#11 Van tour announcement. Van life tips: the potty talk. Chiricahua National Monument.

I needed one more big adventure. So I sold my Florida home in December 2021 and have been traveling full time in my no build minivan with my 2 little dogs since then.
I started Butterfly Tracks about 2 months ago. Over 9,300 subscribers have warmed my heart and given me encouragement in the comments and I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart.

I’m saving like heck, In February when I get my taxes I plan to buy a van. I will fix it up and I will quit my job and hit the road solo. I am an artist and I plan to sell full time. My goodness I’m nervous about it and scared of failing, but I’m more scared of not living. Thank you for easing my mind.

Please be very careful with google or any other devise that gives directions, if the road doesn't look right please stop and turn around. I don't mean to scare anyone but a couple kept going and it ended in tragically for one and almost the second person. Try and keep a paper map at all times. Your video's are great and I am enjoying your channel. These mountains are so beautiful!

You keep it real. That's what I really like about your videos. You keep it clean, I'm 68 and I watch your videos with my grandbabies (5 and 8). Van tour, trips, all real with no, or little editing. I prefer the real deal. The glorified van lifers edit so much and it's unrealistic because I know there are hiccups. I got sent on a wild goose chase by Google and I was almost out of gas and it sent to me on an isolated road and then I lost reception. Needless to say, I got so scared. Then someone suggested always carry a paper map so when Google sends me on a certain road, I could paper map it first, and THAT has been so helpful and I have since, avoided 2 Google map errors.

Hello again, Jan! Spoke to you a few weeks ago and glad to see this today. Beautiful scenery and great shots! I agree with Jo Harmon"s comment...use paper maps, not Google, etc. When I'm on the road, I use a road atlas (in big print now, lol) to get from point A to point B. If I find I wish to veer off to see certain things, I'll stop and pick up a state map. This shows more roads and local things not in the atlas. Oh, and watch out for the curious...I had a few dudes in gas stations ask if I was by myself. I'd white lie and, without answering directly, would say, we're meeting up with friends in 20 minutes or so. Had one ask, looking at my van, oh, you're travelling with someone. I'd say, yeah, he's sleeping. Traveling several years ago is different than now...I trust no one. Sad, but true. Stay aware, stay safe, and have a great time!!!

Beautiful countryside! On your way to see redwoods, you could also see the bristlecone pines: tiny, but much older! As for redwoods, the sequoias are fat but shorter (a very relative term)-make sure you gas up before you go up the mountain, and I would avoid taking those roads after dark. At least on the Visalia side, they are very steep, twisty, and lacking in guard rails. To my mind, though, the coastal redwoods are even better. The tallest tree in the world is in Humboldt state park, and all of them are magnificent. Traveling mercies-I hope to be on the road in a year!

Loving watching your videos improve as you go on this epic adventure ☺️ can I suggest you try to leave space in your framing for captions? For instance, in the into on this the captions, on a phone, cover from your nose down but there's a big empty space above your head. Alot of people use the captions who don't have hearing issues, especially on phones. ☺️
