In the top 10 there are 2 cities of Peru 2 Colombian cities 1 City of Ecuador, Brazil and Chile This gives you an idea of what your next destination to live should be, for me it is PERU I love ancient culture and exotic fusions, Peru is the country with the most history in South America and the one with the most exotic fusions! Japanese/Peruvian fusion restaurants are famous all over the world, the diversity of the country is incredible.

PERU must be the chosen place for EXPATS! For many years LIMA was the most visited city in Latin America! The city is the most cultural and diverse destination in South America and has the best restaurants in the world, being home to the most awarded chefs in the Americas today. CUZCO is the most historic city in South America and has one of the 7 Wonders of the World, which places it at the top of the top in South America, the city is magical, the sacred valley a real gem. AREQUIPA is an Andean city located at the foot of volcanoes, the city looks like an ancient castle, it is magical and beautiful. PIURA is the second most populous state in Peru with almost 3 million inhabitants, after Lima, the coast of Piura is in the tropical Pacific, the waters are warm and the beautiful beaches enjoy an excellent climate all year round. TRUJILLO is the third most populous state in Peru, it has more than 2 million inhabitants, its climate is famous for being the place of eternal spring.

Several US visitors who has been in Buenos Aires, Argentina uses to compare it with New York, huge, super elegant, night life, less houses and more buildings. In other hand, Santiago de Chile same people finds it is similar to Los Angeles, California. Many neighborhoods and houses, mountain surrounding, freeways, dry climate, and also west coast.

Very good list I definitely agree with Santiago, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and all of them, except for Cusco. Cusco is nowhere near the top 30 cities in South America, im sorry. Its a very high altitude town with terrible air, you barely have oxygen to breathe, the air smells like pollution, its very boring and lacks of multicultural diffusion and tourism. Lima on the other hand is an amazing metropolis with many things to offer, but Cusco... Cusco is just a little town, nothing really interesting about it. Macchu Picchu is extremely beautiful not gonna lie, but you go once and thats it, it is not a city to live in. Curitiba, Cartagena, Valparaiso, Mar del Plata, or Brasilia are way better options.

¿really? we are talking about the most touristic and beautiful city in South America for many years! CUSCO is the city with the most history in all of this part of the Americas, it is not a "town" ... it is huge, it is a city that keeps its origins intact, unlike the cities you mention that were filled with European and African immigrants losing its true origin, in all the world rankings and top CUZCO is considered the most beautiful city in South America. clearly you don't care about history, you want parties and a superficial life.

COLOMBIA has several locations that are inviting for EXPATS. Colombia also has an excellent and affordable health care system that ranks higher than the USA (Colombia #22 and USA #37). Colombia also has a stable economy and is probably the USA's closest ally in all of Latin America. As for cities, Medellin is a cosmopolitan metroplex located in a beautiful valley with cool nights and comfortable days. Bogota, another cosmopolitan city, is cold at night and cool during the day. It has the Andes Mountains as a backdrop with tons of activities for both day and night. Cartagena (Rosary Islands) and Santa Marta (Tayrona National Park) are both amazingly gorgeous cities on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. There are so many more places to list so your search of Colombia...it won't disappoint!!!

I don’t understand why in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia there aren’t big cities around 1500 m where the equatorial climate is milder, but they are all over 2500 where there is little oxygen!
