Crocodile Vs Zebra
Although the crocodiles along the Mara River are known for their enormous size, they can still bite off more than they can chew! These crocs went into a feeding frenzy after capturing a young zebra and began devouring it. One of the larger crocs ended up with most of the unfortunate zebra but was unable to swallow it! I feel like that when I go to the grocery store on an empty stomach. I buy so much food and it just stays in the fridge. At least this croc had a few friends who didn’t mind helping it out. This next scene has a bunch of zebras trying to get a drink of water when a crocodile suddenly jumps out of the water and snatches one of them.
What is going on with this world when you can’t even get a drink of water without being murdered? The zebra desperately tries to get out of the croc’s grip, but it’s not an easy feat to accomplish. I always wonder what is so important for any animal to have to cross a river infested with crocodiles. What’s on the other side that makes these zebras want to risk their lives? Sometimes zebras get lucky and will even have the audacity to walk all over crocodiles just to get out of the water, like the young zebra in this clip. In this next clip, this zebra must be hurt because this crocodile is approaching, and the zebra barely tries to getaway.
The crocodile doesn’t even try hard to grab it. What’s going on over here? This next sequence shows us a zebra barely getting away from a crocodile, but the zebra is cut and begins to bleed. The injury is not that bad, and hopefully, it will heal. Zebras will fight with all their might when their lives are threatened and their perseverance pays off, just like this zebra whose nose is being a bit off by a crocodile, but still manages to get away. Some are not that lucky, like this zebra being served for lunch at this crocodile spa.
Crocodile Vs Elephant
Elephants are not ideal candidates to take on when it’s time to eat, but sometimes, you don’t get to choose your lunch and that doesn’t exclude crocodiles. They take whatever is available, even if it means risking their own lives. Watch as a mother elephant drinks from a river, and has no idea the risk that lurks just underneath the surface. A ten-foot crocodile tries to clamp its jaws around the elephant's trunk. As the crocodile strikes and the mother fights back, the young elephants stand helpless. More elephants drinking when a crocodile strikes a young calf with all its family around.
This calf was probably celebrating a birthday or something and the crocodile had to go and ruin it all. I wonder if the crocodile has any idea how big elephants are and if they decide to walk all over it, they could pretty much crush it into the ground. This time, a huge elephant is inside the water when a crocodile grabs its trunk. I guess the crocodiles know the elephant’s weakness and their size because they always seem to go for the trunk. The elephants’ body is way too massive for the crocodile to do any real damage.

The initial “leopard” was actually a Jaguar....and he grabbed and ate the cayman. Then it switched to a leopard that was grabbed by a crocodile. Completely different animals on totally different continents.

There's nothing wrong with filming/documenting nature, these aren't stray cats they're wild animals. And what are you judging, you're here watching the video yourself. Are you suggesting you would interfere with wildlife if you were there to see these incidents happen?? If so you're insane, this is nature. But I will say, I hope there's a special place in hell for those people who lured that wild pig to its death by baiting it close to the alligator. Truly evil behavior.

This is what nature is all about, survival of the fittest, some people today have no Idea how good they have it, if they needed to build a shelter and feed themselves, even find drinkable water or start a fire, they would die hungry, thirsty, and cold out in the elements for stronger animals to feed on.

If it stays dry, it may be okay. Zebras are crazy tough. Maggots can actually clean wounds if they get gross. Crocodiles themselves are nearly indestructible, and if they don't bleed out than survive losing a limb somewhat easily. There's a lot of animals that survive in the wild with gnarly scars that seem like they ought to have died from the wound.

If they are in the water, the edge and the water is no longer safe. They are faster and sneaker than you think. And if you get in those jaws, even a little, you are in trouble. They really have trouble eating big cats. That wildebeest crossing is always awesome and have some serious croc attacks. Was interesting to watch. Great video

I've become obsessed with watching apex predators videos over the past 6 months. Because of my obsession I can answer a few of the questions I saw in the comments. The first may have been sarcasm, but I'm not entirely sure. 'Why don't crocodiles attack hippos?' The answer is hippos are far to massive, and they have very short tempers. I've seen crocodiles go out of their way to avoid them at all costs. The second question 'Why don't the herd animals protect other members of their herd?' Simply put evolution did not equip most herd animals with the weapons needed to fend off an apex predator. If they got involved they would become a meal themselves. However there are exceptions like Water Buffalo, and Elephants. Both herd animals have been known to target adolescent lions, and even their cubs. They know in the future they will become a threat. Either can kill a full grown male lion as well. Actually two of the most dangerous animals to humans are herd animals. One being the Water Buffalo, and the other being the Hippopotamus. Photographers have learned this lesson the hard way. Both are targets of poachers, and a wild animal doesn't differentiate a camera from a rifle very well. If you learn enough about apex predators you gain a new respect for them. So of these seemingly docile herd animals are every bit as dangerous as the predators themselves.

I was wondering how an adult Komodo Dragon would fair against a croc or alligator. I'm guessing the Komodo could put up a vicious fight against either one. Or, these predators would simply avoid each other. The Komodo, of course, would be more successful on land. But I don't see either croc or alligators being able to drag a fully grown Komodo to the water without risking their lives. But, instinct would dictate that they all stand to lose & sense it. Would be interesting. I have seen pictures of anacondas, pythons & other big restrictors defeating alligators & crocs on land. Not easily but possibly. Especially if the snake is big. Water is a big equalizer for the reptitles but they don't always have that option. Hippos & Rhinos are too big & vicious for the reptiles even in the water. Unlike other herd animals, lions, tigers (not together since they live on different continents) would work together & ambush prey. Let me know if you agree, Digital.
