    Just bought a 6hp Tohatsu for my old Duranautic 14. I loved your great Tohatsu 6 operating tips vid. I was planning to bring a gas can along - now I am planning to get an ext tank and disconnect before I take out. Loved your 6hp speed test video, my wife does not like to go fast, with her aboard now I know I can’t 😆 Love how you present info, EXCELLENT at instruction. I just pleasure cruise enjoying the birds etc. in the estuaries near Old Lyme. This vid was VERY helpful as I saw how to make a simple wood slat floor for my boat. ❤ your vids!

    Love your channel. Could you please show how you built the subflooring? I have the same v-hall boat (13") and want to build a floor deck. Yours seems to be the simplest one I've seen - no carpet, no spread forms and works. Also do you not use a boat cover while trailing or use it for store the boat outdoors? hate to see stuff flying off the boat on highway. thanks.

    Hi the floor is just like a wood pallet. I will post a video soon showing the 2 decks I have on the small boat. Trailering no boat cover, I don’t put much on the boat while trailering. And I store it in my garage.

    Before I get a chance to shoot a video, let me share with you a photo first. Hope it helps. Basically you measure the width of the rail on boat, cut the pieces, and secure them with 1 middle piece and 2 side pieces that forms a 'V' shape. drive.google.com/file/d/1hxY8B9nqkb9ONLRaTiape3PAB5QOgPAo/view?usp=sharing

    I have a kingfisher 12ft v hull ive installed a complete deck on it with 2 seats for my son and i its pretty much like your boat however i have a 25 HP Yamaha and a foot control trolling motor , i only strap mine boat in 3 places 2 in the back and the winding strap in the front however i do also use a strap in the front too ,ive never had an issue with it coming off on the highway im glad you think the way you do many people think nothing will happen but it would bad if a boat came off it would cause a very bad accident, maybe even a death ,but generally you shouldnt have to sorry too much but theres always a possibilty though anyway good video take care and stay safe

    @@SteveChenFishing oh its not that fast the fastest ive had it goe os around 25 26 mph but thats still linda fast on a boat in the water ,i did have a yamaha 8hp on it and bought the 25hp recently, the 8hp went around maybe 15 yo 17mph in the water still not that bad but the 25hp is alittle faster but not by much, i have alittle 10ft Fiat bottum jon boat that i put my 8hp on its pretty good but alittle unstable im going to get a smaller outboard for it , but yeah the 25hp works well on my 12ft ,do you have any other boats besides the one in the video ,what state do you reside in i live in springfield, missouri my son and i go tour fishing at lake taneycomo alot and crappie fishing at cape fair ,you may have heard of lake taneycomo its by a town named branson, anyway take care and stay safe

    @@allenwebster6329 Wow that's a lot of good info. I was thinking about upgrading my 6hp to an 8 hp. (the boat is rated for 7 hp). After reading your message, I think either I need a bigger outboard, or just keep it as is. I reside near Boston, MA. I heard of Lake Taneycomo before, yes great fishing! The boat shown in this video is the only boat that I have. Considering getting a bigger one since this boat can only go max 10 mph with me and my friend 2 people on board. btw, what is the hp rating on your 12 foot boat?

    I have a nucanoe unlimited kayak with an xi3 trolling motor, I was thinking of getting a jon boat with a gas motor to go further on bigger lakes would you recommend it or do you prefer fishing out of a kayak in your opinion.

  • @SteveChenFishing

    @SteveChenFishing

    I had a kayak, now I’m mainly using the aluminum boat. Small boats are very easy to tow, if you can master backing it to the boat launch 😎 The higher speed 16 mph makes a difference on big waters. And being able to stand up makes casts longer and fishing can be so different. Highly recommend the upgrade!
