Thanks for watching! I'm aware of how polarizing this video may be for some and I can't stress enough that this has been my own personal experience that won't be the same for everyone. There are two sides to every coin and it's always important to hear both. Here's a link to a well written article about a man who was born before Israel even existed for some contrast to what was shown in the video www.nytimes.com/2021/10/25/world/middleeast/israel-jews-palestinians-journey.html. Thanks guys - Cal

I would add #12: DO NOT ENTER THE WEST BANK WITHOUT A GUIDE FAMILIAR WITH THE ROADS! There are plenty of areas in the WestBank whereit's perfectly safe to travel, but some places are dangerous to non-Muslims. These areas have warning signs posted stating that entry by Israelis (and it should also state any non-Arabic speakers) if forbidden. YOU CAN AND WILL LIKELY BE KILLED if you wanted into those areas unless you have business to be there. For those who do have business in those areas however, then it's perfectly safe. It's still best to have a driver familiar with areas A B and C when venturing past the green line.

Interesting video, wish you would have shown more. My dream is to go to Jerusalem one day. I like that you mentioned the soldiers though bc as an American that would be an uneasy feeling. We don’t see soldiers in America unless they’re on base or coming home. Is the Temple Mount completely off limit to Jews and Christians? And why do the men and women have to stay separated?

In general, as an Israeli, born in Israel, the advice in the video is good and correct... Another piece of advice is to address the Israelis with the words "help me please"... in most of the cases the word "help" opens our hearts, of course as in the whole world, We need to beware of fraudsters, yes and true, don't teach us what is good for us, each of us has lost a friend, or knows someone who was injured or killed in order to maintain a sane life and to continue living and develop more technologies or patents to improve medicine, agriculture and much more

@Ace Miller There is no such thing as "taxpayer money". Federal taxes is how govt deletes *some* of the tax credits (US dollars) it has previously created. This functions to make the US Dollar viable .. rather than trying to thrive on barter instead of money-based commerce & capitalism. You can reject the funding that Israel receives .. I think most of it is mandated to buy US weapons exports .. so it's really a subsidy that flows directly to the military-industry .. just like DoD budgets .. just like when Trump & Bush refused to denounce Saudi govt, over Kashoggi & over 9/11, because they spend money on US military & high tech. ALL of that pays American investors, shareholders, executives, workers in the military sector. As Chomsky pointed out, Japan just directly funds their tech & industry, in Capitalism, but since we have this "religion" of "free markets" we must focus "jobs programs" and "Corp welfare" and "R & D" mostly thru the Pentagon. Heck, the internet was invented mostly by DARPA. While there ARE important influential Jewish & Israeli lobbies .. more important than Jewish orgs who are critical of Israel .. there's a ton of virulent Israel support from certain evangelical Christians, pre-Millenial group that wants Armageddon ASAP. John Hagee is one, but that's a widespread attitude among most churches, except very Left churches and very White Supremacist religions. Some people don't want Jews surviving "as Jews" in Israel, don't want them in Arab nations where they lived for centuries as "dhimmi" before they were expelled by terror, and don't want Jews in the West either. That leaves few options or final SOLUTIONS, if you know what I mean. I was for a 1-state Solution when I was a pro-Palestinian activist. I'm embarrassed I never read the Islam-based Hamas Covenant. There's a newer version that doesn't explicitly call for extermination of infidel Jews, but an old school Hamas spokesman says the old one still stands, regardless of the change in language. That Hamas Covenant rejects and denounces ANY peace negotiations or compromise. The ONLY path is violent jihad, murder & martyrdom, regardless what people want, because that's what Allah & Mohammed orders: seize and rule all lands that were ever once given to Muslims by Allah .. that is, all lands ever conquered in past jihad. If any Jews survive, they can convert to Islam or live under Sharia subjugation. That's the outcome of a single "multicultural" state. Now I realize a 2-state solution with the Palestinian version of ISIS means allowing them complete sovereignty under Sharia to gather military force to destroy Israel. Probably so. NOT ALL PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AGREE, but a majority polled do, or large minority. Likewise other Sharia states like Pakistan and those wahabbi or salafi mosques that Saudis fund to quietly colonize European countries and the rest of the world. You've seen soft-right-wing criticism and mockery of western LGBTQ groups with rainbow flags protesting for Palestine, while actual LGBTQ in Palestine and other areas run by Sharia are murdered, dragged behind motorcycles, thrown off buildings, hanged slowly for the longest torture. I didn't understand or accept the context by which Zionism really is an existential fight for actual existence, in a Jewish Homeland, in that State of Israel is not without some Arab allies, but faces a large number of Muslims who would seize the opportunity to destroy it completely, NOT because of western ideas of "Injustice", because Islam openly rejects "western justice", but because of political Islam and the lifetime of jihad that is mandated by Islam, by Allah, by Mohammed. Muslim religious leaders (especially foreign) aren't too shy about that fact.

Weiters are paid as much as everyone, it's just a local custom to pay a 10% tip. Memorial days are yom hazikaron lashoa (hollocost memorial) and fallen soldiers memorial day. Azmaut is Israel liberty day, and a day after the soldiers memorial. Israel is not a religious place altogether. There are some places and neighborhoods that are religious, but not most places. I totally understand the modest dress. We have some places in the U.S.A that require it also. We visited the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Alabama a few years back, it was summer time and we had shorts on, we had to wear a pair of "sweat pants" to enter the shrine, they supply them. Don't grumble about it, it's their home, their rules, remember you're a guest.

About the sirens so that nobody is confused: there are actually a couple of sirens most of them throughout the end of March and April. The first is in remembrance of the Holocaust there is one in the night and one in the morning. Then later that month there is one in remembrance of the soldiers and tarorists victims. Also it is VERY important not to get confused with the sirens telling you to go into a bomb shelter because those also sound similar

When you go to Israel the whole hour 15 hour plane ride I thought I was going to war. But when I got there I realized never let the media give you your worldview. Especially when you’re in cities like Tel Aviv which I like Miami Beach how old Yafo, Anywhere along the western shores of the dead sea in the Red Sea and your Jerusalem, All the tourist cities like Masada, Ein Gedi, Sea of Galilee calmer Tiberius, All the places that are touristy you don’t have anything to worry about, gets a little sketchy when you get into Jericho or Hebron But because I’m not Jewish or Palestinian or Arab I never had any problems I seen people who did have problems but it wasn’t anything they were asking for. I think they know how much they’re hated which is why it’s the safest country in the world, I would easily say Israel is the safest country I’ve ever been to, because other than the hard rock it coming from The Gaza Strip which gets shut down before it lands anyways. 20 years ago I would’ve said or maybe 15 years ago I would’ve said OK this is not the best place to go and then things got better and then it got worse again two months after I left another war broke out there

A pro tip is to visit places other than big cities, like going to a Moshav or a Kibbutz - both are an unique type of settlements in Israel. Israelis are very educated, and the majority of people are bilingual or polyglots, and almost everyone knows English so for a tourist it should be pretty easy to go around even in seemingly remote places. Israelis are very warm people and are always excited to see tourists, especially in non-touristic places, so it's both a great chance to learn a little more about the culture and also meet knew people.

A few tips/pointers from an Israeli: - some soldiers won’t be able to take pictures with you. It’s not cause they’re rude of annoyed- they’re just not allowed to have photos taken of them while wearing uniform - Yom Haazmaut isn’t a Memorial Day but Israel’s Independence Day. It’s right after Yom Hazikaron (memorial day for fallen soldiers) so that’s confusing. The other Memorial Day we have is Yom Hashoa (holocaust Memorial Day). - in big cities the best way to travel is via public transport- the cheapest way to travel - most of the people in Israel aren’t religious. The majority of Orthodox Jews live in like 4-5 cities. Hope it helped and hopefully you’ll enjoy your visit here 😊

Great guide! As an Israeli I can add some stuff: 1. 10% tip is perfectly fine. 2. Get taxi is great for in the city, for outside, if you are short on money there is also public transportation. I think travel by train for moving between cities will be easier for a tourist, although honestly out public transportation is pretty bad. 4. Yom haazmaut - litterally means independence Day, so no sirens then. The sirens are a day before, on Yom Hazicaron(memorial day) for terrorism victims and fallen soldiers, and a month before that for the memorial day for holocaust victims. 5. Outside of religious places *and religious neighborhood * you can wear whatever you want. Tel Aviv is one of the most libearl city in the world, for instance. 6. The scam thing is so true I can't stress this enough. However remamber that this stands for the market and stands not for anywhere else. I saw some tourist tries to haggle in the mall and it was pretty funny... Great video, I can confirm those are really good advices!

Had a hissy fit that they couldn’t have the whole thing and had multiple wars and conflicts that Israel won over and over again, they took over those areas (legally and morally) and maintain them (legally and morally). You will further notice that Israelis settling legally in “palestinian” towns are nearly always met with extreme violence and are needing protection from the IDF. You will FURTHER YET notice that giving Gaza back did not help whatsoever, and instead has lead to Hamas having nice land to bomb Israel illegally. Good video! Just a few notes (from an Israeli): 1. Some of the things you said are specific to Jerusalem. While there are a lot of religious people in Israel (around a third of all Israeli Jews keep Shabbat, for example), some areas are more liberal than others- so, for example, in Tel Aviv you'll see that most people usually don't dress modestly and aren't religious. Same goes for soldiers- there are a lot of them in Jerusalem and other cities that have both Muslim and Jewish citizens, since there's a lot of friction there; but not a lot in other places (though there still are some). 2. You got the memorial days wrong- Yom Ha'atzma'ut is our independence day, it's a happy and celebratory day occurring a day after Yom Hazikaron (which is the memorial day for the fallen soldiers and civilian victims of wars/ terrorist attacks); there is a second memorial day, it is a week before the memorial day and it's called Yom Hasho'ah- memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust (NOT international Holocaust memorial day, we have a different date here) Also, in the future, please refrain from actually sounding the siren in such videos!!!!! Years of hearing it have conditioned me and most Israelis into reacting very emotionally to it- not to mention that it resembles the siren we hear whenever there's a missile attack, so it's very stressing and triggering to some

How did no one think about it before? Seriously though, stop. Not every single Israeli person hates Palestinians, and not every single individual is at fault for the conflict or can solve it, so stop blaming innocent civilians. honestly as someone who lives here, i came to watch this video to find mistakes and weird stuff people think about us, and i didnt find any. everything the creator said in this video was correct. the only thing that i might disagree on is the religious people.. you will usually find a higher percentage of orthodox people in Bney Brak or Jerusalem. in other places much much less, and in Tel Aviv i encontered only about a few of them counting all of the times i have been there. As someone who lives here I don't really see a reason to come here, but the food and the mountains of Eilat are truely beautiful. I don't think that you should spend a lot of time in Jerusalem, a day or two is enough really. the main thing that i love about the people here is that they are very nice and approachable, and as it was said in the video, the soldiers are really nice! most of them are around 18 so theres nothing to be scared of! just be nice to everybody and it will come back to you :) if you go visiting nature, stay in the trails!! its very important, aside from the landmines, there might be falling rocks and animals.

For trains, you can buy a separate ticket loaded onto the card and you can make a day pass so if you are going to another city, you have unlimited rides on the buses for that day as well as your train fare between cities. You can get the card at the train or bus station.

With that being said, this should only be a tutorial for visiting Jerusalem! The majority of what you talked about would not present the majority of Israel. Especially not Tal Aviv and near by cities. One more thing, while it’s true that you can haggle in the marked in Jerusalem, the prices are still pair and lower then in the U.S. Honour the hard work of these people who are not making a fortune and pay the price they asked for.

Is it true they treat isreali Christians as bad as they treat the Palestinians. I saw a video today and they were saying that the police block Christians from accessing their religious sites. And they said that only isreali Jews should have the right to vote

@@p1p951 I don't know about the specific case you're referring to, but this isn't what generally happens. While the media always highlights fights and riots, as a whole we live together. Of course there are tensions, especially with the gaza strip and hamas, but the constant clashes between arabs and jews on the daily level are mostly between extremists. Especially with Christians, I've never encountered any hate towards them outside of some ultra religious people. And about the votes - I have no idea who said this, we certainly don't want to stop anyone from voting. Israel is first and foremost a democracy, and people have equal rights independently of religion, race, or gender. While there are aspects in which criticism of Israel is in place, people are taking things way too far and try to make it out to be some hate filled hellhole, which it isn't.

@@commenturthegreat2915 are you living under a rock? how can a 1 year old be an extremist? (a baby from the kolak family i believe, massacred along with 22 other family members from missiles). israel is the extremist. the idf soldiers shoot kids for fun and theres video proof of it. have you even seen the death toll in jerusalem? around 200 killed and 1200+ injured, but only about 3 dead from hamas's missiles. tell me whos the terrorist here. and hamas acted in retaliation, so israel is the one that started, and now theyre playing victim because they were bombed despite them having the iron dome anti missile system. how can a nuclear superpower be oppressed by villagers with rocks? face up to the truth, israel is nothing but a state of extremism and terrorism.
