It’s great to see the pride Tim has in his face when someone praises Chris. It’s genuine and just shows how Chris is respected.
That was an awesome episode. James Patrick is so gracious, and as it turns out is a pretty darn good junior coach. Those kids in Victoria are pretty fortunate.
I watched James Patrick in 1983 at the University of North Dakota. He was a level of defenseman I had never seen before, very smooth and could break the puck out every time just with his skating ability.
Very underrated defenceman and seems like a great guy
James was one of those core Ranger players from when I first started watching the team in the late eighties. He deserved to be part of that Cup team Imo
Awsome !
Best thing I watched on the 4th of July. Chris and Tim get some of the best interviews from their NHL relationships. Still would like to see Chris interview Gary Rissling, but would settle for Larry Melnyk! :)

I was hoping they would mention why Espo traded Melnyk for Petit, a season after Espo, as a Ranger broadcaster, roasted Petit.
I am suprised James got that much hair. I remember as a kid, I had his maybe 93 Rangers Upper Deck card. He stood out cause he was the going bald guy.
Chris, see if you can get Behn Wilson to come and do the show. Never seen him do any interviews.

Depends on how willing he’d be to talk about being a investment fraudster and a rat. He was both.
1300 Games!!! I recall Sam Rosen mentioned Patrick was training with Canadian Middleweight Boxer Donnie Lalonde and it showed when taking on the Philly Goons!!
esposito took a young gritty team that went to the semifinals in 1986 and traded them away for old washed up scorers who were way past their prime
great interview
Dam these older veterans are classy guys , men ?

great ranger stories, enjoyed it
Not that I'm against trades to help the team, but it became too much starting with Trader Phil. In all sports you could rely on same steady lineups with a few adjustments. As a diehard Ranger fan Leading up to the 1993 Edmonton Rangers winning the Cup. As satisfying as it was finally winning it, the money game killed it like baseball. My NY Yankees bought their World Series. Just my opinion how the sports world changed and did my interest. Watching Knuckles show brings back great memories of a game long gone!. James Patrick #3 Ranger Forever!!
Chris loved the Vaive story. The guy is still a goof. I played in the Easter seals Lindros tournament for a few years about 8-10 years ago. Alumni on every team. He was the biggest dick all weekend. I wont mention who are alumni was in case it get him in trouble but he said the guys can’t stand him, Just there for the envelope. Great episodes.
craig patrick got fired after taking the team to semi-finals. the reason was that the team had no flash and was not selling out the building. they hired esposito out of the television booth and he destroyed the team in 3 seasons. he has a vendetta against the garden because he thought he was unjustafiably fired. lol!
what put calgary over the top in 1986 to beat edmonton was they got john tonelli in a trade from isles and having mike vernon in goal

What put Calgary over the top on 1986 playoffs was Oilers D Steve Smith trying to make a clearing pass from behind his own net and clanging the puck off G Grant Fuhr skate into his own net.

@@yotoober1 flames still might have won that game regardless. people forget the flames almost upset oilers in 1984 they were winning halfway through game 7
messier trade was nichols, steven rice, louie debrusk and money
#6 Barry Melrose
espo traded miller, ridley, gagner, tinordi, brooke, traded 1st round pick for coach michel bergeron and fired him with one game to go in the 1989 regular season with the playoffs looming. of course they got swept by lemieux and the penguins
Sorry posted comment on wrong video.
📞 "hey hey my my, rock and roll can never die" 😂😂
He was a good blueliner. What was with Barry Beck he could have been a Hall of famer. Didn't seem to have the desire
