If WWE wanted their women's championship to "look feminine" there was a right way to do that. Instead they went with the neon pink butterfly. I guess I should be grateful it wasn't a neon pink unicorn?

Honestly, out of everyone who held the Universal Title, Kevin Owens was the only one who had a decent reign with it. Everyone else's reigns were either tragic, shit or tragically shit.

Also, Braun's title win only came about b/c Roman was sensible and wants to keep his family safe, and Goldberg only dropped it b/c he didn't want to work anymore this year. Braun's win was tainted from the get-go. The Universal Championship is cursed.

@@StormSnake0618 Also, the fact that the best match that made it look like an actual world title came about three years after its inception in Rollins vs Styles in MITB '19. Not saying the other matches for the title were bad, but the matches before Rollins/Styles felt more like the competitors were wrestling for a midcard belt. It's kinda like the Divas Championship in a sense that no one really made it worth something until Kaitlyn and AJ Lee feuded for it...

I'd use Stockolm Syndrome for the spinner belt. As much as I don't like the big W belt, I still find it an inprovement over it. I would't call the NWA title ugly, but yeah, it's really weird looking, what with its overly rectangular shape. That being said, I'd say some of the "vintage" title designs that NWA brought back for the titles they use on Power are actually ugly

I always liked the idea of someone getting a title by losing. As in, if you "won" the title, that title would have to be defended on EVERY wrestling show (including ppvs). The reason why is that, keyfabe, makes the wrestler's life a living hell and, to add realism, creates over-exposure (Where the wrestler has confidence problems, if they are a babyface).

Not sure if he still does it but I used to watch grims toy show like 10 years ago as a kid and he had this exact concept in his videos, it was literally called the loser belt for his figures😂. It was the 2000s ic championship with a pic of a dead eagle on it if my memory serves me right.

That womens championship that Trish Stratus always carried was great.

The NWA "Ten Pounds of Gold" world title belt looks more like what I'd imagine a midcard championship might.

The spinner belt made me think of the old toys that would say something like, "The duck says quack quack quack. "

The 24/7 belt looks like a knockoff watch you'd find at an Indonesian flea market where it's missing a 4 and goes up to 13.

Looking back to it, would be bery helpful to know that Jay Briscoe's title was a reflection of the gimmick, not the person. But I really thought about Jay Briscoe as a controversial human being, more than he was.

I really liked the design of the current WWE title when it was first introduced over the one that The Rock unveiled after the spinner one, but over time when all other titles started looking similar it started losing its appeal. Making all other titles look like the WWE title really devalued it's look.

I actually think both women's title look gorgeous. Sure theyre a bit simplistic, but that makes them look very slick and professional. As for the "Its just a corporate logo" part, I don't get it. So what? It's the title that means you're the top of the WWE. These big golden, overdecorated belts just look tacky to me.

I think the IWGP couldn't understand you and thought you put them at number 1 on this list when you put up their belt. Gado saw that and went "hold my asahi".

My favorite personalized championship is the Million Dollar Championship.

Now we have to add the NJPW World Heavyweight Championship to the List...which makes me sad.

It's really not fair to put the old NWA belts on the list. Until Reggie Parks made a side business out of it, there was nowhere dedicated to making wrestling belts and promotions had to get them where they could. At one point, the AWA contracted a local prison to make belts.

I remember Mr. Anderson having the best description of Jeff Hardy's personalized garbage: It looked like Hardy stuck a paintbrush up his a** and squatted down.

Oh man, after looking at some of these I need to sit down and stare at the UK championship for awhile to feel better.

Going from the 24/7 Championship to the IWGP V4 is like having a perfect cheeseburger after opening the Ark of the Covenant

The 24/7 Championship looks similar to the WWE Championship belt that the Iron Sheik held.

The Gift of the Gods, while ridiculously over the top, had a concept that was "Money in the Bank" but smarter IMO. As for the NWA belts... It might be best to give them a proper update. Somewhere between old school and modern.

All of the NWA's throwback designs for Powerrr are fucking hideous and the belt designs before them (National, Tag Team, Womens) were all miles better looking. The throwback/nostalgic designs are a major stepdown to the beautiful belts that Leather Rebels had made before the Billy Era.

Three replica belts that I was considering during the pandemic as my first one: Gift of the Gods, NWA, and IWGP Heavyweight. I like the look of Gift of the Gods and enjoyed Lucha Underground. NWA has a sentimental feeling for me given its history. Ended up going with the IWGP heavyweight belt for now. I also love the old Big Gold belt.

It's not that they look like toys, they just look all samey. Same. same. same... What's the difference in winning any single one of them? If you won one, you won them all. They need some variety. Not to mention the "W" center plate is gaudy as all hell.

I watched WhatCulture Wrestling back in their prime of Adam vs Adam and loved it, especially Adam Blampied. I hadn’t heard of anything Adam had been doing since then, so when I tuned into this video, I had to do a double take when I heard his voice. So glad Blampied is back making videos!!

The current state of the WWE titles feels like Vince and his buddies are designing Xbox controllers rather than something his employees would kill themselves over

Regardless of design, the WWE still hasn't made the Universal title mean anything special. They should focus on actually building it up and making it feel important rather than just giving it to a performer to add some weight to his luggage

I wonder what Adam's opinion is on the "new" IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. I personally prefer the normal Heavyweight title

Ngl i actually liked Edge's custom belt and Jeff Hardy's Custom Belts

24/7 belt...."The physical manifestation of the phrase that'll do!" hilarious

I'll see your 24/Title and raise you the Big Green Belt. When the best thing you can say about a championship belt is that it shares a name with an infamous Dragon Ball Z dub, that is a problem. The 24/7 title looks like a dog threw up a watch, but its a gag. The Big Green looks like a dog threw up a toy watch, and it was the top belt in the company for the better part of a decade. Literally every single day of original heartwarming underdog Bob Backlund's historic title reign had him making his trunks disappear underneath a giant lemon-lime fruit rollup and that just sucks. The double-wide strap made it look far too bulky, the sideplates featuring the names of previous chsmpions and the years in which they won and lost the belts were admittedly an interesting idea on paper but a nightmare in execution, and the center plate was not only flimsy, which just added to the "ugly fan-made custom belt" aesthetic the rest of the design was already cultivating, but also really boring. Just some words, barebones designs, and tiny red jewels that somehow made it look even worse. Imagine growing up and watching wrestling while the dog vomit belt was the top prize in the then-WWWF. When a belt is so bad that over 30 years later, WWE creates a gag belt that's designed to basically say "Yeah, we can't believe what we thought was a good idea back in the day, either.", what else needs to be said?

Damn i always feel bad for the belt (not the US One tho), because it was introduced at a time where i was its main target.

In all fairness should any grown man be carrying around a repelica championship belt, it's the eqivelent of an adult bringing a baseball glove to a major league baseball game in my opinion.

WHY IS THE NWA CHAMPIONSHIP ON THIS LIST!?!?! It's iconic in wrestling history

Its a prime example of (regardless of how you feel about the look of the title) it's the wrestlers that make the belt.

It’s not about history. It’s about design

Edge's spinner belt shouldn't count. It was supposed to look awful as an insult to the idea itself.

One of my favorite designs is the WWE Championship design from when it was on SmackDown from 2002 to 2005 (The undisputed championship). It’s such a slept on design.

I don’t care what anyone says. I loved the US and WWE spinner belt.

To me, it ruined the credibility of being the world championship. I enjoyed it as a kid but as an adult, I just think it was mad corny

They were FINE. The only problem is WWE put them on people other than Cena. That was never going to work. It's like keeping the Smokin' Skull belt as the top title. I mean imagine Undertaker, The Rock, and Foley fighting for the Smokin' Skull belt. Doesn't work does it? Exactly.

I'm surprised that the NWA National Championship belt didn't make the list!

My favorite was the Unidesputed Wwe Belt, didnt last long....

I agree about the NWA titles, yeah they are pretty weird but I gotta admit that having those belts now is very cool, like retro and that's what I like about this new version of the NWA

...I like the modern WWE belt, biggest issue with it is that it's been copy pasted over 4 titles

The divas belt looks like the tattoo a 16 year old girl would get then regret when she becomes an adult
