Ive found that when stripping by hand that having the wire on something solid helps. A big piece of pipe fixed to something works excellent Keep the blade above the point where the wire touches the pipe and pull the wire towards you

Nothing better than watching you strip wire while I do the same!! Going to have another 400 lbs of spaghetti wire (THHN) done today. That stuff doesn't add up as fast as the 350-500MCM!! 😂👍 Hope you had a Happy Easter, Derek!!

If you're gonna use the same scrapyard and will be getting checks, get an account at the same bank. They'll clear the checks faster if they're from the same bank.

Damn good copper price. My price last week was 3.53! Switch to 5/3 they offer immediate for a 2% fee or next day approval. They approved $22k check 2 business days even though they said it could take a week!

Here in Tennessee we have to wait for check in the mail for copper unless you have some type of business license. It sucks, but it is what it is. Everyone needs a Steve in their shop!

Not sure your location but as a heads up many places I sell to also give a price jump when you have a business license also along with paying right away. They also raised the minimal activity license to 100k yearly also.

Happy Easter.. here in the UK, you have to have money transferred into your bank account. If you want it same day the cost is 2 English pounds. If you want the transfer free, you get your money 2 days later. Its crazy.

Here in the UK, all scrapyards have to pay direct into your bank account. We also need to produce photo ID. This was brought in several years back to combat metal thefts as the traveller community don't tend to have either the ID or a bank account.

We had a big problem with the theft of railway signalling cabling and also the theft of phone cables as well. The UK's main network provider, Openreach, switched to aluminium cabling, but the thefts still continued. They are currently engaged in swapping all properties to fibre to the premises.

Haha that’s crazy … thieves steel all the copper cable and the company says “dam we have to switch everything to aluminum so the thieves will stop stealing everything” The thieves still steal everything and go “shit, no more copper .. well aluminum is 4 times less . That just means we have to steal 4 times more cable to keep up 😅

Get a hair dryer if you’re doing it by hand with a razor or a filet knife and literally give the insulation a 30 second pass really close along the whole thing then strip it … the heat makes the insulation cut like butter

If you ever get the chance to buy chillers of top of buildings that they run antifreeze through buy them they are full of copper pipe and some are brass we cut one brass one's apart to see if if had brass or copper pipe it had brass pipe the end we cut of weight over 900 pounds of brass it was back when copper was around 6 to 7 dollars when we was done with all the chillers he made over a million dollars on all of them Bud hi everyone from northwest Missouri ❤❤❤

I drill a hole in a 2x4 a little larger then the wire and drive a sharp drywall screw thru the 2x into the hole deep enough for when I pull the cable thru it cuts to the copper and works surprisingly very well

3:51 You know how that bank is.I see it's written on wells fargo bank. I would just go to wells fargo and cash it out right and then deposit cash. Never have to deal with that crap again. I know it's a hassle but it fixes your bank o d america problem

I’m in tn, I don’t do as much as you but, I can suggest get the duck away from Bank of America that place will and did duck me over more then I can count, and close the account and opened it add a credit union best decision of my life. I don’t get checks my yard will cash out on the spot unless over 20k then they will wire transfer. Cat cable is some of the hardest stuff for me to get rid of😂

​@@ProjectShopFl I use Fairwinds Credit Unit, not sure if they are down there in South Florida. But they have excellent service. Every time a check has had a hold put on it, I've called up and they pushed it through.

I know this is the obvious, but if you take the check to the bank its written on they should be able to cash it providing the issuers account has the funds. But thats just extra work on your end that you shouldn't have to do, plus if you don't have an account with that bank they want to charge you a percentage. Its a bunch of BS that a company can't pay cash to a seller even if they give them their business info to have on hand. I geuss they suppose everyone has lots of money in their accounts and dont need access to check funds immediately.

Last time I went to a other bank to cash a check ( PNC Bank) they wanted 8% witch was like $60 I snatched the check and told the lady she was smoking crack and robbing people. lol

I want people to know why I am doing the things I do and there are some people with similar machines and might need some insight.

i have strip 600 by hand with knif in one with the wire in the same and pulling with the other hand i love striping spaghetti by hand i have told youalready but ilike to tell again i got a pickupload of wire yes my truck bed fullit had a mix of all kinds5/600lotof spaghetti but strip it by my self no one help me the place i took it to thay said thay have never seen so much copperwire cut up at one time yes i cut it into picesthe number one i had two and a hafe brarrels full on hadwire and ethe otherhad copper tubing and copper pipthe hafea brarrel had wire that didnt fit inthe full one a lot of copper that day now igot4 brarrels full now whiting on the prices to go up be for i sale it im geting a little triared now good luck and my you be blessed
