    When I walk my dog, I say she's "checking her pee-mail" !!

I don't think it's only about body language. I think that animals feel energy and emotions. And some can smell when we have an ilness. Ever had a ''breath sniff check'' from a dog? Pretty sure it's not just about knowing what we ate. They're monitoring our health.

Seriously, you're letting a dog eat a "cake" with grapes on it????? Trying your best to kill it??

Thanks for your concern! Grapes are indeed toxic to dogs and should be kept away from them at all times! 🐾

I started giving my golden retriever cinnamon chocolate and grapes after she’s been acting naughty, only took 2 times of throwing up all night before she stopped being bad, you have to be stern

I think my dogs walk is like my social media time. They have to smell who was here, where did they go? What did they eat? And, definitely off leash time is important. Never tease, let your dog show you their humor. If they like the feeling of laughter in the house? And, the dog has a sense of humor ( not d dry person has a sense of humor, neither does every dog) the dog will find a way to make you laugh, if they like your laughter. But, I disagree about idle chatter yo your dog. My dogs have always responded to my chatter to them specifically to them (no one else around) using their name, just telling them about my day.

I love your take on dogs' walks being their version of scrolling through social media-what a spot-on analogy! And you're so right about the importance of off-leash time, giving them a bit of freedom to explore. As for talking to your dogs, I totally get where you're coming from. It sounds like you've had a wonderful connection with your dogs through chatting with them, using their names, and sharing bits of your day. Dogs are incredibly attuned to our voices and emotions, and that one-on-one time where you're focused on them can strengthen your bond. Thanks for sharing your insights! 🐾💬

Do dogs have a sense of humour? True, they don't laugh but do they know when they are being funny? Or do they randomly do things that people happen to find funny?

Dogs might really have a sense of humor, especially if being playful counts as being funny. They often do things that seem to make us laugh, like making silly faces or rolling around in a goofy way. It seems like they might do this on purpose because they notice we give them extra attention or treats when we find them funny. If you laugh and give your dog a pat for acting silly, she might just keep doing it to get more of that positive reaction from you. So, in a way, dogs might learn what makes us happy and use it to bond with us. It's pretty smart and shows how close we can get to our furry friends.

I read that a dog laughs by sneezing. I watched my Cockers after that and I did notice that they would start sneezing when they were happy and silly.

Punishment is necessary because pain is the greatest mnemonic, regardless of what the mawkish contemporary "behaviorists" claim.

Consistency is the greatest mnemonic. All brains are designed to follow patterns. Consistency establishes patterns. It's a choice as to what you choose to establish consistency with your dog with. You can choose pain because it might be the easiest for you, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is the best or the most humane. Consistency is what teaches us to behave a certain way. If things were not consistent, we would not know what to expect and therefore would not know how to interact or engage with whatever it is. This is why those "behaviorists" are the experts. They understand this basic concept.

@@raggynola Consistency in punishment and reinforcement, but punishment is necessary, though not a matter of ease and convenience--though not to the over-sentimentalized and despicable behaviorists and their "defenders."

Punishment is a way to never have a connection or a healthy relationship with any being on this planet. I have never punished my dog and we have the most unique connection one can imagine. P.S my dog's breed is border collie.
