It is sad but refreshing to hear about someone who has worsened symptoms because I get very worried. I too am ALONE and understand!! Yes visual snow is a problem. We have been bombarded! Add old age (74) and loss friends/family and it is atrocious. Your videos are very valuable and I thank you! However as a veteran I say the understanding and care there is NIL and actually harmful. (I was in the ER the other evening because of dizziness and it was determined that I had “anxiety” and sent home even though I screamed BIND over and over 😢.). You are not sassy, just assertive. I am 14 months off after a short taper after taking Xanax for 40 years. A nurse practitioner told me that the numbness in my feet and legs is just psychological and a psychiatrist told me I should have been finished with withdrawal in one week. Yes.

Please keep making videos if you want to, they are very educational and helpful. I find your strength contagious and you’ve opened my mind to different ways of healing. It’s soothing to hear your recovery. I struggled with Xanax abuse a couple years back in college and didn’t feel right until about a year or so after I stopped. I still currently use Ativan (with a script). You said at the end that these pills wasted 15 years of your life and while that may be true, you have also gained a perspective that only few have the strength of make it through. And thank you for your service.

You just said something that will help people heal. The more we get back into our lives and not focus on the symptoms the more your brain and body will heal. The symptoms are like parasites you have to starve them out but not focusing on them at all. The parasites ( symptoms ) want you to keep them relevant by focusing on them 24/7. Very important. Keep going. Great job

Dear Ange, I am so sorry for what you have been through with your dog's illness and passing, on top of what you already endure. You are truly incredible. And I know it is so hard. I am writing from New Zealand, just over 14 months meds-free; and also dealing with a life disrupted and dysregulated from medication harm. I am just writing to say thank you for all you've done, and for keeping on, and for keeping on sharing. And also to wish you all the very best. Thanks for sharing about the book - Rock Steady; and for relaying the concept. Thank you for giving me something helpful to try. I just made some notes/paraphrasing for my own record. It makes sense to me, and I'm going to look into this some more. thank you again. Sarah, NZ notes: Constantly monitoring and scanning how we feel. Meds make our bodies work differently. Our brains figure out how to work around that med (e.g. down regulate or up regulate), and then when the drug is gone, the brain has to work out how to adapt back to working without the drug. When our brain focuses on the symptoms, is fearful of them, and then reverts to the learned response/reward our response - we're teaching our brain in a way that reinforces our symptoms and even exacerbates them we're actually teaching our body to do something that reinforces the symptoms. The book recommends we can say 'it's no big deal' and we can look for what feels stable, and what feels good. What else do i feel? To have a curiosity about that. Consider it in a sensory way. That is what rewires the brain - towards what is working and can work more/better, and redirects it away from what feels wrong. Find what feels good, and grow that. Feel your feet touching the ground. The only person who can do your neuro reprogramming is your own brain. Slowly walking back into our lives. Setting ourselves up for success. See, it's safe. You succeeded and that is your reward. Thank you Ange.

Keep fighting, I was heavily sick for 6 years, I know how easy it is to feel like you are the exception to recovery but don't listen to your subconscious. I'm 100% healed now, my CNS/PNS isn't going through periods of shock, my GabaA and Glutamate receptors function normally. I had 126 different symptoms while recovering especially visual, from feeling my vision to grainy, and visual snow which was horrible. I'd also get this visual issue where it seem like light and the picture you get from. Sight was standing still as I was moving forwards it was freaky, Hallways would stretch, yellow and black spots... Visual disturbances was very scary. I'd see these white and sometimes colored patterns when my eyes were closed with the sensation of body following the patterns at night that just kept me up it was probably the worst out of all. I was on 31 different mind altering medications so I completely understand where you are coming from. I know how terrifying this is especially after hitting a duration mark and wondering "why am I still not better"? I am fully functional actually I feel much more better which I heard can happen where things that use to bother you before benzos does anymore.

19 months off ADs after 31 years and many failed tapers and I started watching this a few months ago and had to switch it off. My dog was 12.5 and was starting to have lots of ailments, and like you I'm on my own and he'd been with me all through the years of drugs and another taper and now protracted withdrawal, and I was starting to worry how I was going to cope without him if he left me. Now I'm watching it again and I had to let him go 2 months ago, and with my already intense neuroemotions that I was already experiencing , (have watched that video) this has been one of the hardest, stressful, most emotional periods of my life. How am I going to continue this shitty journey alone without him? Life,or death, doesn't wait around for drug withdrawal and recovery.

My thoughts are with you ❤PS you are not wrong. This is the same premise as TMS. People in chronic pain use this technique all the time. The idea is don't wait for pain to go away to live your life, live your life and the pain will go away. Keep doing this, its powerful!

That's a nightmare my friend 🥺 ,, you've been through a nightmare. I empathize because I ride my bike with my dog (chihuahua) on the handlebars. He's a 'service spirit'. I was helping with cleaning up a property with tons of dust and early morning coffee and sugary breakfast food, bean pancakes with 1/2 oat flour. The point is, I had an attack taking my dad to a flower shop for flowers--- for a deceased buddy of ours , no covid-19 , just natural causes. My attack was dizzy and confusion, soon as my restroom duty was done, I was weak for 2 days , had to recover, my blood pressure was a bit elevated, my oxygen just fine . I needed benzo withdrawal rest... Been off 3 or 4 , maybe 5 years.... Sorry for your loss. You hang in there. 8 gotta watch sugars and definitely no coffee for a bit. Oh ,just so you know what I ate night before was a onion soup powder burger with grass fed beef, salsa and chips. I eat salad all the time but rarely have beef nowadays. My punctuation is not fine ,but hopefully you or ANYONE can understand, this is hell guys 🧝👰.. it'll be 4 years off in July. Feels much longer. Those service animals are something else 🥇 Was also taking creatine consistently to help at the gym. I was doing sooooo good at the gym, now lost all that water weight and maybe muscle,, after that flower shop day.

This is so classic Claire Weekes. It just takes so much more time with the drugs thrown into the mix. I’m surprised more with BIND, or whatever you want to call it, don’t practice the “face/accept/sit with it/let it pass” approach. Of course, we’re supposed to actually allow all of the feelings and the hell with it if it’s hard. Might not help with aka and severe pain, but for anxiety, it’s very, very effective for me. TMS and DRNS are the modalities du jour. I hope it helped you. It’s been 3 years since this video.

I am so sorry about the loss of your service dog. I lost my poodle of 17 years while in tolerance but did not know what was going on back than. He was my soul mate. I have never been so close to anyone or anything in my life. It has been many years but i still miss him so much. We were lucky to have those furry angels in our lives. Thanks for the information; i am going to check out the book. I think neuroplasticity is very important because we were given pills to deal with our problems and now that we are off the pills we need to learn healthy ways of dealing with stress. Btw; i have been feeling better since i have been doing high dose vitamin d3 because i was very low. If you haven't already, check your levels. We need vitamin d3 to make acetylcholine and we need that to heal the parasympathetic nervous system. Imo we need more than the average amount while we heal. It may not be a miracle cure but it can be a piece of the healing puzzle. It has really made a big difference for me. Thanks again Angela; you have helped me alot through the years!

When you tell doctor about your brain and your balance and how you see things in slow motion, what do they say? I’ve tried to explain this and they don’t understand this. I was taken off klonopin too abruptly 23 months ago and it’s ruined my life. My life is shot to hell. I can’t drive, cuz my eyes are dry as hell 24/7 for the last 23 months and feels like someone is gouging my eyes out, can’t cry from the dryness, constant brain pressure and pulsating nonstop I kid you not 24/7 since June 18 2022. I’ve lost pleasure and joy in everything I once loved. I know I’m brain damaged and there’s nothing that can be done about it. I’m constantly sleepy as if I don’t Sleep ever although the first 14 months I was only sleeping 2 hours in 30 min broken up incriminates. Im constantly dizzy and off balance. All I want to do is lay on my bed or sit Down all day. I was a person full of life and excitement. I use to drink coffee in the morning and be energized for the day. Now nothing takes effect. I’m a divorced mom of an 8 year old. My ex husband abused me to no end and is of no help to me. My son and I are very close to my parents so I have them for help. I lost my job due to this because my vision is shot, I lost sight of a student and can’t see Worth ish now because of this medication damaged me So in the bright ssa sun with no assistance supervising these big Ssa students with special needs who are all bigger than me a student wandered off and I couldn’t catch him on my own.

Sounds like a great book! I have employed a similar technique and also found it helpful. Oddly, I have also found relief from the opposite approach. If I'm in a safe place like my bed, I use the paradoxical intervention of consciously trying to go further into the anxiety. When I consciously try to increase the anxiety, it dissipates. It's vapor. Weird. I'm so glad this book is helping you!

Any way I was going through the ‘’ protracted withdrawal ‘’ thing and I had Ben to the ER and hospital a BILLION TIMES! and like you I had the vision problems! The snow , unbalanced feeling, constant rocking feeling , seeing tracers and BAD vertigo! And PPPD !!! anyway I found out that I had something called vestibular migraines!!! When they hit you get something called Aurora in one of your eyes and anxiety feeling, rocking like your on a boat! The floor looks strange and the ceiling also! And tinnitus gets WORSE! and you get brain FOG ! I always thought it was the benzodiazepines but I was wrong ! I was getting vestibular migraines!!! I could always tell when they where creeping on me because my hearing would get REALLY sensitive!!! and light wold get unbearable!! I would have to put on glasses INDOORS!!! Ive been off Klonopin for two years after being on for 25 years and now tapering Luvox. Tinnitus too. Not auras or snow though. I hope it goes away someday. It’s so disabling and destabilizing. Also, they say it could be PPPD and MdDS, for which the treatment is benzos and anti depressants and so many people in the PPPD and MdDS groups recommend Klonopin and Effexor because they are desperate as am I after being dizzy, boaty, pulled and pushed from side to side, surf walking and laying on a water bed for many many years. So how do we know if it is the syndrome or the withdrawal and what do you do if it is the syndrome and you are tapering the treatment ?

I don't know if anyone will see my late post but I am going through klonopin wd and have developed a terrifying fear of heights . I have worked in construction my whole life and didn't mind going up a ladder . Now I can barely look up at something high. My legs shake and I panic. Has anyone else heard of this? Thank you . I hope you feel better soon

Omg, you sound just like me and my sister. She stayed in post acute benzo withdrawls for 10 years and she stayed where she could not even talk and like being tortured alive until she got a Dr in Birmingham Alabama to give her iv flumazenil. It's the same thing they use for rapid benzo detox. I don't want to be given medical advice. I suggest you people start a slow tapper with diazepam you can find online and then. I lost my mom in 2019 my sister in 2012 and my two Chihuahuas and moved from Bham to Missoula Montana where it's freezing. I have been on and off benzos since I was 13 and now 49. I already had problems but nothing like benzos have done.

Taking flumanzenil when 8 years of benzos does not make sense scientifically. I haven't had a benzo in all that time so I'm not sure why someone would take that so late. It has not worked for anyone I know who has tried it.
