It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a minimalist since 2008. I wish I had known then what I know now about decluttering. In those 15 years of living as a minimalist, raising a minimalist family. I’m sharing my minimalist declutter tips, as a real minimalist mom who got rid of 98% of the things I owned. Extreme decluttering isn’t for everyone, but each of you can live a minimalist lifestyle that fits you. Decluttering can be overwhelming and emotionally draining when you get rid of stuff.

I have kind of lost my momentum of decluttering this summer but even though it’s been slow lately I don’t feel as overwhelmed as I once did. It gets easier as each box or bag leaves the house. I guess slow and steady will eventually win the race. Enjoy your week!♥️

@@SuperFilicia that is really hard for me. To be content. Happy I’m not alone in the struggle.
I have a hard time letting go of things that were passed down to me. Thing that were my grandmas, aunts, and other close relatives. I don't really use them, but when I see them, it brings back memories.

Me too. My mother just passed away this past May and I have a few items around my home that were hers. I think of her every time I look at these items. The only way I will be getting rid of them is when I have to move to say an assisted living some day and don’t have the space.

My mom has been gone almost 6 years but I have kept 2 plastic bins of her stuff. One is clothing and the others is with mementos she saved. It makes me emotional writing about it let alone disposing of the stuff. I can live with the 2 bins it’s not a lot. I’m sure one day I will release more along with my things but for now I actually find peace and love knowing I have those things of hers ❤️❤️❤️

I have been a minimalist for years but lately I am more stuck in the process of finding the essential in what surrounds me and your video is just what I needed at this moment. Thanks so much 💚
I have breast cancer I'm so stressed out I have a ton of things very little money, and on top of that my family abandoned me when they found out I had breast cancer. Then I came across this video. I feel so calm listening to your voice and I'm going to start decluttering🎉🎉 thank you

Thank you Connie. I have been slowing down on the decluttering over the last month. I had to say goodbye to my beautiful fur cat son, Solly, July 10th of this year. He was very sick. I loved my boy with every ounce of my being. I still do. I am exhausted, emotional and grieving. I know what I need to do to move forward, however I am having difficulty pushing myself. I have tidied out some of Solly's things. I have given things away and have kept some as well, in case I decide to eventually foster or adopt again. There are a few things I have not touched yet....I'm not ready. I know this is an attachment....but what can I say. It is what it is. All the tools I have been applying to my life to help me in the last year have fallen to the wayside. My doing of course. I am looking forward to continuing my decluttering soon. I know it is up to me to begin. Thank you Connie 🙏

I am so sorry on the loss of your beloved and precious cat. Take things slowly and look after yourself... smile and know your cat had a beautiful life with you. I can tell by your words. When you are ready I pray you will adopt another kitty to love. They are so special. I know as I have 5 cats. Recently I lost 2 and grieving is an on going process...its the price we pay for having truely loved.

@@stellamansilla1848 Stella, truer words could not be written. You are 100% right. Thank you so very much for your message. I appreciate it 🙏
If this and the other videos I have been watching are from before there move out of the country, it makes them less relevant to me. Probably just me but, I like keeping up with the channels I follow where they are now.
I needed this reminder. I started my staycation and the plan was to declutter a few more items from my space, which really means letting go of more sentimental stuff. My “someday” is when I turn 65, but I’m already 61 so let’s get it done 😉💕
I agree. Clothes and shoes were the easiest for me too, yet they (together with kitchen things) make the biggest difference. I did a major cull of clothes in 2018, now only have about 30 pieces I'd leave the house in. Every year that my weight stays the same I choose something from the bag of too small clothes to get rid of so it's now down to 8. Less stuff in the kitchen has also meant more time cooking and baking both because emptier cupboards make it easy to grab what I need in a hurry and because dirty dishes and bowls can't build up if you don't have many of them.
Thank you Connie for sharing your journey with us. You are inspiration for many, including me 💕
Thanks for taking us down the path of decluttering
Always enjoy your videos ' Connie...always lovely!!!xxx Thank youxxx
Sometimes we can become obsessed with anything we do frequently, or think about frequently. I don't think obsession is healthy. A good balance in all things is important..
As always, your videos bring renewed purpose and the sense that it is all doable, step by step. Thank you so much for bringing your valuable life learnings to us all.
I love your message. This advice is much needed in society. Thank You!
Decluttering changes lives! Love the vid
Thank you connie you are a inspiration to me I’m on this journey but I’ve still more to get rid of but I’m hopeful god bless you have a wonderful day
I love how you take your time explaining and showing how at peace you are now.
I love your videos and this one is very helpful for me right now. The tips you provide encourage me to continue my decluttering process. Thank you so much Connie!!! ❤
Hi..connie..post so many videos..its very motivating...good job
You Present Peaceful Positivity. 😊
Fantastic video Connie. I love your approach and the way that you explain it so simply and clearly. I agree with you about the layers that you peel back over time. You think that you have decluttered an enormous amount and then you continually find more and more that you don't need and that you can let go of. The sense of freedom and the possibilities for the future expand and this further motivates you to remove more and to appreciate more the things you have. I find that ideas for things to relinquish just pop into my head when I am not even thinking about decluttering. At these times it is easy because my subconscious has moved me on to another level.
I like your calming voice, i like listening to your videos while i work on my home because of that
💯 keep what you want and integrate decluttering into your weekly routine 👍
Connie, I have learned so much from you. I declutter a little bit on a daily basis. As soon as the box in a corner of our diningroom is filled with things I no longer desire, it goes to the thrift store. That's such a liberating feeling. Next are my spices in the kitchen. I am sure quite a few are beyond the expiration date. Thanks for being so open about your life. It would be nice to know where you are now after leaving the US. We did the reverse, we left Switzerland many years ago and emigrated to the US.

Love your videos! Your voice is so calming. I have learned so much from you. I am really trying to just be present in the moment. 😊
I love when you talk into the camera. 😊Are you still living nomadically or are you settled somewhere? Thank you for the video!
Thank you.❤💐🙂
Hey from Denmark I'm interessting in where you are living right now. I wish you and your husbond a very lovely life/Jette ❤
New sub here. Wow your voice is sooooo soothing ❤
You could not have described this life better. I have been very inspired by you and my own personal journey has had it’s road bumps. 4 years ago we moved into a very very small condo. Life has been a series of decluttering moments ever since. Also our lives have evolved into eating healthier and living healthier while having less. It’s given our household time to focus on very simple things that bring us lots of joy. 😊❤
Thank you for this. Are you still travelling? Wonder how you manage with suitcases, airports, AirBNB etc. please would love an update on plans & other countries if you’re still on the move. 🙏❤️
Don’t listen to any haters, you were brilliant in Troll 2
I seem to always have donations in my car. There's very few of our things that really mean something.
I’m getting confused. Is this your past home or old video ? I enjoyed it but confused since I thought you got rid of everything, including your home and travelling ?

I believe that hoarding and minimalism to be two extreme forms of mental health problems. Most healthy people seem to cope with life just fine somewhere between the two. What do you believe?
Are you still living remotely???
I understand this all But how do you handle photos? And my annual holiday decorations that bring me so much joy?
You change my life! I have the click! ❤❤❤❤❤ My belongs owned me 😢
❤❤❤❤❤
You live alone which can make your journey personal. I live with my husband, my so. And two young grandsons. I minimized a few years ago and got rid of most all of my nick nacks. I got rid of a bunch of stuff in my storage room and in closets. I got rid of much of my clothes. I did replace with clothes I like better and fit better. I cannot minimize the grandchildren’s toys or clothes. Nor cannot declutter my son’s stuff. I cannot declutter our garage because most of that is my husband’s stuff. But since I have minimized our home, several people who have come into our home haven complimented now organized and clean our home is.
How many books did you own before adopting a nomadic lifestyle? I own roughly 500 books. Sometimes that seems lije a lot . I have a friend that owns about14,000. Makes my 500 feel not so bad.
I’m confused, is this an old video from before you left the US to travel the world?
