Ole Miss Baseball and Mississippi State Baseball played in the opening round of the SEC Baseball Tournament in the 2024 College Baseball Season. The winner would advance to play Texas A&M in the double elimination round. Ole Miss needed a win to keep their season alive, while Mississippi State was looking to bolster their hosting resume.

I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Outstanding game. Truthfully, giving this game merely the "Great" label was an understatement. This was an all-time classic.

It worked for 5 out of the first 6 batters he faced. And to be fair I don’t think any pitcher on ole miss is any good.

Looks like it was the players not knowing how to run bases and the catcher not knowing how to stop a ball caused that loss.
Everyone talks about all the homers and gorilla ball but I love a good pitchers duel and great defense.
Heroe of the NIght for me was Auger. What a pitching performance after his long recovery from injurie.

yea if all you want to see is the end result. Great game by both sides honestly. Real baseball fans know that was a battle of wills and 12 mins was not enough to show all the heart these players put into the game their whole season.

As a lifelong baseball fan I’d way rather watch a 2-1 pitchers duel with game saving defensive plays than a 13-11 slugfest. Sorry you don’t find real baseball entertaining
