Mad props for being so honest about your river decision and why you ended up checking. The fact that you are so honest with yourself about how you were feeling makes it so much easier for you to learn from the experience. Sometimes, I can subconciously find myself denying that I made a mistake, some sort of mental protection mechanism. But as soon as you are candid with yourself, you can move on and be more ready for the next time. If you stay in denail, you cant learn. Well done ginge!

I would have totally wimped out on that river, too. So often villain has already made his mind up you are bluffing and will just snap you with TT in that spot. Or he just rolls over quad jacks. It's not the greatest spot in the world I don't think checking was awful he only lost half the pot anyway.

It's brilliant to hear 'I got scared on the river the pot was big and I checked' the same thing happens to me at 0.01/0.02! To state it: there are J9dd ,JTd, JKd, JAd, J9c, JTc, JQc available so you do block the more likely ones but presumably against someone as strong as Doug who's defending correctly, there are still quite a few unblocked Jx combos.

Ginge is nice to ask to be flamed in the comments BUT the level of his analysis- and how it matched with what he instinctively thought was the correct gto decision ie to jam on the river - was of a far greater level than the commentators and probably the vast majority of people following on KZread! Also the point about ev from NOT being able to continue in the game is a good one. (Ginge though shouldn't you have taken a deeper roll for this game in Texas with these players?🤪) Just shows betting in general is better than checking! ;) 😉 Great clip Ginge . Excellent analysis.

I've been in this exact situation and just been unable to pull the trigger on the river. It's really the spot we all dread when we play in a really big game without another bullet behind. My advice would be don't xr with as many bluffs because obviously the EV is much lower when we can't pull the trigger on the river. Nobody knows what you're doing so just go max explo when u play live. Good analysis though 👍

The fact that u only lost 20k this hand is great and easy to come back from. U keep regret that u didn’t shove all in on river when honestly the same reason u couldn’t call on river is the same reason u couldn’t do that.
