We bring you the diving competition from the women's 10 meter platform at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics! After an exciting and close competition Quan Hongchan won quite clearly with 466.20 points. China's Yuxi Chen came in second with 425.40 points and third place went to Australia's Melissa Wu scoring 371.40. Have fun watching!

The Chinese diving national competition is probably harder than the diving competition at the Olympics.

Well, it is. Same as table tennis. Very frequently a few world champions compete for a national champion. That's very enjoyable to watch as spectators. Likewise, I've heard US Olympic swimming trial is at a higher level than the Olympics.

Yes indeed. They have to go through 3 different competitions with the best combined results to qualify for the candidate to represent the country

Incredible diving from Quan, first international outing and broke the world record total score! Brilliant! Will definitely see more of her in future.

It’s amazing how they go into those arm-stands and balance on the edge like that, wow
Coaches and divers will be keeping this video as teaching materials . 466.2 will not be reached by any other divers for a very very long time and possibly not breakable.

Both Quan and Chen are capable of breaking this scoring record. Because both of them are able to score perfect scores. Love both Quan and Chen!

這是在下今生見過最有骨氣的孩子了，真的是令人讚賞，值得疼惜～！
当天看了现场转播，今天再重看，依然看得心情澎湃。只能惊叹全妹太厉害了！世界纪录466.2，除了她自己，相信无人能破了。

Quan is the Most Incredible in All time 💥
If the rest of the Chinese team would have joined and theoretically scored as they did in the 2021 Chinese Diving Championships, then Melissa Wu would have been 7th with her score of 371.40. 😮

It's on YT. What I witnessed from the video was the high standards exhibited by quite a number of divers. For the all 10s scored in the Olympics would merit no more than a 9 there. Absolutely incredible.

Wow, in China's domestic competition, the scoring is actually more strict.
The other divers make so much more splash compared to the Chinese.
Bronze may seem like a minor medal but in the diving world, winning this medal is like winning a gold medal for most competitors in major global competitions. Melissa Wu finally stood on the Olympic podium after 2 close attempts. Kudos to Quan Hongchan for showing a near-perfect diving sequence and Chen Yuxi for being a strong competitor.

I know Melissa is an Aussie and represents Australia but is she ethnically half-Chinese?
I remember watching the live telecast and when Xiao Hong came out, I exclaimed "dao deng" (little girl). Little did I know the sheer spectacle I would be witnessing. I bet none of the competitors except Chen YuXi really knew then at the start, what would hit them by just the 2nd round of dives.
Melissa WU sounds like a Chinese as well. QUAN is literally perfect
Chinese works uncreditable hard, that is why China has been excelling so fast in every sport! It is hard to believe two teenagers (14 & 15) winning the the gold and the silver!
Finally! I've been waiting for this over a year cuz i want to rewatch. Keep rewatching highlight is not giving the same vibe. Thank you, Olympics Aquatics channel 🥰🥰

Yes, she broke the previous record which was held by her current coach, Ruolin Chen, created in 2008. Ruolin Chen is a 5-time Olympic gold medalist.

Quan is pronounced like Ch-uen, the "Kuan" pronouciation by the commentator is completely wrong. I can never understand why they never bothered to check with their fellow Chinese Aussie colleagues. Shockingly unprofessional.
