    Keep up the good work sir. Always be willing to learn. I've been mig welding for 32 years, mainly pipe fabrication, and I'm still learning. There are days that I feel like I've just started, then there are days, other welders are asking me for advice. Stay humble, keep learning as it doesn't matter how old you are, keep learning. Keep up the great videos sir.

    Just always remember one thing about negative people with negative comments. They can make their own videos and post them to their channel showing what they feel is the proper process to use. I welded miles of pipe in the 70s on the North slope pipeline. Lots of 6010 root with 7018 cap in -80 degree F temps. You’re doing a fine job with what you have to work with and that’s the part that counts. Enjoyed your content 👍 🇺🇸🦅🌏⚓️🇺🇸

    Keep your gas nozzle as clean as possible, if you can get yourself a sanding sponge,use it to smooth your drag against the pipe as you apply the root pass and it keeps the outer nozzle smooth with less bumps.

    Also...alot of people will dismiss your skills...especially when all the welding they do is watching it on KZread and they think they know some shit...don't be discouraged about that. I've been welding for 10 years and I'm still shitty at it. I can run a bead..but I've seen waaay better. And you my young friend have a great skill set. Don't let trolls dictate your level of experience. Your doing just fine and your channel highlights alot of very important areas that alot of welders fall short in technique. Keep up the good work buddy...

    looks good from here. i always did as i was told. works out better. the only comment i can make about the states is that a lot of people have never been out of their neighborhood and use that reality as a data point when comparing welding procedures in other countries. started an argument one time by posting the work of an irish pipefittter/welder that was doing all his work with 6013. absolutely beautiful work. the american pipe welders were having no part of it; it was heresy.

    Or think of it this way. Shop sends out bad threads to the o-let. Field has to spend time, energy and manpower hours ($$$) to fix, retap the threads. Simple 30 seconds of work will save a potential hours or more.

  • @kf8575

    @kf8575

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ARCONEWELDING not sure it needs a different torch? Probably a narrower shroud to direct the gas right down into a prep though. If CMT is anything like Miller's RMD rooting mode, it's like a modified pulse mode. The machine senses when the wire touches the puddle, bumps voltage up to seperate the wire, then drops back down again to cool the puddle, hundreds of times a second, keeping the puddle cool and controlled. If i understood it right that is😄😄

    All pipe fitters tack onto the pipe,if they don't then how can they be pipe fitters? A tack can be cleaned off so tell them to start fabricating from the raw as you do, many can't!!

  • @kf8575

    @kf8575

    Depends what standard level is being worked to. ASME or EN1090 Class 4, with either, even an arc strike outside of any weld preps is an NDT failure. The rapid heating and cooling of the area around it will cause a spot on the pipe with less tensile strength due to it hardening. Commented on another of Calvin's videos about it a long time ago, and he said the clients they work for dont really care as most of it is only HVAC pipework. You started tacking balance weights on pipework for oil/gas or chemical plants, especially high pressure, you wouldnt last a week before you got the boot.
