    Alexandru, AWESOME video! Please keep making these videos! I have not been able to find any 'beginner' videos on how to start drawing/designing 3D objects in Plasticity. Al the others assume I have a detailed knowledge of how to use the program! I design in Fusion 360 but it has taken me years to teach myself! Best Regards.

    i was making a gun for my first model in the software but couldnt find a tutorial to join solids but this tutorial showed how to do that ive researched for hours over over a couple of days i was beginning to consider a refund but my spirits are back up because i got the solution so thank you, you deserve a like and a subscribe

    Thanks for this. There are several tips here I wasn't aware of. Please do more... we are in need of good Plasticity tutorials. There's not a lot out there, and much of what exists is from the early releases.

    Hey Alex, Great video. Thank you. I've viewed a few Plasticity videos, but being new to 3d Modeling, the learning curve is steep. The biggest frustration so far has been the assumption and speed factor the other "tutorials" go through with assumptions made and keystroke omittions. I appreciate your efforts. I want to learn plasticity so I can make rapid prototypes for 3d printing. Most of tutorials I'd found were more of the "lets show youtube how to make this complex shape in the least amount of time possible." and I'm more... show me how to make and modify basic shapes first. The fancy stuff can come later. I need to learn how to walk before I can run. A suggestion if your don't mind, please. ....can you put the keystrokes on the screen so newbe's like me can follow along and pause when required. Thank you.

    That scale to extend lines is really useful, thanks! I noticed on the first example that you filleted the vertex afterwards, but if that's the desired end result, would it be faster to just select the two unconnected vertices and hit B to bridge them?     You can fillet at what dimensions you want, by lofting/briging them is harder but yeah that could be a solution as well. Thanks for the sub 🙏🏻

    1:45 Wait hold up, you're telling me this program doesn't have an auto-trim feature that connect two lines instantly? I feel like this is the most basic of 2d cad feature. Now I wonder if onshape is the same way.

    @alexandrumolnar3d wowwww. Thank you so much for making this video! Honestly that one thing alone is a deal breaker, now I know not to invest time learning this. I mainly program/design 2d countertops, sometimes 3d wall surrounds. As I'm a stone fabricator.

    Not Enough Subscribers Another reason why your KZread chapters aren’t working is because your channel doesn’t have enough subscribers. Your channel needs at least 1,000 subscribers before you can add KZread chapters. Now I know why I did not saw that :)))

    Alex... Not sure if it's just me being a bit thick but I can't execute the line extend join using scale function and V in the way you seem to. If I offset V away from the end point then I can scale the line but I can't apply the shift to get the end point correctly positioned like you do.

    steps: make verts (selection mode 1) and edges (selection mode 2) active. select 1st vert, "shift" select 2nd vert; hit "s" for scale and then "v" for pivot; move cursor to a point on the 1st line and hit "shift", move to 2nd line and again hit "shift". you should see two magenta construction line emerge and then cross to a common intersection; now, select that intersection to place the pivot point (z-y axes with white circle) at the intersection; now, hit "s" and move mouse to scale converge your two verts the intersection....as you hold down the "ctrl" key.

    @@alexandrumolnar3d For simplicity and ease of use I had defaulted to hitting s s to quickly scale the whole line as trimming is so easy. Your new way looks just as quick. Thankyou. If I may offer a speed tip myself. I find that on most commands, typing an exact value while executing the command gets the job done quickly. So while rotating, for example, type in 180 while rotating. Similarly type in an exact value while extruding. If you find while typing the numbers, you see that you are say extruding up when you wanted to extrude down, then type - ve at the end of the number works just as well as at the beginning.

    @@colinhare4722 Yeees I also use it but typing - at the end of the numbers if it is in the other direction and for rotating I press down Ctrl and it does the job much faster only if I need a specific value I type in but thanks for sharing with me :D

    Is Plasticity still unable to import any type of mesh geometry yet, like STLs? Checked it out a while ago, they could have something but it was useless for the #1,2,3 use-cases for this type of software, that is quickly editing existing 3d assets for 3d printing, games etc

    You can import Igs/iges into plasticity with a studio license. you can convert a mesh into igs/iges and export via a paid plugin for blender. this seems to work, as I've seen it mentioned by two different people, including "Redbaron RC" here on youtube. though I don't have a studio license so I couldn't tell you firsthand if it worked.

    Okay, so you loft between two lines, then you select the sheet made in this process. Then you search (press F) for the command "Unwrap face". This will create a flattened out version of your sheet. Now you roughly draw out a propeller shape with a curve tool onto the flattened shape, then you select your drawing, the flat plain and the sheet, and you run the "Wrap face" command. This will wrap your propeller drawing onto the sheet, now you can discard the edges and you're done! This explanation is long and complicated, if you just mess around with unwraps and wraps I'm sure you can figure it out ;)

    At the moment, I would say moi3d because it is older and has more bugs fixed, but I work faster in Plasticity and has more potential. I hope it help
