A covered porch keeps you out of the rain and sun, making for a nice transition space as well as protecting your entryway. In this video I build simple box columns and frame the roof.

The porch looks nice and sturdy. It really helps it look like a home instead of a cement box.
I can't wait for the interior! Just a tip from a tiny house enthusiast, making the house feel spacious can be easy! The most important things I've learned are to use lots of white and light colors, lots of windows and mirrors to add more light and bounce it around the space, and an open plan. Keep up the amazing work, love your channel!
You've been doing such a good job with this house! Don't be discouraged that your progress is slow. It's slow and steady.
I'm really enjoying your videos. Very refreshing to see someone who isn't afraid of hard work or getting dirty. I love your earlier comments regarding not spending what you don't have and living with a plan in mind. So much of what we think we "need" is not necessary to be content. Thank you for making these videos for us.
This is one of the best series on youtube. Great work. I have thoroughly enjoyed so many of your videos.
All I can say is "Wow". That house is looking amazing. Can't wait to see the inside again soon.
I like how you butted up all the boards. When I built my deck (which was about 15x bigger than this one) everyone kept saying space them out. As soon as it all dried out, it was perfectly spaced. If I had listened to them there would have been huge gaps between each deck board.. I can watch videos like this all day.. So relaxing to watch! Every time a tool falls, I giggle though. Same thing happens to me. I'm too clumsy!
By the end that hat is just gonna be a straw headband.

It is dwindling quickly, I'm due to get a new one pretty soon.
Where would we be without power tools eh? Imagine doing all this by hand like the old timers did!! Fantastic job - your productivity is simply the best.
Love u 4 being more active the last weeks! Thank you and greetings from Germany 😊
Perfect sized porch for the house and area you have out front, enough to sit if you want and enough to get in out of the weather. Looks great. 😁
Only man who can make a straw hat, suspenders with shorts, and crocs work. I love this man.
I also love the series. It's so relaxing to wash you built something from the ground up! I wish I was so good with power tools and built myself a storage shed. Can't wait for the next video!
Like someone said on BiggerPockets podcast, the best rentals are just “people box’s” nice, simple, cheap houses. I shoot for the 1.5% rule. Rents = 1.5% of purchase price + repair costs. If you get $600 a month and only spend $25,000 on this house you are hitting 2.4%. Some people may hate on your cheap houses but you can’t argue with that return!!! Great work!
Building the deck an stairs looks a lot more fun than all the rest. Looking good so far. Thanks for the video.

Agreed, it's like the difference of working on old plumbing vs installing new stuff. Much more pleasant.
love all this...makes sense the order you're working on it with the weather being more favorable for outdoor construction right now. So excited to see the inside and how it all progresses. Thanks again for the awesome video!
I’m SO EXCITED. Have notifications on!
RIP Level, it was murdered twice.
Ok, I. Just finished 35 and I subscribed. I felt like I had to since I watched the ALL. You remind me of my self so much. I have all the same tools and work about like you do. Except I got too old too early and chose another line of work, but still enjoy this kind of thing. To speed up your process of getting hold, stand on top of that ladder (like I did) and let it dump you and shatter a femur, that’ll fix your wagon real quick. Love the work, be safe and smart and do what you enjoy. Thanks. Looking forward to the next.
Another fine video! I really enjoyed seeing you use the Quick Clamps. I use them all the time and they are really great when we are working by ourselves! Keep up the good work!
Wow! What an improvement, even before it's finished! Enjoying watching your work on this project! Great job!
Thank you for sharing the process on this project. It is fun to watch!
Really enjoying watching the progress you are making!
I love watching ur videos. For some reason watching u renovate these houses all on ur own, is very therapeautic and relaxing. How do u find the time to make these vlogs, while ur doing so much hectic work? The videos are excellent, and its amazing that u manage to do all of this on ur own. Plz keep the videos coming, we love them! :)
Looks really cute with the slanted roof. Goes with a little house and softens up the concrete of the home. Since you done a small porch, a little landscaping would look great on both sides of the porch to fill in those spaces like two spruce trees in corners and lower bushes in front. Just a suggestion. Whoever rents that will love it im sure and hope they take care of it.
Love it! Can’t wait for it to be finished! Keep up the great videos
always excited to see your new vids man!
The porch looks great! Adds a lot of much needed depth to the front of the house
Looks great man!!!!! Ready to see you finish the inside.!
love the hat love your vids you are one hard working young man nice to see someone take pride in there work
Oh my goodness its coming together so beautiful I can't wait to see when it's completely finished 👏👏👏😁😁
You are a smart carpenter...very precise. Love the way you do things.
Can't wait to see the final result, you really work hard!
I can never ever get enough of your videos!
Looking good. Keep up the great work. Enjoy each video you're posting, Thank you.
I love this series, keep it up!
That porch really makes a difference--aesthetically and functionally. Nice job.
Crazy what a huge difference the porch makes on the general appeal of the house.
I’ve been watching for a few months, never comment. Love the series :)

Your hard work is paying off. What a complete difference from what was there to begin with. Don't forget to dress up the front doors and windows with some trim work. I'm sure you're already designing that in your mind as well.
That looks infinitely better. Strong work
Loving the intro to the videos lately!
Have been following this renovation since day 1! I love every video and am taking tips for my first home I’m working on. A civil war era plantation house!

This house is coming along nicely! Love the videos!
Real hard worker right here! Props to you man, subbed
That’s beautiful. Great work as always sir
I've watched every episode so far. I lack any of the skills required, so that's interesting. But your videos (voice and deliberate pace) calm me down.
It really is just mesmerizing to watch you work!
Your doing a great job and the place just keeps getting better.
I've been watching since the beginning. Love this series! Had you ever built a porch before? If not, how did you figure it out? Have to be good at math for sure!

This is the largest porch I've built on my own......I just did it. Math isn't an issue, just measure and cut. The angles for the farter tails were just marked after mocking it up. The hardest math you'll do is dividing by two to find centers.

I was wondering the same thing. Did you get a plan off the net for the porch? And I thought I'd never say anything like this, but those stairs are beautiful, the grain of the wood just makes it great.
It's looking great!
This house looks so cool with this porch! Well done, man, well done!
Keep on doing your thing! I love your videos
I really enjoy seeing you progress in this project. You are doing virtually almost all of the work yourself which serve as a reminder that people can tackle big projects themselves if they put the effort in. You know how you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
loving the videos man, everytime chilled vibes.
All caught up! Can’t wait for the next video!!!
That is one super heavy duty porch and steps!
Porch looking great.👍
Looking forward to the next video.
Been following this video series for a while I love what you do I do the same thing with my dad
Huge improvement to the kerb appeal of the house😃👌👌👏👏👏
I’m loving these videos
The porch looks great I've never seen one built that way but I like it
Looking great! thanks for sharing your progress. Cheers from PEI Canada, Bryan
The little porch is looking great!
I am really starting to like this house!
Looking good! That house really needs some nice white decorative shutters, at least on the front windows.
Nice one again! Thanks for sharing!
Loving watching this series, hope you will film the farm house! I’m just finishing up my first renovation getting ready to sell it in the next two weeks.. Melbourne Australia though.. so abit different!! Wish there were $12,000 homes here! More like $300,000 AUD for something like that here - if your lucky enough to find any still around. Your craftsmanship is great, so neat you can tell that you know what your doing and that you get satisfaction from it. Keep going!
Always one like from me. Amazing work!
I can't get enough! Keep em coming
great work! don't know how you pumped out so many videos so quickly recently but I love it! :)

Nice job friend!
Wow, it is looking very nice , well designed. I can imagine also as minimalist, without the pillars in front, just as it is now, it would be then very modern. Maybe 😃.
love the vids keep up the good work.
Looking good bro.
Great work...

Nice porch
I like your tools. Milwaukee fan here myself.
Huge difference. 👍 Vinny 🇺🇸
I really enjoy watching your videos and can't wait to see more progress. It only occurred to me today that unfortunately the house isn't wheelchair accessible... Maybe you can take that into consideration for a future building project!

I would have had to change out all the doorways into the house and inside, doors cost more, as well as everything else in the house, being different....a house this small is just to difficult to outfit that way for the rarity of the renter it would cater to.
