Loved the questions and your answers. Mac is such a sweetheart. My husband always say Mac could have been our sweet boy's twin. He is such a sweet reminder of our sweet boy Herc. They are special breeds. You guys are Awesome.

Thank you for this and for sharing your darling Mac. We never had any issues with our dachshunds barking too much and found they were all excellent watch dogs. Unfortunately, they were also champion chewers - like, Olympic level.

Congratulations! and thank you for such heart-warming content - I always rush to watch when I see a new Mac video!! I had a sausage dog more than 60 years ago and I now spend a lot of time looking for them when out on walks in my local area! I keep a weekly count which makes it quite a challenge!

I have to giggle to myself when I think how much energy the drummer must need to play drums through this back up music..it matches Mac's energy!..😂

My little guy Bono has crossed over the rainbow bridge and Max gives me such joy! A few tips. Bono would also do the “thunder paws” thing when running own the hall to our apartment door! He too memorized his door right away lol! Also he was super smart like Max, he knew the names of about 20 of his toys and I could tell him to go get his Gumby chew toy and he’d dig his nose through his toy box till he found it lol same with his chicken chew toy, football etc! I was totally amazed at how smart he was! He also learned how to open the fridge door and grab a yogurt and sneak it to the bedroom and climb his stairs to the bed and eat it! He knew when we were going out on the beach we’re we lived and would grab his harness and leash and drag it to me to put it on and do the side look and growl if I took to long lolol! Thanks again for your videos! I look forward to them!!!

I'm so glad I found your channel! We just bought our first long haired miniature dachshund ❤ Thank you for the info, especially the chew toys.

Mac is very loving and lovable, really enjoyed the questions and answers :) heard that dogs bark when insecure... so, Mac must feel very secure :) Also, my dachshund just had a big dental, many teeth were removed as there was bone loss below the teeth and they had become vulnerable to infection and other possibilities. Dachshunds have a number of special dental needs according to what I have learned, it is advised to keep really hard chew items away from them, including hard bones. Unfortunately mine had access to very hard bones earlier in her life. Also, I love the sweaters :0

Our sausage loved blueberries , tangerines, apples - any fruit if you let him!

i have a dachshund who's my sister. she's not friendly with other people, really, but definitely not friendly with other animals like birds, cats, other dogs, even if they're the same breed, etc, but is an excellent guard dog. it is true that male dogs are easier to train, even when they get older, than female dogs.

Sorry, I miassed the post about your Q&A. I have a few health questions about the mini dachshund. Does Mac need to be careful about jumping up on furniture and jumping down (back issues)? Does he ever have skin problems, i.e., bumps under his hair. Do you have problems with stubbornness? The Easter egg hunt was absolutely adorable. Thanks.

Thanks, Fran! We try to get him to use his ramp as much as possible to avoid any back issues, and so far, he hasn’t had any skin issues. He can definitely be a bit stubborn at times, but on the whole, it isn’t too often 🙂 We hope you have a great day!

i have a very similar chocolate mini looks dam near identical to yours but mine never sleeps and is wide open 20hrs of the day ive never had such a hyper dog. he is amazing but hard to keep up with
