That analogy about a wife's makeup was absolutely perfect!
With all the new added framework inside, below, and up top ,this house is becoming a fortress!! : )

I'm thinking about setting up a circus tent over it when I'm done to keep the sun off it.
There is an ethics that you follow that impresses me..You make the homes right structurally. I've seen many flippers turn a house that fall apart after one year, yours will be still standing in 50 years...Hats off to you kiddo... an old flipper that sleeps well every night,,,take care...

I agree, that's one reason I watch. Plus HH does all his own work. Most of the "flippers" seem to hire the cheapest contractors they can find, who do a mediocre job most times.

That’s because he likely isn’t flipping it. He wants to rent it out for 30-40 years
Don't mind the haters. You're doing great.

I'm losing sleep at night over their comments........just kidding.
I hope that you can show the next house as well. I feel that what you are doing on this channel is what I always wanted This Old House to be. I have always loved that show and learned quite alot. The problem is though that they always do projects that cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete. Your version Is like the budget version of theirs. Keep up the good work. Budget remodelers like myself will watch.

That's one of my goals with this channel, to show people that you can take something like a house like this and have it be a perfectly respectable place to live. I feel a lot of people could save enough to pay what I paid for this house and I'm doing it at a rate that most people could afford. A lot of the work I'm doing could also be hired out and not cost that much if the right person is doing it. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed this episode of "This Old Shack".
I am retired but I will say I live vicariously watching your wonderful videos, thank you.
Dude you been reading the comment section too much. The comment section on KZread has turned into an over critical, nit-picking, over sensitive cluster. It's a bunch of know-it-alls that get behind a keyboard and think their opinion is the only one that matters. And it's not just your channel, it's almost every KZread channel now where the comment section is nothing but over critiquing and rude messages. You do your thing and forget what anyone says about it. Don't let these comments get to you, don't let them change you or the way you do things. This is YOUR CHANNEL. If people don't like it, they can go somewhere else. The constant complaints are exhausting and you'll never be able to explain everything. You don't own anyone an explanation. You're doing great. Keep up the good work. Don't change for any of these comments. PS- Why isn't this video monetized? I didn't see any ads. When I watch small KZreadrs who I'm subbed to, i always watch the entire ad and a lot of times i'll even click the ad and go to the ad's website.

Great advise, that is exactly how I feel. I watch this video to learn a thing or two.
Been a big fan of your work for a while! I am confident that before this house series is finished you will hit 100,000 subs on this channel. Out of curiosity, why so many channels? Your homestead craftsman is just about there and I think this content is relevant and would be well received there too.

Wabi Sab - E .... I'm not sure really, for the houses I wanted to make a dedicated channel of just houses. It may be a mistake. What I do know is that this channel had 6,000ish subs about 6 months ago, now it has over 50,000. My Homestead Craftsman channel has a little under 100k but I've been posting on that channel for years. The topic of houses has a much larger market than the topics of The Homestead Craftsman. Any thoughts and or opinions of what you think would be best are apprciated. Thanks for watching.
A lot of youtubers supplement their income with "baked in" ads or a patreon. I would say find a brand or product that fits in with your line of work and you trust. Or provide additional content for people willing to pay more to get more. I find your stuff therapeutic and will keep watching your videos. Good luck!

I've considered it but have had mixed feelings of Patreon, comes across as annoying digital panhandling on a lot of people's videos. Everyone is begging for money online.... maybe my view is off.
@joshuab8491

It depends on the implementation. Its just like craigslist, netflix, or etsy. You are providing a service to those who are willing to pay. You've seen the car dealership approach of shoving it down people's throats. Good, avoid that. Just leave a link in your description, mention it once a month ( or every other video), and set clear guidelines on what remains on this channel and what is behind a paywall. People respond well to the idea that if they want something above and beyond, they pay a little extra. Now, making your patreon profitable and consistent without selling out or being reduced to panhandling is on you ;)

I think he should do both, the videos are awesome, he deserves the extra $$$. I'm pretty confident if he approached someone like DeWalt they would probably be open to sponsor someone like him, I know they have sponsored Wranglerstar who is a larger channel but isn't even construction focused. Maybe approach the other power tool companies as well and use DeWalt's ventures as leverage/encouragement to compete.

Homemade Home You don’t need to beg as you called it, just throw Patreon into the bottom of your description so people looking to help would see it. But be careful, I’ve heard channel creators complaining about Patreon for some reason lately. As far as sponsors, Titan has some channel creators lately but they are only woodworking. Your work renovating may be more of what they are looking to add. So give them a call or contact them. I know your subscriber base and views both growing (and more soon) will help convince them!

Homemade Home I actually like having an option like patreon to support some channels I like. Usually just a couple bucks a month and don't expect anything extra. Beats watching ads.
Hey man, I appreciate that you talked without loads of scene cutting, like most of the vloggers do. Keep it up like that!
@homemadehome5575
6 жыл бұрын
That is not easy to do....for me at least. I have to record the talking parts again and again. If you edit them a lot you can just keep talking and stream it all together, adding or removing things you say. Having it be one cut makes it less frantic. Glad it's working.
I can't wait to see the finished project!

The farm house... wow. Wouldnt you want to have it as your own house, it looks very pretty specially the floors.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Always enjoy your videos. I know you're planning on adding a front porch, but have you considered a screened porch off the kitchen? One deep enough for settin' and dining? There's nothing like having dinner outside on a fine, summer's evening, enjoying the cooling air and listening to the night chorus.
You are a very talented craftsman! I so hope you reach the 100,000 subscribers, as I would enjoy the "full monty" reno of your next project. I've read several of the comments, and there are quite a few good ideas/suggestions. Hope these will help you decide which path to take. Cheers!
Don't be discouraged! Even though I know I'll never be doing this kind of construction on my house, I love these videos. I find them so educational, it makes me appreciate homes much more. It's inspiring that you are doing almost all by yourself. Good luck!
I’d love to see a whole series on the farmhouse! I’m enjoying this series for sure, and it doesn’t have half the starting character of that charming house!
I worked as a laborer for my uncle as a kid who was a contractor who did house renovations in Australia. He was super disciplined at cleaning the job site up at the end of every single day which I moaned about as pointless which he would laugh about. As I’ve aged, I’ve realized how much time he actually saved by doing this.
You are very charming and very very talented
The footage below the roof with all these nails pointing in direction of your head was scary ^^ A kind of saw horror scene ! 😱 I hope you will reach your 100k ! Watching from France, more for the show than for the technical information I have to admit... we build very differently between countries ! and this is what also makes your videos so interesting to watch!
My husband and I enjoy watching your videos together. We're looking at remodeling our home at some point and love to see what you've done with this little house. Keep up the great work!
Forget all that subscriber mess! I'll send you 20 bucks. I wanna see those detailed videos on your other house! Lol. I love these videos and will pass them on to friends. They are like This Old House but better!
People are super dumb if they think renovation happens over night. Lol shit can take years sometimes. He’s one guy doing from what I can see all the work. Give the guy a break lmao. I enjoy watching his work ethic. I don’t even know how to use power tools but it’s nice to see a house turn from a dump to something nice.

It's coming along nicely! I hope you can keep these up, I could watch your videos all day!
Really looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing how the porch comes out and eventually the final walk-through. Have a great day!
Men.... I wish my husband is a handy man like you... I am so ready for the hard work like this.... its so rewarding if you see a complete project and feel accomplish all the time you see what you have done.
Can’t wait for the next one! Keep up the good work! Don’t know what to do with my life when waiting for your next video! Please never stop sharing your work! You’re inspirational!
I get a smile when I see a new video from Homemade Home! Thank you and will do my part to help you get to 100k. I REALLY want to see the farmhouse work!
Love what you're doing man. It's nice to see how it all pieces together.
You are doing AMAZING work! We all can see that! You do A LOT!! I can’t wait to see how all of your hard work turns out! Excited for more 😁
I love your channel! It definitely deserves 100k and I do think you’ll get there! Excited to see the next house renovation 😊
Enjoy your videos! It does take time to rehab an old house and you must have enormous patience to do the rehab and keep the videos rolling. Thanks for sharing!!!
I’ve been watching for many years but I don’t comment and engage nearly enough. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and appreciate the extra work you put into showing the process and teaching. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Absolutely love the farmhouse! Looking forward to that renovation. Always look forward to each new video you have.
As soon as I saw your notification I said oh boy! and had to click to see what was next. Thank you for answering my question about a porch. The house is really coming along nicely. Can't wait to see the finish product and the next house. I hear you about the struggles. My husband and I bought a 100 year old house that was 4 rooms, porch across the front with collumns, and possibilities of addition, and moved it to our land. Needless to say what a job! See you next time Good luck!
Looking great! Man, you've worked super hard on this.
I've been a subscriber since the 3rd video of the series, and I appreciate the effort you put into making these episodes. I hope you meet your goal!
Your videos are one of my 'relax on the couch and drink coffee' segments. I really like the current house, almost makes me wish I was able to move down myself!
When you finish this project, do a video showing a comparison of your costs vs how much it would have cost per job if you hired someone
I really enjoy this video series and hope you show us the next one as well. I am amazed at your skill and drive at such a young age. I love the commentary in your videos as well. The house is really coming along and I can't wait to see how it comes out. Great job!!
Screw anyone who is hassling you about your schedule, do at your pace. This is a business like any other. Your doing a great job!
Big fan of yours. You are, without a doubt, the hardest working guy I've ever seen. I'm a retired architect in Atlanta and I'm very envious of your construction talent. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see the finished house. Good luck!
Nice work dude, the house is coming along great! It's really refreshing to see someone taking the time and effort to renovate a house without cutting corners. Thanks for providing entertaining and educational content. Keep it up!
You are a hard working guy! I have been following you since tiny house build. I look forward to seeing the next steps of the house. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

Oh wow, your other house looks like the Micheal Myers house from Halloween! I love it!🖤🧡🎃
I really do love these videos, they help inspire me to learn more about building and construction so that when I return home from my work overseas I can start my own business... and build my building myself.
I really want to see the new project videos, I love this so much. Big respect to you!
I'm already excited for the next house.
I love your skilled workmanship keep up good work.

I really enjoy watching your videos, they are so inspiring! Thanks for taking us along for the ride, I cannot wait to see the end results. I have absolutely no experience but we have a 150 year old house and are about to demo our bathroom, goodness knows what we will find...wish us luck!
Like the videos man, very interesting and helpful to watch.
I loved the video where you built a deck, I have taken apart my old deck but I was scare to rebuild it myself but now after watching your video I am confident that I can do it. Thanks
Always like your vids and have shared this one (something i rarely do) as some ppl I know might like it. I also agree with the idea of combining this content with the other Craftsman channel. It's all to do with building and reno's so should work fine.
I am officially hooked to your channel !! Your work is amazing !!
Dude, I really wanna see you work on the other house - looks awesome already. Can't wait to see what you'll do to it ;) Keep up the good work! God bless all the way from Germany

It’s looking good. I’m so excited about the farmhouse. It’s my kind of house. I’m going to have all my daughters subscribe.
Love this series. As someone who is always banging my head on doorways and low ceilings, I was cringing watching you get over to that corner of the attic with all those exposed nails. Glad to see you didn't have any problems.
