This backplane is the 4XH7A08771 on Lenovo's page, but has the FRU : 01GV286 (which is way better if you are looking for it used)

Raid cards are so pricy, I've been hunting for a Lenovo 16i and its like the price of the whole server these days !! Lenovo St550 box i want to go from 8 to 16 drives.

RAID card always are pricy. And it doesn't depend on vendor.

@@JasonsLabVideos usually price drops only on old stuff. There are lots of parts for X3650 M5 pretty chip available but not for intel scalable generation. There are more stuff for HPE and DELL in this generation available then for Lenovo

you are sort of ripe for consolidation - save a bundle on elec although this server looks to be close to ideal for smb mkt - lots of small biz could use 3 or 4 of these and they don't coast an arm and a leg really - quite reasonable and the engineering looks to be decent too but essentially in 24 mos - 2 more cycles of moore's law they will be eol and not a good choice anymore - likely

This server is only really usefully until SSD becomes cheaper then HDD.
There is no 3.5 backplane with SAS Expander for SR650 exist.

Dell is not really my brand,, I use to hate 2 DELL and 3 IBM,, lighting hit near my house,, and then I just had 3 IBM.
