Eating like this also dramatically improved my sleep as well, and also getting more protein. Diet is the biggest factor to mental health that is ignored by the medical community!

Reese Brindle yes it's a process of trial and error. I like Vega protein too. my only advice would be to not just do straight protein drink, mix it with some carbs and fats like coconut oil and sweet potato or low glycemic fruit such as berries

"Oh my god he is so beautiful"That was my favorite part of your video. I believe that is your mind waking up from this long sleep you been in. You can finally appreciate how beautiful everything in life is , that is what I take from your statement . Sure you might not feel like that all of the time but it is a glimpse into how things will be. You rock and I think you are inspiring. There are many people on bb who say going through this is harder than going through cancer treatments. So we aren't bieng babies this shit it's hard !

I am happy you updated and are noticeably improving..I am also glad GI Joe is well and still keeping you company..you said many important things but one that resonated was about backing off on some of your volunteer work and trying to level out...I got mad at my psychologist last week when he asked me about goals and I said I was happy to make it through the day and he said that wasn't good enough...pee on him! I almost quit him! So keep on healing and sharing your journey and stay far away from the VA!

Hai Angela, amazing how far you have come. I'm 8 months off now and doing better, but I got into a bad wave last week. Flasbacks of last year and panic attacks, but I'm able to not totally freak out. Started doing EFT to get through some traumatic memories, it has been a rough road for sure. Glad you are doing better, I can relate a lot. Looking forward to your next video, xx Kim

I can relate to a lot of the lingering doubts and concerns early after the worst had passed. You will gain more confidence in your recovery as time passes. One idea about the diet.. the amino acid taurine (found in dark meat poultry especially, also in beef, salmon, etc) helps quell migraines, auras etc. And sprinting is another good exercise for releasing HGH (neural regeneration, etc). Hope you continue improving and do well in graduate school. Your courage is inspiring.

one of the hardest things for me is also 'letting go' of good feelings amidst it all; you want to hold on and just sit in it forever, but the point comes where you've got to survive It reminds me of a documentary where a guy was stuck in frozen mountain landscape in a plane / helicopter crash -- even though he had injuries -- he laid his head back into a beam of light and everything felt 'just right' but knew he had to move on

Every thing your feeling is completely the same as me and possibly the same as everybody... we all ask: How long is this going to take and am I going to heal completely? Who am I going to become after all this? Should I be pushing myself more? And the truth is there's no real right thing to do we all learn how to cope in all different ways... I really stopped with anything that's Benzo related, I only watch a few KZread vids on people who are updating their stories n it seems they continuously make progress although it's very slow I do see some progress so it does give me hope that I will actually get better. So thx for posting your story.

I think I got off benzos the same month as you. I have also have been doing the same diet as well. It helped a lot but I still have many symptoms. I'm very curious on how you're holding up now? On a side note I've researched how exercise further inflames our cortisol levels. Doctors actually use exercise to induce a stress response to study the adrenals and HPA axis.

I'll post another update next week. Exercise has fixed my dizziness and if I don't exercise it's much worse. I also sleep better and feel calmer. There is a book I read called "spark" about how exercise produces BDNF which is like fertilizer for the brain and it grows new brain cells. I choose to focus on that research and how it helps me. For me, I can't heal without it.

Wow! Good for you! College and now grad school going through this??? I can't imagine. What mental strength. Going through 9 months, cold turkey, as elderly, has another dimension. One thinks it could be permanent damage on the way to dementia...talk about intrusive thoughts. But not your problem. I'm following KZread Dan I see he has commented and yourself. You guys are "much" younger and feel for you to go through this young. Does the VA do anything for you, do they help? The VA thing makes me mad, I have seen this for too long...VN era. Not a vet, but many friends that went and got screwed. Do young vets think Trump can help? Or just more talk?

You were a beautiful bride, and we could see a bit of your past life. You have been fighting this for a long time...some 6 years? You are still young and have time to healed. BTW, I think we all change somewhat as we age. Talk to to most people at 40 yrs, they changed from 20 yrs old. Do you feel like you are in a better place from that video in 2010? That's awesome! Jesus is the only one we can trust to help us with our feelings of anxiety and depression and all those emotions that are normal, but we don't think it is so we put our trust in health practitioners who just want money and not our well-being. God helped me a lot as well and if you work as a team with Him all things are possible. He had completely taken my social anxiety away which I had since I was young and now I still get some anxiety attacks but I'm able to manage them better. I decided to stop taking any kind of pills for anything, except Tylenol when I really need it. Prayer is the strongest tool we have!
