You need goats to keep all of the bramvles and brush rown. Work smarter not harder. Yes, goats require some care but not much. They are pretty hardy and you woyld be amazed at how much they woyld help in the care of the property. Get 2, and see. Or borrow from neighbors!

In Portugal, goats can stay outside all year round. All you need is a mobile electric fence, a mobile shelter, because goats don't like rain, and a water trough.

Goats have time, a lot of time. They use it mainly to think of ways how to get to the other side of the fence. And they succeed, always. Even electric fencing is a joke for them. So you might save some time caring for your land, but you’ll spend a lot of time keeping them where you want them to be.

I think that you should install a gutter system on the pig trailer. With basics filters you could harvest clean water in a tank (reuse an old ibc like the one for the biogas tank). If not drinkable the water could serve other purposes (watering plants, for a summer shower near the pig trailer, washing dishes, etc).

Brilliant idea to propagate willow branches to hold the lagoon embankment! Willow is such a useful tree too, I imagine y'all making baskets in a year or two. Downstream looks good cleared out, but remember that swampy areas clean water that flows thru it. If you plant canes in teh waters above the lagoon, maybe you will see less mud build up in the lagoon. So glad to see the multi-color house (formerly the pig trailer) getting finished up!

I would recommend to make not less but more dams upstream. Making the stream more wide at those points like little ponds combined with overflows inside a wadi. Just so you can retain more water during the winter months that are becoming much more wet to compensate for the much longer dryer seasons It also helps with slowing down water, wich can proof lifesaving for the people as for the nature during "monsoon" / extreme rains Greetings from landscape architect. You should build a little roofed area outside the door of the pig trailer. That way people can remove muddy shoes outside even when it's raining. Makes it much easier to keep the inside clean. It would only need to be large enough to overhang the stairs.

Clearing the vegetation down the stream of the dam is making water flow faster. It is not helping the water preservation and water table in the area. In permaculture, it would preferable to slow the water and let it stay longer. So building even more dams would be better and would stop water erosion.

Hopefully, that would result in clearer water in the lagoon, making it look more inviting? 😊❤❤❤😊 Edit: If Kevin deserves an award, so does the pig trailer team. It's looking great inside with all that lovely wood. If I could remember names, I'd mention them by name. My favorite videos are the ones where you show us more than one project. Well, actually I occasionally like the 'dedicated to a single project' ones too. For me the mix would be something like 1 out of 10 videos on 'challenges', 1-2 out of 10 on "Kamp life" and the people & rhythms of things, 1 out of 10 involving the neighbors and local community that Project Kamp is located amoung, at that point maybe I'd actually like 50/50 between 'multi project' & 'single project'. Not that it will stop me from watching. I just found you a few weeks ago - but I went back to the very first video and now have watched all 103. I'm quite aware that I am just one person and you have over half a million subscribers - so it's not at all about me! ....But still, I wanted to share my particular view. I really appreciate all the work everyone there puts in, in order to provide the videos!!!! Thank You Project Kamp!
