You missed my level 1: sticking everything in a pre-made bag with some wadded up tissue paper
@checksanity
6 ай бұрын
Haha! I do this too because it allows the bag and tissue to be reused. However, I don’t “wad up” the tissue in a scrunching way. My mom taught me to open the tissue, pinch the centre of the sheet, pick it up, then flick your wrist/arm-that creates a tulip-ish shape. The gift doesn’t need to be wrapped before putting it in the bag, just follow it with putting the pinched ends of the tulip tissues into the bag. Depends on the size of the bag, but it requires maybe 2-5 sheets to look full and pretty.

It just takes practice, like anything else
I'm one of the few people who enjoys wrapping gifts. I'm eager to try doing the pockets and pleats. One way I like to wrap is similar to the pillar candle, but with shorter ends, to make it look like old fashioned wrapped candy. I just tie each side with curling ribbon then curl it. 😊

One of my favorite memories is volunteering at a wrapping station outside an REI every Christmas in high school! I loved wrapping people's gifts; I could get the benefit of wrapping a variety of fun gifts without having to pay for either the gift or paper LOL And it was always fun hearing people's reasoning behind their gifts :)

The card flap trick is astounding
Me getting the Lvl11 gift : "I hope it's a cat"
Loved this - the books with the card pocket and the no tape versions were my favorite! I tend to use (and reuse) store bought bags for awkwardly shaped things, but I've definitely run out before. It'll be useful if that comes up again to know how to make my own ♥
I love wrapping gifts. When I was a kid, my mom would have me wrap all the presents for Xmas (except my own) 😅 I've actually used a few of these methods! I hate just throwing things in bags. I think people like unwrapping things (even if they don't like to wrap gifts themselves) so I try to wrap everything even if it's a weird shape.

It depends on the person. I hate when people wrap my gifts, because I can't not think about the waste of single-use wrapping paper. I prefer when they use gift bags or even shopping bags.
@NadiaSeesIt

I get that, but bags are reusable! I just buy high quality bags and grab them after to reuse. Myself and a few family members keep exchanging the same bags!
Loved this! I especially appreciate the examples that required no tape. It allows for potential reuse of the wrapping and/or makes it easier to recycle (no removal of tape). I’d never seen the bag style ones before. It would be cool to see another video, maybe with a focus on how to do different types of bow styling.

Agreed! Very creative making your own bag out of different designed paper. I never knew how to make a bag before- Blew my mind!!!
Finally some videos on gift wrapping! Remember searching for it some years back and being super disappointed nothing existed.
She missed levels: -3: hide behind your back unwrapped and hand it to the recipient and say "surprise" or something more clever. -2: throw into some kind of bag that's bigger than the item, preferably paper grocery store bag. -1: put item in center of a newspaper, pull all ends to close it into a ball, tie with string or a ton of tape. Three more tacky levels... covered.

Wow- I thought I was pretty good at wrapping and she zoomed past my whole skill set at level 3. Some of these look doable and really fun! Can’t wait to try them out.
The card slot is genius and I can't wait to try it. Also the gift bag of wrapping paper is super smart, I have an awkward gif that I was just going to throw in a gift bag lol.n
I love wrapping gifts creatively, but I've never take the time to learn to do pretty pleats (doesn't help that I usually have to wrap gifts on a carpeted floor). This tutorial is so kind and detailed that it really makes me want to try!
Thankyou for sharing this wonderful gift wrapping techniques, I have always found gift wrapping such a challenging task, but you made it look so easy, which I’m sure with a little practice should get easier to do, either way I’m greatly grateful for your efforts & sharing your skills! ❤🎉
I've saved this into my help & tips file AND my making file, so I know that I cannot fail to find it when I need it💡 Brilliant, versatile methods, thanks Sophie!
I needed this! I always feel I am pretty strong at level 1, but then gifts still end up being a little bit messy by either the quality of wrapping paper I picked, my level of patience or me misjudging how much paper I needed :') Great video!!
Just wonderful! Sophie made everything look so easy and inspiring. Thank you.
This is amazing. Even Level 1 version 3 blew my mind!! I feel like I need to rewrap all my gifts now, I did such a lazy job!
Level 0: Checking the *Gift Wrap* box on checkout.
I have always been the gift wrapper. As soon as my parents saw that I was good at it, I became the designated wrapper. Even now as an adult with a S.O, I'm still the designated gift wrapper. It just happens that way. I don't hate gift wrapping, because it does come in handy to know how to do it.....but to me it's like a chore.
wrapping with non-coated recycled paper, then making some custom illustrations with a sharpie is my go-to method for maximum creativity while using minimum plastic/coated materials.
My favorite method: buy a gift bag - reusable and super simple!
I loveeee wrapping things, this was amazing to watch
i had no idea how complex this could be wow, i got so many amazing ideas and new techniques, just wow 🎉

What a timely video! This was lovely and inspiring. May or may not quit halfway though and put everything in a bag haha
love how youtube recommended me this just after I finished wrapping.

I appreciate the Level 11 Tennis Racket. 😂 I have to wrap a decorative yard stake and baseball bat this year. This really helped on the yard stake and I plan to use the candle wrapping method for the bat. Thanks so much!
I think buying gifts is sometimes stressful but wrapping them is fun lol. Love being creative with it. If I could go back and tell my younger self I could actually make a living wrapping gifts lol... 😂

My biggest problem is, I buy the cheap wrapping paper. The kind where if you look at it too hard, it rips. Not that I would actually do a good job with good wrapping paper, but at least it wouldnt rip.
im only 3 minutes into the vid and im already amazed
Okay. I'm bookmarking this one... I will never remember all these. Excellent video. Before now, I never got much past level 1. Although... I am rather an expert at that. LOL!
Coffe mug level was missing!!! Yesterday I packed my sister's gift she was giving to her friend, and they gave the mug without its box. I packed it but left out the handle because I didn't understand what to do with it so I glued the card and a bow near it and covered the body, top and bottom of the mug with one sheet!! I was glad everyone liked it😊😊 If there is a way to cover all of it, it would be nice to know!!
Definitely one of Santa's little helpers, no doubt.

Bet you can't guess what's inside this huge 300 pound box....
Level 12+ is wrapping service at most upscale Japanese shopping centers. ❤
imo the best wrap is the one where you'd never guess whats inside, like wrapping a new smartphone as if its bottle. its abit more fun reaction
How long did it take you to learn to do this so easily? Thank you for posting this, by the way! Well done!
If you want to take it even further, you could use Glue Dots on the undersides of the paper so that tape mechanics are concealed. 🌟
Put everything in a box. Wrap the box.
Box & bow is level 1? what level is sloppily wrapped in news paper? 😅
My wrapping job is either throw it in a bag with some tissue paper and call it a day, but since I like wrapping with paper and having to actually unwrap and open gifts/ watch people open it- throw fhe item in a box (if not already in a box) and wrap the box
I remember doing a box with pockets but not using them for anything. The pockets were just for the look.
every decision you've ever made has led up to this moment.
Gift wrapping paper is beautiful, certainly better than unwrapping but the thought of the recipient tearing it up and throwing it away or if I was the recipient I couldn't bear to let it go, is such a dilemma. 😂
I feel I should have learned this 20 years ago.
woah
Just put it in a box!
Level One: email them a gift card
my mistake is watching this after Christmas instead of before
“Card slot” at 4:30 … OMG 😮
They just got her to wrap stuff so they didn’t have to 😂
Nice to know my gift wrapping is approximately 0.1
When doing boxes, I almost always use her second box method. I just find it easier to see what I'm doing. Not saying that the first way is wrong at all.
That’s great and all… I just need the tutorial for how to tie the bow 😂
You should also try a Japanese expert. They wrap things really prettily and fast!
Personally im interested in level 0,4 :)
Her level 1 is my level 11.
My husband - just hands it over in the store bag with receipt and all
Ever heard of the Plastic Grocery Bag?
wrapping presents is my roman empire.
level 12: your wrapping is the gift
fellow gift wrappers, i need help... where do you buy pretty wrapping paper in canada?
