maybe this will help Cocoa? ❤❤❤

If I want to let my two girls Nalu & Mystery sleep on the SAME counter my dad and I cook on, I WILL. We allow them to sleep on our couches, chairs and beds every single NIGHT!!!!! I do not find dogs sleeping on countertops to be disgusting. It's called being a part of your FAMILY!!!!! In Hawaii, We have this famous saying that means A LOT to me: "Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind" And you are breaking that family bond you have with your dog by not allowing them to lay/sleep wherever it is that they please.😭💔🤬

Just like most parents wouldn't allow a 2 year old to have free reign over a household (mentally unhealthy not to mention dangerous), they're also not going to allow pets to have that either. Would you sit a child's potty in the middle of your kitchen/cooking/eating area? No? Then why allow/encourage a pet/family member to wallow around on surfaces that should be somewhat sanitary? Obviously, anyone *CAN* do as they choose and allow that they like. I would say that most professional dog trainers/behaviorists would beg to differ in that allowing pets to take over the house is a sensible or healthy choice.

not capable of owning dogs? huh? I owned Dobermans for 45 years, show quality! and other breeds as well. No they did not get on the furniture or the counter, they did snuggle on the bed occasionally but did not sleep with us. they had their own super comfy beds. Most definitely! I have a small 7.5lb Morkie who's trained and he knows he can't be where food is prepared (kitchen) . The bedrooms, ,, living room and beds are his domain,, kitchen,, tables and counter tops are OFF LIMITS.

And this is exactly why I don’t eat everybody’s cooking.

Thank you for letting her lay on the counter where she’s comfortable.
