The importance of knowing Spanish (and in my opinion Portuguese too) can't be overstated.

Excellent video on Brasil. I have travelled from Fortaleza in the north to Porto Alegre in the south Lived in Joao Pessoa, Recife and now in Florianopolis, like all 3 for different reasons Balneario Camboriu was a nice quiet beach town in 2001 but has been RUINED since then, is one huge shopping mall. Horrible place to visit with dirty beach waters and skyrocketing prices on everything. SKIP IT You certainly picked many UNKNOWN cities in Brasil that see very few foreigners these days 20 years ago we saw a lot more tourists from N American but not much any more We see more Europeans and Russians these days, which if fine with me

Unemployment is the stupidest thing in the world. All those capable young men idle. I understand that it's not their fault but it seems to me that world leaders don't recognize unemployment as great of an issue as it is.

@@manosm2003 in retrospect I think the main reason is that Peru population is very unevenly spread. With almost everyone living in Lima or in the mountains, there aren't that many pleasant beach cities, especially since the beach in Peru is largely unwelcoming due to cold waters and haze.

@@mysteriousDSF @mysteriousDSF I guess although no elegant international resorts (25 years ago there weren't even big hotels), Tumbes (Zorritos, Punta Sal, closeness to Mancora in Piura) holds a very hot sunny weather all year long (it rains heavily in such season though), and a very local atmosphere in spite of being 30 min. from the International Border with Ecuador. They've got their own airport and paved road but is not a cosmopolitan city. That makes Tumbes even cheaper ... and the Pacific ocean's waters in here are warm not cold. The palm trees, all those fresh prawns, lush, full of militars (because of the border) people used to be so polite, peaceful and honest ... since the Venezuelan migration waves to Peru, I'm not sure anymore.
