Hi Bookworms! Major mistake I didn't realize until I was editing...#13 was The Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynne. I just completely lost count. My fault. But I totally recommend Bloodsworn! He's writing the final book now, I believe.

I was one of those idiots who refused to read A Song of Ice and Fire for years, was obsessed with the show, still refused to read the books. Then, finally, I decided to read the books last year (possibly something you said). Some of the best books I've ever read. Even if the series is never finished, anyone not reading the books is missing out on possibly the best fantasy series ever. At the very least, right up there with the best.

I was told this by everyone who had read LOTR. I never had but watched the movies. So after I read the books, I gotta say, when the media covers the source material well enough, it wasnt worth it. Of course the books were better, but when you know what happens it's just not worth. If they were finished, I would. But meh, I'll be that idiot and read series of authors who actually commit to their stories. I won't touch rothfuss either.

I will not read these until they are finished. There's too much good material out there where the author has either completed the series or is actively engaged in writing them. Martin seems to be way more interested in the TV work. More power to him, but I'm staying away. Been burned by Zelazny and Jordan already, not to mention Melanie Rawn (still hoping she'll change her mind and finish the Exiles trilogy).

I started the Dresden Files and fell in love with it. The end of book 3 was an emotional crusher for me and I wasn't sure I was going to continue. The next day I started book 4 and am glad I did. A few I'd recommend: * Vlad Taltos series from Steven Brust - Sstarting with "Jhereg". Excellent heist fiction, currently on book 16 of what I think is intended to be 18 books in total. Book 17 is supposed to be out this year. * Kylara Vatta series from Elizabeth Moon - The first series, Vatta's War, is complete; the second series, Vatta's Peace, is in progress. Excellent space opera. * Safehold series from David Weber - Book 10 of N is out; book 11 might be out this year.

Just finished Sinister #2 Howling Dark last week. Loving the series so far. I preordered book 6 and would be caught up in the series by the time it comes out. Do you think it's necessary to read any of his short story collections in order to Fully understand what's going on in the later books

With this year if Sanderson closing off SA arc 1; I am hoping Brown will have Red God coming out in 2025. Of course if he needs more time but from my understanding he's pretty much got squared. Definitely wont be another 4 ywar wait I think. Add to whenever the 3rd Bloodsworn book comes out and it could be a couple years of satisfying conclusions.

Me trying to figure out if I should start yet another series or let myself fall further behind Booktube discussions. I'm actually reading Empire Of The Vampire now, just because the library suddenly had it. Think the scarier part is that these unfinished series may be disappointing than unfinished... it's the same syndrome with TV/anime/manga. It's like the way people view Lightbringer vs. ASOIAF or Dark Tower (before it was finished).
