    @thewoodenboldozer5965

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@carlnordgren257 That's an argument too and very well spoken. I agree with you. The core idea that environmental protection is important is not even up for discussion. We all agree on that. The problem is that it cannot be implemented 100% worldwide at the moment. Our whole lives currently depend on fossil fuels and, as you said, oil. Our industry needs electricity to produce products for us and petrol/diesel to supply us with these products. People's electricity consumption is rising and rising and everyone wants their own car as well. We can't change the basis of our lives today. It takes time. And just because someone invented an electronically powered car brand and made it known through practiced advertising, we can't say, "Okay, everyone's driving Tesla now and the problem is fixed." Where would the additional electricity needed to move the cars come from? It may be that Norway currently generates 99% of the electricity it needs using environmentally friendly methods (water). But if everyone drives a Tesla, electricity consumption will skyrocket, would the environmentally friendly electricity still be enough? If not, electricity would have to be imported and then the cat would bite its tail if the imported electricity had been produced in an environmentally harmful way. Or the electricity prices for refuelling would have to be prohibitively expensive, but then everyone would get upset again. It's not all that easy and that's why I said that electric mobility is not yet ready for the broad market and standing now I would also say that it will never be ready for the broad market. Rather there'll be another way sooner.

I've been trying to decide between Norwegian and Icelandic for some time, but it's so damn hard to choose, both languages sound fascinating and beautiful. Probably the westernmost dialects of Norway are great for reading the Sagas, just like Icelandic, but I have no idea. If you happen to dwelve someday into the world of those western dialects, I hope we'll meet again, I'd want to know if you can actually read the Volsungas :D

    I heartily disagree. There's a subtle but very evident difference between Norwegians, Finns and Swedes. In both physical appearance, behaviour and mind. Once up in the Norwegian mountains -- I'm a Swede, by the way -- I met a hiking company of doctors working in Norway. Suddenly their guide told me that one of them is Swedish, and asked me to try point that person out in their group of a dozen silent people. I took a deep breath of the fresh mountain air, scrutinized them all closely, pointed at a man and said: "You, my fellow [pause] ... are Norwegian, definitely Norwegian!" Then rapidly turning in another direction: "But you, my lady, is truly Swedish." Of course I was right, it was so easy. Yet they were astonished about my skills (or pretended to be).

    If one traces a language families global "tree", it's peculiar how Finnish is linked to Northern regions over across to Russia, and is not a Norse language at its roots. That must have made for some awkward issues over the centuries, as Finns seem to have connected instead over time to the culture and regional identity of Scandinavia, where all other countries have Norse language roots.

    Finnish together with Hungarian is an agglutinative language (look it up in a dictionary) which points to the Far East. The other agglutinative languages are Japanese and Korean. And in fact the Finnish and Hungarians were once the same people, they split when they lived in the area of the Baltic States today. There's a lot of question about the origin of the Hungarians. In the 1980-s Japan investigated if the Hungarians originally had not been a group that left Japan at one time.

    I’m from the US but was in Oslo for Christmas and went to the winter festival with all of the little shops and different little food stands close to the Grand Hotel. Was amazing and beautiful! What I imagine the United States was like some 60 or more years ago in the northern states around Christmas time.

    Thea Josefine Hovind-Nybakken - Love 'Alan Walker' & 'Alexander Rybak', but Angelina Jordan (winner of Norway's Got Talent four years ago at the ripe old age of 8) is my favorite ! Enjoyed visiting Copenhagen and Frederikshavn (1971), but missed Norway :(

    Sorry but you are wrong. There are three always sharing the top. Norway, Denmark and Switzerland. Usually two from Asia. Japan and Singapore. The U.S. dropped again this year.

    actually Denmark is on the top of the happiest countrys and I think Norway is like on seventh place on safest country to live in, we jused to be higer up until the massacre on utøya 22 July 2011 where 60-70 people died, the youngest was 14 years old

    I think Norwegian's like hiking because to be around nature is old culture, so when they are hiking it makes them happy and polite to each other.

    VALERIE SHELL westerners keep preaching that nonsense about our women they want to believe how our women are gold diggers and wh.res for arabs and blacks honestly ,when i visit london or think about cases like simon mol, ,number of prostitutes from east europe...we deserve to be a bit of a joke but even after all of that they really don't have the right to preach anything ,they should look at their own that are worse than anything from our lands
