I'll be taking the 25% chest on every build I can. The chests also scale with map quant. Guaranteed within a week we will be seeing highlight videos of mageblood and mirrors coming out of chests from that mastery.
I think "Spells cost life instead of 30% of mana" is gonna be pretty good for alot of builds that struggle with mana until they can get eldritch battery or other mods on gear

yeah it's great as lifetap has 300% cost multiplier i think but probably gets applied after -mana mods

The main issue is that you still have to pay 70% of the mana costs. It's hardly going to matter for most builds. The 10% instant leech will do the trick now instead, since it applies to all leech.

@@izaruburs9389 30% reduced mana cost is already great, it's almost an Inpiration support for all your skills for free (almost). Plus it's on a life mastery that virtually everyone will path to

@@MrMatigno Great? Sure. Solving mana issues on it's own? Not even close. And it's Not the same as reduced cost since it doesn't stack with other sources of reduced cost (so it comes with major deminishing returns). And don't underestimate life costs early on. Losing 20 HP with every Cast/atk while you usualy have a hard time sustaining life already is very anoying. I am not saying it's bad, but it's not going to be as good as people claim it to be. 10% instaleech with 0.2% of atk dmg leeched as mana will do more work for 99% of the atk based build meta and everyone will path through leech next patch just for that mastery alone anyway.
I would take 25% to open chests just to do the Vault of Atziri, lol.
if "opening chest" mastery would also applied to doors it would be really good for heist

Opening doors is the QoL change everyone asks for but GGG will never grant - right next to a mastery making links permanent so you aren't spending the majority of your time aiming the link every few seconds

Regarding instant leech. The stat you need to make it better is called "increased Maximum Recovery per Life Leech", it increases limit of total life that a single leech instance can recover. But currently there is only one source of it according to the wiki, which is a Slayer's Brutal Fervour (overleech node) with 100% increased Maximum Recovery per Life Leech. So in most cases, you'll have 1% of max life/es/mana instantly recovered per hit, but also worth to point that leech mastery does not specify the leech type, so you could have all 3 on an attack build. Or on CoC build, for example;)

So you can have leech, instant leech and life gain on hit. Mmmmm venom gyre looking pretty pretty good. Just saying.
If any of those super chest-heavy maps become t16, that auto-open nearby chests mastery will look a little more tempting to me. Vault of Atziri will also be a really nice map to run with that node.
The caster one with chests, can actually be usefull if you're doing the kirac harbringer maps, since they do give shards/materials when you open them quite often even (Like I got ex shards aswell as a mirror shard from when I did the challenge lol)

You can increase max leech instance, also for es you can convert life leech instances into es leech instances which stack with normal es leech instances to hit cap twice as fast
nice video! i might try some hipster builds after the league start (provided I enjoy the league and have the time to play), it has been a while since the last time I was hyped about a new league and I really hope I can play now
A few seem really nice for leveling: Recovery Mastery: Regen 50 life per second Mana Mastery: Regen 5 mana per second (One of the huge qol things from Alira) and Fire Mastery: Regenerate 1 life per second for each 1% uncapped (not overcapped) fire resistance
Great video, I think masteries are the biggest slept-on mechanic these days. I know the adrenaline one is getting a lot of attention, but when you start looking at making old builds new with the new masteries, all of them combined with everything else, they change build-making in REALLY interesting ways. And are powerful as fuck, makes up for a lot of nerfs.
Do you thought about the flask mastery for recover 4% life when flask used?
Actually... Per GGG, macros or use of Auto Hot Key that only perform ONE function is okay. (they use this to justify log out macros.) So having ONE key repeated on a 1.1 second interval for stance change should be, by their own justification, just fine because it's only performing one function, stance change.
The bleeding immunity one seems really interesting. Ill just pick STR/DEX base as a ranger and craft increased armour and can still fit my dex gems as I still need to have 1-2 of red color.
The double energy shield from helmet is my favourite one for the build I'm playing, nice buff to mapping on Trickster
Nice Video as always. The way I understood leech is that investing into the stat "Max. recovery per life leech", which is capped at 10% by default, like you said makes it so that leech instances are lasting longer (as long as you are consistantly hitting the 10% cap). however the portion of instant leech is being taken from this value too, to my knowledge. A few things that I would like to know: Does the 10% instant leech mean, that my "normal" leech is now down to only 90%? Even if thats true, it can still be good quality of life, since mods like "less recovery rate" on maps and stuff do not apply to instant leech. (All of this could be wrong, leech is so convoluted, that its hard to understand, I would like to get the entire "portion of leech is instant" thing to be explained by someone, who knows how its working)
@Palsteron The wording leech is instant, means all types of leech right? A lot of people keep referring to life leech, but mana leech gets affected by this as well I presume? Which means you can turn non-claws into a similar effect as gemenini claws (just get a portion of flat mana) for attack based stuff as this would then act the same as "get x mana on hit"?
For Champ, if we are popping adrenaline every 2 secs, will we get the 25% life and remove all ailments each time? We probably won’t need life flask.
i always open chests, bc in 3.15 the first league i got to maps (my second or third league i think) i got an ex in the campaign from one, and have seen many chaos and alchs from them
I want to see if the new "25% more spell damage if you've been stunned while casting recently" caster mastery can be good for anything. It only takes about 961% increased stun/block recovery to drop the default stun duration (350 ms) to less than the server tick duration (33 ms) to minimize the actual interruption, easily achievable with the Immutable Force jewel. Add in one of the many ways to base your stun threshold on your ES to get reliably stunned, and maybe Brine King so you get stunned periodically but never stunlocked. You unfortunately can't ever stun yourself in PoE, so it would have to rely on enemies hitting you.

Trying to get stunned to increase your dmg - now you're thinking in POE.
You don’t have to spam left click to swap stances btw. If you have it on your LMB, you just have to click once in between the cd for the stance swap regardless if it’s ready or not. It’s not as bad as you make it out to be.
Can you let me know if Ele ballista is still viable if you know already ? I dont want to wait till Thursday in case its not and i panicking to pick a build last minute.
I feel like the "recover 4% life when flask used" could be really good on champion. I am thinking about using the topaz/saphire/ruby flask with 3 charged on hit, that a lot of pathfinder builds used last leauge. Should be really nice with the already high physical defences on champion. Against bosses just switch out the ele flasks that are not needed for that fight and add life flasks. (+ if the adrenaline mastery actually heals chapion for 25% every second I might have to put my wrist at risk 😅.
With the new your link skills can target damagable minions, can If i intuitive link an animate guardian/reaper with ball lightning with slower projectile support to have tons of virulence stacks top make a big agony crawler? ?
Does Physical damage from hits taken as Chaos damage also count as a hit then? If so, it would pair well with the 10% of armour is applied to Chaos damage, as it would further mitigate that.
I am mostly curious about the interactions to the adrenal stun mastery, I know you can block stunning hits but do they also count as a stun being inflicted, because I remember you used to be able to have cast when stunned do this sort of thing with valyrium, potential infinite adrenaline? That's the thing and reason I still say the leech node is mandatory, most people use claws anyway because elusive/crit not to mention life and mana on hit and it's AS, if it's still "only" 50 life/mana a hit you still get that extra on hit from claws, and leeching overtime, not completely sure but still 100-150 of both a hit is crazy good for sustain if it doesn't flat out kill you... then vaal leech for more. I was thinking more in the lines of the flame cloak for the 15%, converting phys to ele is always something that interested me but have yet to try, same with a pure ES build... and an abysal socket stacker.. maybe this league.
Will the chest opening work on Vaal temple vessels? Could get fun.

What are your thoughts on the new Spell Suppression Mastery "Suppressed Spell Damage cannot inflict Elemental Ailments on you"? Would this not be a good node for like a pseudo-ailment immunity? Or is it simply inconsistent?
Regarding the 10% of life per leech instance: Isn't it possible to increase that cap via the Slayer node Brutal Fervor, Hematophagy node on tree and Vaal Pact?

I'm pretty sure those only increase your leech/sec cap and not your leech/hit cap

@@Palsteron I looked it up and I was right, you can increase the per instance cap with those nodes but you are still limited to a maximum of 20% HP/sec from leech. Although Vaal Pacts modifier: "Maximum total Life Recovery per second from Leech is doubled" increases that value to 40%. What I'm saying is.. if you go Slayer with claw dual wield you could get instant leech equaling 12% of your HP per hit.

Pal i am pretty sure the "increase life recovery per leech" will increase that 10% cap, if you remember they added a lot kf this modifier for two handers saying "it is a solution for slow attacking play style". that said, still won't make mega op but if you are s two hand and you fot the leech wheel then you got your self like 200% or more increase to that? 3%-4% of your life per hit is Pretty op for cyclone/ ragestorm, blade storm, statisc strike, shockwave support.... etc

did i miss it or did you not mention it? but "(New) Enemies permanently take 5% increased Damage for each second they've ever been Frozen by you, up to a maximum 50%" seems pretty busted to me for bossin on freeze builds. on fights like feared or other ubers where you might die this seems busted, as i suggest permanently means its still on the boss even tho you die and have to reenter

this mastery caused me to pick some ice build this time, did plenty of DoT builds but never vortex/cold snap or other ice based...
Personally I think the Adrenaline on Stance Change thing is going to be lame for normal gameplay, but in Ruthless movement speed is very important and hard to get (quicksilvers don't last as long and you can't recover its charges during its effect, for example) so I think it'll actually be a QOL improvement in that case. I'm pumped to get to try out this new tree, looking to make use of the Recoup cluster in the Shadow area, and possibly some of the new attack things while leveling.

This note is broken and won't make it to live servers or it will come with a major cooldown. Adrenalin isn't ment to be this easy to access. 100% inc dmg, 10% phys mitigation and 20% speed (atk, cast and movementspeed) for 10% Mana reservation ontop of stances benefits? Yeah, no way this goes live as is.

90% full life might be very good in a niche scenario with Agnostic. You can reserve a clarity or vitality on life and not completely burn your manapool afk.
They should make the stance skills usable if you use them on the movement skill slot (left click). And make the mastery 0.5 seconds of adrenaline.
The 10% chaos damage taken from hits is super relevant for 3.21 since they introduced the new map mods that will make mobs get phys as extra chaos, so chaos damage in general might not be mainly dots anymore

New map mod is only going to move chaos a little more towards balanced between dot and hit, but overall there'll still be more chaos dots than hits.
90% full life might be good to use for auras like Vitality or some smaller ones (10% or less)... which might be good after so many reservation masteries got deleted? just quick spew from not fully awakened brain Also trying to work on build using both "3% to Damage over Time Multiplier for Bleeding per Endurance Charge" and "6% to Damage over Time Multiplier for Bleeding per Impale on Enemy"

Hmmm. Dagger projectile speed build. Get enough proj speed making projectile skills/spells become hitscan. I like.
Fire mastery for "100% inc dmg against ignited enemies / crits don't ingerently ignite" seems super strong.

agree on Adrenalin mastery(total nonsense), clicking evry second, and everybody is describing it like it a free passive boost... So thanks for pointing it out it a constant clicking!!!

Just a side note. Nobody in the history of POE was ever banned for using AHK. Hell, kripp made a tutorial on how to use it from his wow days and people were using on stream before the "recent" flask automation changes. If it doesnt ready or write memory they, and by they I mean any devs really, don't care. Not to mention you can automate this using the logitech and razer mouse/keyboard apps w/o any contact with the game at all. Still, they were asked about the power of the adrenaline node and said they are monitoring. I bet it wont make it live.

As a traps enjoyer, watching the sabo trap playstyle get butchered only to see trap masteries have absolutely not a single good mastery outside the 30 Life early game and 8% double trigger on some setups, I am a very sad ex-Sabo main
Some were pretty good some were just absurd or useless lol. It feels they ran out of time to come out with ACTUAL good masteries and just filled them with temporary shit until next league or maybe next balance patch.
i feel like the 55% above low life is actually pretty trash. with petrified you will have 50%. if it was something like 65 or even 70, i could see it being usefull, but lets be honest, unless you do some crazy math, it will never make use of that extra 5% hp.

It can occasionally come in handy since it's essentially a 5% more life modifier for 1 point for low life builds.
Brass Dome has a non-life life mod. preventing us from getting life. that is classic GGG

Stance can be put on move, simply set attack without moving to true. You basically play with a shitty audio cue swapping every second or so, but it automates it and doesn't break ToS. Definitely won't be doing it myself but its there if you want to bleed your ears or mute that audio category while playing that build.

man, you do not have to constantly click to change stances, just click the toggle for attacks on the skill, it works fine while holding it.

Can’t you just put stance on left click like with guard skills and hold it down to move AND auto cast every time it’s up from cooldown?
