Hello ma'am, thank you so much for the tips. I'd do well to practice them. However, do you think this is applicable to public speaking and voice acting? Cause, I personally feel it's apt only during a conversation not during presentation. As we're always told to put life into our presentation during public speaking and voice over, depending on what you're trying to pass across. It shouldn't be calm all the way. I'm confused at this point, cause I'm someone who speaks calmly at the start of a public presentation, but in the process I begin to sound energetic, rush my words and put much emphasis into my presentation. Though, I usually notice the rapt attention in my audience , which has always given me the notion of a good public speaker, but stumbling on your video yesterday, makes me ask myself if I was doing it right or are these tips majorly meant for dialoguing?

@chellyberk fun fact, I’m holding a training next month and one of the feedback I received was that my voice is too calm and it’ll put the participants to sleep. I laughed because my conversation voice and presentation voice are two different things so you’re right. This is helpful during personal conversations while you want to be energetic and “perform” during public speaking or a presentation.

This video has my name on it in capital letter. I am the one that sounds like a man, has a loud voice, speaks very fast when angered, yell at the top of my voice while calling out a colleague or staff. This going to be my most watched video of yours. Been struggling and working soooooooooo hard to bring out my feminine self. Done being the strong lady

I truly needed this. I am a loud person. My friend keeps telling me to lower my voice while talking... it's so embarrassing. I stutter and it is natural so I tend to use energy to pronounce some words. Thank you for this video

A lot of older ladies speak so softly and elegantly as if that were more the norm back when they were my age. It is so charming and makes them more attractive. Also the same with little girls when they speak. I have been on this journey for a minute and have gotten much better over the past 2 years and one of the most amazing perks is how much faster and more efficient customer service (whether male or female) helps me! I love it!

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the information shared. Personally I am drawn to a well sounding voice but this video brought awareness to me which makes me excited to try. It showed me my imperfections when in company with my friends I ramble my words during an exciting conversation. So I'm happy I have something new and interesting to work towards. 🙂 🙌🏾❣

I always look forward to your new videos because your videos are enlightening and I do enjoy them watching them.😇🤗🥰 However in my opinion, giving us the list of the points you discuss in the video as a recap, at the end of every video will enable us remember the points more.

I really enjoyed this video, particularly where you addressed my favourite topic, the avoidance of overusing filer words while speaking! 😊 my take is that they make a person sound less intelligent or knowledgeable in their presentation. I instantly lose interest in what the speaker is saying and focus on the “like” mmm,”like” Not good at all.

My mother and I are both trying to work on the way we speak and aside from volume we both have what I would call a punching laugh. We both laugh very loud and sharply and we want to rid ourselves of this. Any tips?
@ayanime_edem
15 күн бұрын
This is going to sound weird but you can start practicing what you want your new laugh to sound like… Another tip is to react a little more quietly when next something makes you laugh and even if you forget to, don’t beat yourself up… simply whisper to yourself “I’ll do better next time.” The amazing thing about this is that your brain will start reminding you of your intention to laugh a little less loudly. Now that you’ve set this intention, you’ll notice that more opportunities will come up for you to practice your new laugh, make the best of them and before long, it’ll be a part of you… …and my regards to your mom 🤍
